The hotel Tryp François, a magnificent building from the XVIIIth century, is located right in the city center of Paris, walking distance from the commercial district, the Opera and Galeries Lafayette.
Location wise it's absolutely perfect! For the right cost it's a worthwhile stay. Axelle on the front desk on arrival was very helpful and it was a nice touch that they had free water and fruit on our day of arrival in the lobby. The downside is the noise, we asked for a room at the back to avoid the street noise which was accommodated however you can hear everything being said in every room and the heavy doors are ridiculous when inconsiderate people just let them slam at all hours. The Air Con also didn't work in the room which meant it was crazy hot and you cannot open the window! It was a hot and cold review but for the right price I'd still probably stay again.
This is a very comfortable hotel within 20 mins walking most sites. A lot of good restaurants around ranging from traditional french to more "touristy". Bathroom was clean and well appointed with bath.
A very well priced, centrally located hotel. Rooms were modern, very clean and spacious. Front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is excellent - a Metro station is just steps from the lobby. Nearby shops, bakeries and grocery stores. I'd stay here again. Only negative is bar next door is loud at closing time on weekends.
Visited Paris a year ago with a party of five: 4 adults and a baby. We were located at Trypp Opera and were positively surprised about the location and the room comfort. Also the breakfast was very nice start for the day.Why to write these words now: we are planning a similar sping-break again. After browsing several opportunities, we ended up booking at Trypp Paris again. Noteworthy, as a lover of change, I am hardly ever staying in a same hotel twice. Therefore, highly recommended as your basis for a few-days-stay.
Just got back from a 7 night stay at the Tryp. While the hotel had a couple of quirks about it, overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Tryp and I would stay there again. A little advice if you book- Request a fan in your room if you book during the winter. There is no air conditioning in the room and it can get pretty hot. Heat is through a radiator in the bedroom and a towel warmer in the bathroom. Turn both of these off and with the fan it should be better. The mattresses are not that great, but if you request a couple of extra pillows it will help tremendously. Breakfast at hotel seemed really expensive, we opted out and ate a lot of mornings at a cute crepe shop 3 minutes from the hotel. Ended up being cheaper and I'm sure better.Worlds smallest elevator, definitely will create a photo moment.Don't expect if you have an early flight arrival to get in before 12pm. I don't think housekeeping starts till later and they inform on the confirmation that they have a strict check-in time policy so I wasn't surprised when my room wasn't ready at 9am. Now for the positive-Amazing hotel staff!!!! Everyone we encountered was extremely helpful. They helped with directions, taxis, restaurant recommendations. Always polite and eager to assist.Hotel was very clean and housekeeping was on top of it everyday. Even went out of their way to pick up in the room, piled my receipts, etc everyday. It really helped when I had to pack up the night before we left. They stock bathroom amenities such as travel tooth kit, shaving kit, shower cap, and comb daily. No shampoo or lotion though. Pharmacy is across the street and we bought bar soap and shampoo.Location is important and this hotel is so close to everything!!!! Metro is in front of the hotel. Versailles is only a short metro ride and then transfer to RER. We arrived within 45 minutes from hotel with no issues. We walked to the Louvre twice from the hotel and only took around 15-20 minutes. We never had to transfer more than once for any of Paris attractions. Taxi stand in front of hotel that took us to CDG with no issues on a Sunday morning at 7am.Try to eat at the Cafe H across the street. Great wine list and sooooo inexpensive. Music great with huge patio seating area.Soooooo many restaurants in the area, you will never eat at the same restaurant twice if you don't want to. Please though stay away from the Hard Rock Cafe (across the street) total ripoff.Shopping!!!!! Galleries Lafayette and Printemps were 2 subway stops away, or a 15-20 minute walk.Overall a perfect stay on a perfect Paris vacation.
