Good Stay

Stayed here for a few nights in January 2017. Everything was absolutely fine, nothing stood out. I asked for a nice room and the guy behind the desk said they are all nice rooms however, when we got to our room, the bathroom was slightly rundown and there where very visible stains on the carpet. Nothing major. A very helpful lady on reception helped us figure out quicker routes and was all round very pleasant. I would stay here again - the location is great. As quite or lively as you want it to be, if that makes sense lol.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The "good"... the room size with a comfortable bed (slept well for a week).Consistent water pressure and temperature in the shower. The location for accessing the "metro" to tourist hot spots (Place de Clichy station nearby). Montmartre is an interesting area full of history and quaint laneways and streets. Nearby was a laundry for doing washing/drying of clothes (hotel charge for this was quite expensive). Hotel is a block from the Moulin Rouge... which is where the "ugly" also comes in. The "ugly"... the seedy area nearby with sex shops and males hanging around day and night (we got the obligatory Moulin Rouge photo, but didn't go that way again). The air-conditioning not coping during a heatwave. The "bad"... not servicing our room until 4.00pm! We had been sightseeing on an extremely hot day, had lunch and then returned to hopefully rest and freshen up only to find the room as we had left it (waiting for clean towels and the bed to be made up). Small, thin paper cups for making hot tea/coffee not ideal (so we took crockery ones from the breakfast room one morning and stashed). The breakfast room not always clean, slow service and not a lot of variety. And a message that should've been passed on to us on our arrival at the hotel... wasn't.This hotel wasn't really to our taste and we thought more a 3 star rating than a 4. It was average in most aspects, thus my average review/rating. During a 6 week European holiday, we stayed in many hotels... most much better and one other that was also below par. I wouldn't stay here again.
