Crowne Plaza Paris Republique
- What's Included
We booked Crowne Plaza with high expectations (200 euros a night, you expect nice things). Unfortunately for us, the room we were in had a water leakage issue and we had to move the first night. I definitely commend Victoire, the night manager for her quick help here. She was professional and efficient. Our real issue actually happened second day- forgot wallet in the room and when we came back, 100+ euros (2 notes of 50 euros and change) had been taken in cash. All cards and ids intact but all cash gone. We did notify the hotel and Victoire once again listened to us but as we had no evidence, we decided against blaming anyone outright. 100 euros meant it wasn't a big enough amount to go to the police. So damp room, money stolen.. oh and yeah, the place seriously needs upkeep. Chipped walls, water leaking from the corridor ceiling. All in all, extremely disappointing stay for something that cost us 1258 Euros ( 2 rooms)!! Lesson learnt: Please be very careful of your valuables.
We had booked a suite for 11 days. The check in was distasteful in the manner in which we are asked to go and come again at 3pm, the check in time. We finally got the room at 5pm.The suite was poorly furnished and very basic. Even the lamps were giving way. Only one of the elevators was working all through the visit. The general hotel is in desperate need of a face lift.On the plus side the location is great, lots of restaurants around and the metro at your doorstep. Theres a convenience store and laundrette around the corner. What really saved the situation was the incredibly good service from all the staff, room service, housekeeping, restaurant and checkout. We regularly stay at Crowne Plaza's, this facility was most certainly not to their standard.
Sat in restaurant and saw a rat running across the floor. I had a very bad stay here a few years ago and thought I would see if it had improved. No still a very tired old hotel that smells. Don’t stay here run as fast as you can to a better hotel!
We stayed here for a celebration weekend, I emailed in advance to stay we would arrive before check in and could they accommodate us. The receptionist on arrival was rude and didn't even look at the availability before telling us we couldn't check in. When we came back later that day and were given our room we found it to be very tired with the bathroom in desperate need of renovation and cleaning. I didn't complain as wanted to make the most of a rare weekend away so went to enjoy a drink in the executive lounge. It was less lounge more bland meeting room with no character and littered with previous guests empties. On our last day while we were at breakfast and before having checked out somebody else's luggage was left in our room. I did speak to the front desk who said they were sorry and would get me an explanation. I am yet to hear from them. I can't say I was impressed with the hotel.
I was afraid to go here after reading the reviews, however it was clean and very friendly in a safe calm area of Paristhe room was smaller than what you get in North America but who stays in there room in Parisif given the choice stay on the back or garden side - the street side can be noisy, we were given the opportunity to look at 2 rooms and chose the one we wanted - we chose the garden side very quiet note: the hope on bus stops at about 8pm so if you don't get on by 7pm you could get stranded somewhere - ask the bus driver what there last stop will be
