Maybe one of the ugliest buildings in Frankfurt, this Intercontinental Hotel is very close to the central station. The trains to the airport only take 15 minutes or less and if you want to see the main tourist spots in the city you can walk to most of them. It's by the Main river, and the museum walk starts just in front the hotel. The old town is a little bit further, but a nice walk if you like walking. The interior of the hotel is supposed to be luxurious but, as the rooms, it's a little bit dated. However rooms are fine, quite big, clean, and well appointed. The bathroom is quite good, with a good shower, nice amenities. As a Royal Ambassador received a nice upgrade and the all the staff at the hotel was very nice. The Club Intercontinental Lounge was however one of the worst I've seen, at least on breakfast time, with a quite poor choice of items. The minibar wasn't restocked daily either.Even if the hotel needs some renovations, rooms are good, service is excellent and location is ok. Probably will be staying here again.
I stay at Intercons all of the time and have become accustomed to their high level of customer service. This stay was no exception. The only thing that this hotel lacks is a pool, spa and sauna. Add those 3 things and I'd be very happy. The club lounge wasn't the best one I've been to and I really dislike that ambassadors no longer get complimentary access. This particular lounge needs more variety to make it worthwhile, oh and don't get caught taking a beverage out of there and back to your room, they'll charge you a room service price for that beverage. Lame! The restaurant is great for breakfast I called room service on the last night and everything was good and arrived quickly. All in all, I'd likely stay here again.
The hotel was below average compared to other i.c hotels i have visited.location is nice . room style is old and it need renovation.as spire ambassador i didnt get any special attention. i have to wait for an hour to receive my room (early check in was requested uring reservation with specific time)during my waiting no body offer me anything not even a glass of water!!i asked for the duty manager to expedite room readnesd and i have been told that she is busy and i have to wait for the room it appears that the duty manager is the same lady who recieve me at reception and she was careless because she want to leave her shift !! which end up around 8 a.m.restaurant and breakfast was very good.. staff at the restaurants were vey nice and helpfull and show me the highest level of customer service, i wish if the reception staff learn from them
Nice business hotel in the city of Frankfurt. I was here on a meeting which was in the top floor lounge. You have a great view here. Can't say much about the rooms, but the hotel is not the latest and greatest but still in a very good condition and provides all the standards and amenities you would expect.
So the wife and I took a short trip to Frankfurt for a quick break. We decided on the Intercontinental for always the pleasure of a beautiful hotel that excels in service. And speaking about service, we were spoiled. First, I was in direct contact with Christian before we showed up and he started the service by making sure that there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. (I was trying to impress the wife). We are both IHG platinum members (where through the Chase card, anyone can be one shortly, great deal!!)We arrived early (check in is at 3pm) and walked up to Sabine and her warm smile at about 10am. She said the room wasn't ready yet. But, she was quick to get on the radio and see what can be done. She allowed us to keep our bags in their bag room and then told us that it was just a quick walk to old town to spend our time waiting. After we returned, the room was ready and soon we were upstairs. Beautiful room, quaint, but very comfortable. Then, through the wonderful instructions by the concierge, we were on our way to Heidelburg for a day trip. Once back at the hotel, time for bed for our travels back to the states the next day. On our way out of the hotel the next morning, who did we see? Sabine of course! Up early and working hard (again). We checked out with her, she smiled and sent us on our way to the airport. We appreciate Christian, Sabine, and the concierge crew and the wonderful service. We will return! Bitte!
