This was the first time for me in Frankfurt and in this Intercontinental, property is old but very unusual the way I have been treated being IHG member. The front desk team was so arrogant specially their reservation manager. Normally at IHG properties they upgrade you to bigger room but here I was kept on waiting in lobby for almost 5 hrs for allocating the room just because they have a policy of 3 Pm check-in and if you need early room you need to pay them Euro minimum 60,00 for checking in before 3 pm. It was almost a shock for me the way they deal. Non hotel every deal with a client like this they have made early check-in as business. First they offer you attractive rates than once you are there you are trapped. Will never recommend anyone for this property ever again. Because of business demand I need to extend my 2 days visit for 5 days so the first decision I took was I simply checkout after my 2 days stay there and check-in for reaming 3 days at Hotel Frankfurt Marriott Hotel. Another great experience before I left from Intercontinental was I was been given room at 3.30 PM after almost 5 hrs wait but when it comes to checkout there people were calling me since morning 9.30 am for vacating room telling that if I do late checkout after 12 noon I will be charged minimum Euro 60,00 for checking out after 12 noon. God they are crazy or they are making their management fool by this extra money from check-in checkout game. I was so pissed off that I called Hotel Frankfurt Marriott at 10.30 am that can I come and checkin and as I expected he answer was sir you are most welcome. They send their car to pick me from Intercontinental and given me room at 11 am in morning itself. Service is restaurants, Gym and other areas were amazing at Intercontinental. Thanks to all other hotel staff. But because of my worst experience at front desk on check-in I will never recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Frankfurt it was like a harassment one can never assume that he will ever feel in hospitality industry. I will for sure recommend Hotel Frankfurt Marriott they were best at everything for them early check-in is not business but part of service for the guest walking in.
This is the first time for me in Frankfurt and in this Intercontenental the property is old but very clean, location is amazing facing the river and 10 minutes woking to the downtown, as usual I have been treated as IHG member and they upgrade me to bigger room with an access to the lounge , room are old but clean and the level of service is amazing starting from the concierge and reception to the lounge services. Thanks to all hotel staff .I recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Frankfurt.
Great location close to the main train station. Staff are very friendly and welcoming , rooms comfortable and well equipped but Internet was flaky at times which was frustrating. Have used this hotel for the PL+S show over the years a few times and it has always been worth it.
Stayed here for a week whilst in Frankfurt on business. On arrival in the taxi looking at the exterior the hotel looked extremely dated, however once inside it was clear most mod cons were appropriately allocated.Staff were friendly and helpful and interior decor good quality and well maintained. Rooms were clean and sizeable, with exceptions of bathrooms that were very snug and required some manoeuvring to enter.Tv with lots of languages channels and staff on hand to answer phone. Very useful given in 2017, still not all rooms have an iron and ironing board (there is the 80's Corby trouser press!) so needed to call multiple times to organise the iron!Buffet breakfast had plenty of options but quality only four out of five and nothing really memorable.Location did not feel the safest when venturing out at night.
The hotel was as you would expect from an IC property. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good with the main attractions within easy walking distance. The messe is within 20mins Walk too. Ask for a river view if possible. The rooms are clean and well laid out but do feel a little tired. Also the bed. The beds are really hard. Really hard. Normally you expect the posher hotels to have luxury beds. I think it's perhaps a German thing, based on previous experiences, but still the beds are hard considering the general luxurious surroundings. Overall tho, a very nice hotel.
