Nice Hotel in Convenient Location

Had a quick stay of only 2 nights in July. I stayed in the older portion of the hotel, which I preferred. It's a beautiful old building with high ceilings and lots of character. I'd often take the stairs instead of the elevator as I enjoyed the beautiful staircase. The room was large, clean and appointed well. I had excellent service from the moment of check in and throughout the stay. The only thing I found lacking at this hotel was the food and restaurant atmosphere. It food wasn't bad, my meals were fine, just nothing special about them or the restaurant atmosphere.

Average hotel

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. The location is very convenient close to the central station if you are relying on public transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel needs a renovation (at least the areas that I visited). Compared to other hotels in the same price range it cannot compare in my opinion. The rooms I had very small not to say tiny compared e.g. to the Radission Blu in Frankfurt. Overall I rate this hotel average with regards to the price.

Look Elsewhere

Spent a night at the Le Meridien Parkhotel Frankfurt. That was more than enough. It's an ok property with a convenient location, but that's about all. The quality of service is poor, well below SPG/Le Meridien standards. The problem started with our first room. It was nice enough: large, well-furnished with park views. I think it was an upgrade (SPG Platinum) but no mention at checkin. After a long flight and issues with train tickets, I wanted a shower before a bit of sightseeing. Unfortunately, the shower didn't ability to adjust temp. Just scalding hot or ice cold. Called front desk and maintenance arrived shortly. Seemed like a nice enough fellow. Unfortunately, he smelled. Badly. Worse, he didn't speak any English (which is understandable...I'm in Germany after all). So I broke out my best high school German to explain the problem. But he apparently didn't speak German either. He tried his best to communicate (Turkish perhaps) but it was an exercise in futility. Anyway, he worked on shower for 15 minutes before he pronounced "No Work". Thanks. That's why I called...He called a second worker who explained the washer was broken and they would see if they had the part. At this point, I decided to skip shower and just get out and about on my only day in Frankfurt. I stopped at Front Desk to make sure this was addressed. Juan (believe that was his name, same guy that checked me in 30 minutes earlier) repeated what second worker had indicated...not sure they had part to fix shower. That's fine, if shower can't be fixed, please move us. We'd be back in the evening. This is where the real frustration starts. After 5 hrs of exploring Frankfurt, I returned to front desk, where Juan informed me the shower could not be fixed. Ok...did we want to switch room? Confusion....This is exactly why we stopped in 5 hours earlier. I expected keys to new room to be ready. And certainly didn't want a room without a functioning shower. He said he'd see what they had. See what they had?!?!? Now I'm getting upset. He picks and pecks at keyboard for next 10 minutes. No exaggeration. I sent my travel companion up to start packing after a while. Finally, he informs me there is a suite available...but it is set up a a King bed and would need to be changed. Anger. This could have been resolved in the 5! hours I was out and about. Resigned to the situation, I head to my original room to gather belongings (no offer of assistance with the switch or luggage). Schlep our bags to the new room that's a nicely appointed suite (not sure why we weren't upgraded to this room on check-in as I believe SPG Platinum members are entitled to best available room, including suites but at this point I didn't care). About 10 minutes later an older gentlemen arrives to p change the bed into two singles. This takes him at least 15 minutes, huffing and puffing the whole time. Honestly, I was concerned for his health. When he was finished, looked like he had taken a shower.... all in all, it only took ~7 hours to get a functioning room set up as reserved. Glad I'm SPG Platinum , I imagine a regular guest would have still been waiting...just a frustrating experience with no attempt to resolve what should have been a relatively minor issue. While the location is convenient to train station and lots of sights, I would not return nor recommend the Le Meridien Parkhotel Frankfurt to anyone. Look elsewhere.

Well placed, very efficient stay

Very well placed near-by main train station (3 minutes walk) but on the good side, so not noisy at all. Good staff. Rooms very nice, not super-luxury but consistent with price. Restaurant is OK, notably for breakfast. Very friendly staff, check in and concierge. Always cabs available at main entrance. The bar is not the main asset of the hotel and accepts smokers, but you don't need to go if you don't want ! A few restaurant and pubs near-by, and the area of the city is positively evolving.

size is limiting

We stayed there at the time of the Frankfurt Book Fair as its closer to the Messe so easier to reach.But that's about it.m Its an old stately building whose adaptation to a modern hotel is poorly achieved.The interiors are grand but as you enter the rooms they impinge on you from all sides as if the shrinking Euro has eaten into the place.Its really small sized rooms .The cupboards are in odd places in some rooms but the baths are modern.There is really no view to talk about as the hotel is on a main street.The breakfast is poorly organised in seating, service and quality.Questions in any form are likely to go unanswered.the waiters at the breakfast table looked buys and ignored the customers.
