Sofitel Frankfurt Savigny
- What's Included
Stayed here during an event at the Messe Hall in Frankfurt. The rooms are very basic and very small. There was a sloped ceiling in my room (dormer type ceiling) and I had to duck down to get into the bed!The restaurant is great and we ate here a few times during the stay. Over a total of about ten meals between our group there wasn't one complaint - all were a very high standard for a hotel restaurant.
This hotel was much better 5 years ago.Room are tiny and the decoration is very poor... Bathrooms are not 4 star standing at all. I have waited 20 minutes to check in. For the price of it better to sleep somewhere else. LP
We had a weekend in Frankfurt and decided to stay here for the location and good price we got. It was very basic hotel with hardly any service. The staff was not unfriendly, but not friendly either. We didn't have breakfast here. Room was tidy and ok furbished, but somewhat worn already. Beds were comfortable! It was however two twin beds pushed together, so they were pushed apart very easily and there was a gap in the middle. Bathroom would need improvement, shower head was broken. It's short walk from Hbf and the city, and it's just outside the "red light" area on a more quiet recidential street. This however, doesn't take away the fact that you need to walk through that area to get to the hotel. The worst is that there is an obvious and open drug problem in the city. There were drug addicts using hard stuff openly on the street and lying unconsious on the pavement among their used needles and rubbish, also in the afternoon. So neighbourhood could be better, but for 40 € a night it was more than decent hotel.
We stayed in a twin room. Was a good size, had a safe you didn't need to pay for. Had a desk with a chair and an armchair in the room and also a mini bar.All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Has a restaurant with a limited menu but the food was beautiful.Hotel was roughly a 30 minute walk to the Christmas market. Was a nice walk getting to see different parts of the city depending on what way you went. Taxi was roughly €10 from the market back to hotel.
Had the opportunity to visit this hotel last weekend.Very centrally situated specially if you are visiting the Frankfurt Messe. At the weekends it is a lovely getaway for couples or individuals who want to spend a relaxing time strolling around the city with the least amount of discomfort. The reception was manned mainly by EU citizens. The staff overall were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and had all the basic amenities.Breakfast was wholesome and good.If you come by car, there is a public garage very close to the hotel, and reasonably priced for a busy city like Frankfurt.Would highly recommend if you are visiting the city for the first time or for a long weekend. Thanks and kind regards Randolph Perera
