Une expérience supérieure à Paris!

We began a 2 week trip to Europe in Paris and stayed at the Hotel Jardin Le Brea. We were totally happy, a true Parisian Hotel. It's just a short walk from the Luxembourg Gardens and about a 10 minute taxi ride to sites like the Eiffel Tower and the Seine. Esbelle was the staffer on person and could not have been more helpful. The room was very cozy, and the hotel itself is situated on a single lane street full of little cafes and shops. Everything you expect from Paris.I should note there is no elevator but a rather cramped circular staircase so be prepared to carry your bags! In the lobby there is coffee and tea plus you can have mixed drinks for a nominal fee.Should your travels take you to Paris, avoid the chains and get a real sense of Paris. Exceeded our expectations in every way.

Wonderful stay, fantastic location, fabulous staff

We spent Thursday/Friday night here last week and I cross my fingers that we are able to return to Paris because this is exactly where I'd stay again. We had pre-booked on their website for a great rate, but upon check in we were upgraded to a beautiful room, what a pleasant surprise. It was beautifully appointed, very spacious, warm, with generous fluffy towels and toiletries. Bed was so comfy and the room was very comfortable. Every one of the front desk staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, and encouraging of my eagerness to practice my French. The common areas were bright and cheerful and my husband loved the complimentary coffee in the lobby. We did not take breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment. The location is fantastic. Several metro stations very close by, so many shops, restaurants, everything within a quick walk. I loved the neighborhood feel that we had with our stay at this great location. We'd love to return to Paris and if we do, we will happily return to Jardin Le Brea. Thank you for a perfect place to stay during our perfect trip to Paris. Merci!

Compact, clean fresh rooms, great location and helpful staff

Hotel Jardin Le Brea is ideally placed for a base to explore Paris from. We stayed over the May Day weekend, travelling in via the Metro from the Gare du Nord. The Vavin Metro station is 4 minutes from the hotel. We brought a carnet of 10 travel tickets for 14.5 euros, which can be used on either Metro, RER train or busses. Brought on their own, they’re 1.9 euro’s per ticket. We were greeted by friendly, helpful reception staff. Our room was booked via a third party hotel booking site rather than the hotel directly. Not sure if this affected the room size we were allocated. The room was very clean, modern, fresh and well decorated, but was tiny. The door couldn’t even open fully before knocking the bed! Room size aside, there was storage in the room, a dressing table and chair and a complementary bottle of water (although the tap water was fine for drinking). Room 12 is on the first floor overlooking the street at the front of the hotel. At night, there was little traffic noise, but people walking past were quite noisy. It was about 10° celsius outside overnight and there was a thick duvet and blanket on the bed. If we had the window open, it was too noisy, if we closed it, it was too hot in bed. There was air-conditioning in the room, but it seemed unnecessary to use a power hungry appliance when all we needed was an additional sheet on the bed that we could have used instead of the thick duvet. The bed was on the hard side, but comfortable, all the same. The bathroom and shower were surprisingly spacious, given the room size. The shower is a large dual head type, the towels were thick and soft and a hairdryer was provided along with various soaps and a shower cap. The hotel reception has lots of information leaflets, reception will talk you through restaurant recommendations and provide directions. There’s a free Nespresso machine for guests to use with some very good coffee. A selection of drinks are available for sale. Just outside, on rue Brea, there are plenty of shops for food and drinks, there are plenty of cafes and bars nearby, too. When we checked-out we paid a 1.5 euro per person per night city tax.The hotel location for exploring Paris is great, the Jardin du Luxembourg’s at the end of rue Brea, the river Seine and Notre Dame is 20 min walk away. The Latin Quarter is 5 mins and 15 mins walk further into the Latin quarter is rue Mouffetard for a Parisian street market and foodie heaven. The Tour Montparnasse is under 10 minute walk from the hotel for fantastic views over Paris and of the Eiffel Tower. We had a great stay at Hotel Jardin Le Brea, I think the only thing that could have improved it is the option of a sheet under the duvet. Everything else about the hotel suited us perfectly.

Cute place to stay in Paris

It was an enjoyable place to stay- small but adequate space in the rooms, clean and well taken care of. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Convenient to metro and local dining. Yummy breakfast, we miss the croissants already!
