Our OpinionA very impressive and elegant hotel with marble entrance. Their Executive Suite on the 8th floor has an outdoor patio with amazing view - great for honeymooners!
This was my first visit to Paris and I was travelling with my 21 year old daughter. The location was fantastic as we could walk to all the main attraction without catching transport. The room was a good size and bathroom was lovely. The staff where very kind and helpful and tended to all our needs perfectly. The breakfast was great and lots of choices and the coffee was good.
This hotel is a boutique style hotel. The staff were very friendly. The room smelled a little musky. Very convenient to cafes. Loved that you could open your balcony doors for fresh air. We hired a driver for airport transportation, but as we were checking out, someone called down and asked for a taxi and the taxi was there in 5 minutes. The staff was very eager to help. I needed someone to talk to our transfer company in French and she was able to translate for me. Cozy bar area on site and restaurant.
I booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and was impressed that whenever someone had a negative to say about their stay the manager commented, "I wish you had let us know-- so we could have tried to make it right." (paraphrased) I felt that if we did have a problem that the front desk would help us-- however, we encountered no problems.I liked its proximity to many of the places my daughter and I wanted to visit-- we were prepared to walk and/or Uber as necessary. It is also close to the Metro for people who prefer to go by rail. This is a small hotel and it is obviously very popular with Americans because at breakfast you hear very little French spoken. The petite dejuener is hardly petite-- eggs, sausages, fruit, croissants, country breads, cheeses, charcuterie, juices, yogurt and more-- great way to start the day and I recommend adding it to your reservation. The staff is delightful and made a point to get to know us, joke with us and help us with whatever we needed. Our room was large with a couch, chair, desk and 3 closets, a small hallway and a really nice, large bathroom with a great shower. Air conditioning worked well (it was 90 degrees on a few days). The beds were very comfortable and we had lots of pillows. Housekeeping was provided everyday and did an excellent job.Our last night we decided to order room service around 11 pm-- it was a delightful experience even though it was a Sunday night and they were pretty much out of everything that we had ordered but they ended up creating an amazing plate of cheeses, greens, and cold cuts. The bar manager called us several times to be assured that the substitutions would be fine.I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
We were here at the beginning of the month for two nights. We were a group of cousins that took 4 bedrooms. The hotel is in a good location and very close to the subway. The side street it is on is fairly quiet. There are some decent restaurant and pub options within a 3-5 block walk. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The receptionist and desk staff all spoke English very well which was important for us. The common areas in the lobby and lounge are newer and well kept. The hallways on the individual floors are decent, though the carpet shows some wear and tear. Same in the bedrooms. They are small European rooms (by US standards), but they are clean. The carpet again showed some wear and tear in the bedroom but nothing objectionable. My bathroom was actually very modern and nice. And the air conditioning in the room worked and could be controlled by me. We upgraded one of our four bedrooms to a room with a balcony. The Eiffel Tower could be seen at night. Pretty nice for us tourists. We did not pay for the breakfast but chose to spend our money at local spots instead. (The hotel breakfast was somewhat basic.) Overall, a very solid and secure hotel to spend a couple nights at while you see the city. Doesn't have the pizzazz of a Sofitel or W, but it doesn't have their price tag either. I would stay here again without a doubt.
We paid in advance for a superior room but on arrival were given a shoebox-sized inadequate room with twin beds. I assume they do this often as the registration form has pre-printed blocks for 'upgrades' at exorbitant rates. The manager quoted me a rate for an upgrade for the duration of our stay, but then charged us the entire upgrade fee agreed upon per night increasing my room rate by ~40%! The front desk staff almost had no info or gave inaccurate info about sight-seeing/events in the city. Very disappointing!
