Average value for money. For that price I was sleeping in much better hotels.Location not so bad. 20 min to the city center and about 30 to Romer.Room average size but a little bit old and destroyed - esp in the bathroom overusage visible.Breakfasts regular - choice not so wide. 1 Cheese, 1 ham, 1 salami, basic vegetables, eggs...
Being my first time to Europe I had grand expectations about what I would experience...my very first interaction was the Hotel Savigny. The staff at the hotel is extremely unfriendly. Not only was it difficult to get even an extra towel, blanket or help with the air conditioning, but they were not friendly which made it worse and they were almost condescending. When the staff recommended a museum for my children, it ended up being closed after a long walk (for the kids) and when we returned the other gentleman blamed his co-workers' foolishness.I asked for extra towels or a roll out bed and was told I would get it at 10:00 (each night for 3 nights) and no one ever came. When asking for an extra room, they were full but said the last night they would have another. They never gave the room to us! We were left alone to navigate local attractions, transportation, directions, etc.The coffee pot was also cumbersome and when my mother went to get tea (to pay for it!) the man insisted she had a pot in her room and deterred her from the breakfast area. I didn't understand why we were turned away when willing to pay. When I did confront him, he did let us get a cup of coffee and tea free of charge.I am not sure if the fact that we did t speak German counted against us, but their English was good, so I don't know why they had to be rude. The room itself was ok, clean and nicely decorated. The shower was uncomfortable so it was best to take a bath (we are tall).I would t recommend this hotel as it was also not convenient to the convention center.
Why should anyone pay 400 USD for a regular room without breakfast if it's a regular hotel? OK: breakfast buffet is very nice, the room was clean and the hotel is well located. But isn't this a standard level in the hospitality business? This review would get a 4th star had we payed 250/300 $ all included.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff prefer to argue rather than provide the service requested. Never experienced staff this rude ever before and I travel every other week. I booked last minute for a trade show and this hotel was the only reasonably priced hotel with availability. Obviously there is a reason for this, bad service!Great location for Messe shows. Only positive.
Finally stayed here after a previous reservation and review of charging my credit card even though it was a no pre-payment reservation. The location was nice around the tall buildings and away from the dirty surroundings of the main train station. The hotel lobby was nice and check-in was uneventful. The room was in the West Wing and was nice and large. The central air conditioning was a bit loud, and didn't work very well. Had it down to 10 degrees C, and it didn't cool the room off appropriately.I returned to my room in the evening and asked the front desk what time check-out was. The front desk person could have just answered my question, but instead chose to make me look stupid by saying it's written on your card folder/jacket. His response was "Like, why didn't you read it!!!" (not a quote, but that's how I interpreted his response). A simple 12:00 would have suffice.
