Sofitel Arc de Triomphe

Booked a normal room but when we arrived at the hotel, the guy of the reception told us that we were selected as guest of the day which means an upgrade to a suite. Excellent service, good location and a nice restaurant.

Nice & convenient ....but not memorable or outstanding

On my 10th or 11th visit to Paris, spent a short stay in this hotel. I was seeking a good place that is conveniently located. I usually seek a place in the 8th arrondissement (district) ...which is central, allowing you to walk to the Champs Élysées , the Louvre (30 mnts), the department stores, the Seine etc...The hotel is clean, well furnished albeit too modern for my own taste ... I personally like in Paris a more classic set up. The room size is OK ...toilet is separate from the main bathroom ...nice shower cabin though. Bed and pillows are confortable. The corridors leading to the rooms on the floor I was in did not smell fresh ...but rather had a light cooking odor ...Lobby is small , with a tiny bar ....unlike more elaborate 5 star hotels in a Paris. The hotel is located on a quite side street ...however in 10 minutes you can reach on foot the Arc De Triomphe, the Champs Élysées and other nearby avenues.Front desk staff very courteous and efficient. In summary, nothing to fault in the hotel ...but it did not leave a mark, impress or be memorable for a unique location.

Great Service but for the price it should be

I usually stay in this hotel when I travel to Paris on business. The fact that it's less than a 5 mins walk to the office is an advantage but there are lots of other hotels nearby, it the service and the relaxed atmosphere that keeps me coming back. From the moment you walk through the door every member of staff is friendly and helpful, at the end of a busy day it's just a nice place to be either sitting in the small bar watching the world go by or just relaxing in my room. The rooms are small and at the price you would expect more space. I was upgraded on my last visit. The room rate was 700Euro a night and there wasn't really anywhere to sit and work or have some room service, Not a major issue for some people but if I have work to do in the evening I like to do so relaxing in my room and not having to stay in the office. The rest of the room is very nice, clean, modern design which has been well maintained. My only negative comment is that the shower could be a little more powerful. As I tend to travel alone I have room service deliver my breakfast. The breakfast is good, plenty of variety and some great breads and pastries. The only downside was the scrambled eggs and sausages, they had obviously been sat underneath a heat lamp for a while as they were a bit dry.Overall a very nice hotel in a great area, it's not cheap but from my experience it's about average for a good hotel in that area

Fantastic - Everything!

We stayed here for 3 nights during our 6 week holiday in Europe. This has to be the best place we have stayed during the entire trip. From the moment of check in until check out we were treated as special guests. The service is outstanding - the room was perfect - the food/bar was excellent. Breakfast - the buffet rates among the best we have experienced and selection was abundant! It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were treated to a cake made for us and delivered to our room upon check in. We were advised a previous guest had smoked in the toilet and even asked if we wanted to change rooms if it was a bother to us. Declined as we loved our room and the smoke wasn't too bad! Not one thing we could fault. Superb and one day when we ever come back to Europe we will be definitely staying here again!

This hotel is pure luxury, in an amazing location. Rooms are stunning and the Juliet Balcony adds an extra lovely touch. The bathroom is amazing and the bed super comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe amongst other sights and monuments.
