Ibis Styles Paris Gare de L Est Chateau Landon
- What's Included
I took my adult sons to see Paris. We stayed at the Ibis Styles next door to the metro entry for Château Landon and only a few minutes walk to two major rail stations, Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord. We were conveniently situated but as an added bonus the staff at Ibis Styles helped my sons who only speak English and assisted me with improving my French. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the buffet breakfast even satisfied my two active sons. I plan to stay there again when in Paris.Merci beaucoup Ibis Styles
My first experience with this Hotel was bad. We arrived to know that our International power adaptor can’t be used for the bedroom as the sockets in the require a round adaptor that fit nicely into the hole in the wall. The reception does not have any adaptor to lend to us and instead wanted to sell us one at $30 Euro. Not willing to pay the exorbitant price for it, we decided to check out what available in the neighborhood and manage to buy 1 adaptor from a computer shop at $5 Euro. Apart from that, the hotel is generally ok. The location is about 15 minutes walk from Nord Du Gare train station. Next to the hotel is the Metro that brings you to Lourve Museum in 10 minutes. So connectivity is really good. The hotel room is really spacious and comfortable to sleep in. It has 1 queen bed and 2 single bed that sleeps 4 person comfortably. The breakfast is alright. You get your croissants, coffees and fresh orange juice. What’s really the best part of the hotel when you are travelling with kids is that they have playstation and a foosball table at the reception area. Needless to say, we spend couple of hours there. Another nice gesture is that the canteen is 24 hours where you get your free flow of coffee and tea throughout the night, including water.
During my 5 days city break trip to Paris I decided to stay at this hotel which is very well located 1 minute from Château Landon metro station and price it’s average with breakfast included. We were a big group of people, we knew that it will be a problem for leaving our luggage in the hotel since check in was only available from 15.00 and we arrived at 10.00 therefore we called the hotel and let them know about our situation they said that that wasn’t problem and they would save us space on the locker room for all our luggage but we will have to pay for it once arrival and we agreed that, well we arrived to the hotel and locker room was full, we couldn’t go to the rooms neither so they left our luggage in another room they had apparently closed with keys our surprise was when we arrived from our tour and fount our that the room of our luggage was fully opened to anyone wanting to go there :/ which was very disappointing rather than that service and everything else’s was great until our check out day.We were a big group again our luggage were left in the room since even though we agreed with them to save our luggage again locker room was full when we came back we took out our luggage from the room with the annoying surprise of one of my colleagues bags was missing with the bad luck of having her passport and mobile phone on it we asked the staff to help us by searching around and checking the cameras and they refused to she couldn’t travel back home until next day because she had to go to the embassy Yes she was stolen inside the hotel since there wasn’t any control whatsoever of who could or couldn’t go to that room with the luggage in.
The hotel was well situated as close to both Paris l'Est and Paris Nord railway station and this suited our purposes. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity and these provided meals at very reasonable prices - another plus. The hotel itself provided a good breakfast and the room was of a decent size and clean. Having stayed in other Ibis Hotels, most recently the Hague City Centre, I identified three areas that could be improved - the provision of a security system that requires residents to use their key cards to access the lifts (and stairs), TV stations in languages other than French and more dried and fresh fruit with the breakfast. We did enjoy the warm croissants though!
Dirty, dusty room, old furniture, stains all over the carpet and the walls.Uncooperative and rude staff, they charged me twice with the whole price of the reservation, at the first time right after the reservation via Booking.com, the second time at the arrival, the only reason was that I changed my credit card in between, but still don’t understand, once it was paid..and the lady from the reception was unable to explain exactly why is this necessary to charge me one more time, got a receipt and some explication after I asked for it, they told me with a poor english that I going to have a refund. The manager wasn’t there, and they simply told on the most nonchalant way to send a mail. I called them, there is nobody You cand talk with to solve the problem.I am still waiting for the refund. We will avoid Accor at all price, we’re very disappointed.
