Hotel Regina Paris
- What's Included
This review is bit late actually but I feel obliged to submit this review anyway. My trip to Paris in October was planned well, from preparing the itinerary and of course the hotel that I would stay since I was rather picky on this matter. I inquired here and there to select the hotels which it should be in ‘arrodisement’ 1, safe, close to Vendome (like the buildings in its surroundings) and of course within the budget, I had heard much about many bad stories about hotels in Paris and not only in budget but also in upscale and luxury ones. Scary and made me nervous in filtering process. Finally the options ended to a 4-star hotel near to rue cambon (where CHANEL located) and Hotel Regina in Pyramid; a friend who had lived in Paris for over 5 years recommended me at the last one with a security reason as the 1st priority. The moment arrived at the hotel at about 10 am the hospitality was already felt, the concierge did welcome me as stepping out of the private pick up car with smile and willingness to take care my luggages. The receptionist was helpful and fluently spoke English and bit of French. Unfortunately the room was not ready even though the receptionist lady had tried her best to seek the available room (check in time 2PM). After strolling around the town I finally could check in at 4 PM (room was ready since 2PM), the receptionist lady escorted me to the room which to my delight facing the Louvre and Eiffel tower..amazing. The room was beautiful and very French, with the armoir and nicely designed without leaving out our nowdays necessary items such : many sockets for our gadgets and of course free fast connected wi-fi. Welcome note from GM and a basket of refreshments completed the hotel hospitality. The bathroom was clean and full stocked with fresh towels and amenities, the faucets delivers good temperature managements of appropriate strong water shower. The bathroom is located between the room door and 2nd door to the bedroom area which left the room with much of privacy and good sound proof. The high windows with a wrought iron railing facing louvre and Eiffel always intrigued me to open them up to enjoy the fresh air in the morning and afternoon. I did not have a chance to try the breakfast since one uneasy incident happened one morning that the manager jadedly did not allow me to use the lounge area facing the lobby for breakfast coffee but instead serving me in the inside area which I had rather not to be. The concierge was also amazing by providing the fast lane tickets to prominent museum and it helped me to see the Dior Exhibition while its website sold out the ticket. Two Thumbs up.Overall I did enjoy my 7-night stay in this Hotel Regina and would not mind to stay again when I am visiting Paris. This hotel has provided a high level quality of services, hospitality and security (hotel is locked after midnight, the guests may ring the bell, feel safe). Excellent!
Spent many hours looking for the perfect hotel and this one did not disappoint. From check-in, handled by the lovely Helene, to every single person that we dealt with, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The location was great, as we were very close to the Louvre and there are many places to find a good meal. Had a great view of the Eiffel Tower and could see the Arc de Triumph in the distance. Only regret was not being able to spend more time at this hotel, but it is on the list to return. It is definitely one of my favorites.
I had three nights here in a de luxe double room (218) just before Christmas - a nice side view of the Tuileries gardens with the Eiffel tower in the distance, from the room. A good sized room with plenty of space for clothes and I really liked the socket box on the table which meant I didn't need an adapter. No bath in the bathroom - just a walk in shower but I did appreciate the heated towel rail in the cold weather. I did think that in a 5* hotel you should have a spoon for your coffee rather than a little stick similar to those in Starbucks etc.The hotel does have a fantastic location with the Tuileries Gardens just across the road and the Louvre 5 mins walk away and the Musee D'Orsay not much further. If you don't mind walking, the Wheel is c 10 mins away, Eiffel Tower - 40 mins, Arc de Triomphe 50 mins and Notre Dame c 25 mins. This is an old hotel with great character and charm with a truly lovely reception and lobby area - you walk into shades of a bygone era. The staff without exception were courteous and helpful and I would mention Arnaud on the concierge's desk and Marc in the bar. I only had a bar meal in the hotel which was good but the cost of a couple belgian lagers was the equivalent of euros 22 a pint!! - are they trying to set a record? There are numerous bars and restaurants in the immediate area as well a McDonalds and a couple of convenience stores where you can get most things you will need for a short break. In summary this is a really lovely, top class hotel in a great location but it isn't cheap.
Beautiful hotel set in a good location to Louvre, river, shopping, restaurants, and in the case of our room a great view of the Eiffel Tower. The staff was very friendly an willing to help, there is a cozy bar in the lobby, nice after a full day out in Paris. Rooms are well appointed.
I am very pleased with my selection of Hotel Regina Louvre for my recent stay in Paris. The hotel is very centrally located where the major museums and shopping districts are.The room I was given in Hotel Regina was immaculate in presentation and cleanliness. It was properly sound proofed and allowed me to sleep peacefully. The room was very nicely appointed and was very appropriately lit so that the lighting could be adjusted bright or dim, as needed. The bathroom was absolutely spotless. The room came with a kettle, which I did not have to ask for, so clearly the hotel is used to such requests by Asian guests. The staff was hospitable, very polite and very efficient in handling requests. After my departure, they wrote me about a minibar charge, which they promptly retracted, when I replied that nothing had been consumed by me from the minibar. All in all, a great stay. I look forward to returning in the near future!
