I spent a week at this hotel over 2 visits as part of a tour group. The first visit I was given room 145, it was 30 degrees outside, the air conditioning didn't work and the room was like an oven. Other members of my group had the same problem with their rooms and also found their fridges weren't working and subsequently we were able to negotiate new rooms. We then went on tour for two days and when we returned we were told the electrical problems had been fixed. My friend, who this time had room 145, found the aircon still wasn't working. The fridge wasn't working in my room but grateful to at least have aircon I stuck it out. Others in my group weren't so lucky and when they went back to reception they were treated very rudely by the male staff who told them no one else but the people in our group were complaining. Some had to try 3 different rooms before they found a room with a functioning aircon unit. Also, when our group of 26 arrived at the hotel the staff didn't have our keys or bookings ready and then tried to check us in one at a time. It was obvious they didn't know what they were doing as they were very slow. This never happens at other hotels. Normally the keys are waiting when you arrive and you can go straight to your room. We were queued for about an hour getting checked in and the other guests arriving were getting very irate at having to wait in a long queue. The staff in this hotel would benefit from some training about customer service because they don't have any. The only person who went out of his way to help us, was always very friendly and smiling and was very positive towards us was Jonathan. He should be commended for the extra effort he put in to help us in a bad situation, working in an hotel with substandard rooms and fittings.
I was part of a group tour around Germany and in Frankfurt, we stayed four nights in that nice place in the heart of the city. Clean and comfortable, the Savigny offers a wonderful buffet for breakfast. We had the chance to have some meals in the hotel's restaurant and the food was fresh and delicious everytime. Moreover, we had the impression to stay in a safe area of the town even if the hotel was situated 5 minutes on foot from to the train station. The personnel also is very helpful and kind.
This hotel is centrally located. A 5 minute walk from the U-Bahn and Tram stop and a 10 minute walk from the main station in Frankfurt. It is on a quiet street so there is not traffic noise or disturbance. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was good with both a shower and a bath. The WiFi wasn't the best but worked for basic needs such as scrolling through emails or checking social media. The concierge were good. Make sure to clarify which wing your room is in if you're staying here. Breakfast was good and we also dined at this hotel in the evening. The bar staff were very nice and the meal was good with good choices. Also it was 34 degrees celcius when we arrived in Frankfurt and the air-conditioning in this hotel worked wonderfully. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay here.I do not understand the view that this hotel is bad in any way as it is not.
I used to stay at this hotel a lot. It was part of the Sofitel group and very centrally located. Unfortunately the Sofitel is in another part of the city now and the hotel has really gone down hill. I stayed 2 nights and the one night I eat at the hotel was a little disappointing. Still a good location, but not what it used to be
If you want to be cheated than book this hotel. We booked a superior double room with garden view and got a standard single room (bed not big enough for two persons) located at the noisy street side but...they charged the higher price for a superior room with garden view. Complaining at the desk didn't help because of the computer system that cannot be changed. They simply misuse the short distance to the Messe for cheating clients. One time and surely not a second time with me.
