we were able to enjoy our stay especially thanks to the superb service of Matthieu who was always available to answer our queries! He is very professional Word a rare kindness! Merci beaucoup Matthieu
Lovely city centre hotel which relievers on all that one would expect.Rooms are spacious, very comfortable and clean, benefitting from big bathrooms. The rooms are decorated in a more traditional manner rather than modern fashion. I found the bed comfortable, and the rooms had all the usual amenities including a safe, mini bar and flatscreen TV.Room service food quality is excellent and service is fast, friendly and efficient. Good bar and nice gym. Recommended hotel.
Frankfurt was my last leg of my visit. It was the week of the Frankfurt motor show so hotel prices were quite high. Rooms are okay, service was average for a five star. The food in the hotel restaurant 'Oscars' was disappointing. Had the rib eye and my wife had the pork chops for 100euros with drinks. You can get better food from the chain restaurants. Otherwise, great location, okay rooms, nice spa.
Excellent location, steps from Willy Brandt subway stop. Checked in at noon time for a three night stay. I asked reception how much notice they would need if I needed to cut my stay short one night. The gentleman said the reservation is the reservation and there would be a penalty of one night (i.e., you have to pay for three nights regardless. This was funny because I had a higher room rate cancellable reservation up to 6 pm that day and I could have cancelled my three day booking and rebooked a two night stay from my phone right in front of him. My room was available before the appointed check in time so that was a plus. Spacious room, very clean. Housekeeping service was very good. I ordered ice for the room and to have cleaning picked up - in both cases someone same immediately. Fire alarm apparently went off when I was in my room in the morning but I heard nothing. Elevators were disabled and had to take the stairs down to breakfast and could not return to my room for a half hour after breakfast. Not sure why it was deemed unsafe to go back to room when it was ok not to leave the room. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Black out shades were good to make the room completely dark. Comforter not long enough for people over 6 ft. Bed pillows were exceptionally thin. Two pillows folded in half and doubled up were needed just for me. Antique climate control adjustment knobs; room temperature hard to adjust to get the right temperature. This was only of the only nice hotels where I've stayed that only had a single bath towel and a single wash cloth in the bathroom. Maybe because I was traveling solo and God forbid I would use more than one towel. The one robe available room was rather rough. The hotel seemed very accommodating so I should have requested more pillows and towels. But five star places anticipate this so you don't have to ask. Some hall noise in room in the mornings were loud enough to wake me up but not too bad most of the time. Most of staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was ok. Poor to bad service on all three times I was there. Items in buffet depleted and not refreshed in a timely manner. Soft boiled eggs were hard cooked, eggs Benedict (make that one egg Benedict) came with way over cooked poached egg, no sauce on top. Wait staff picked up dishes that I was not finished with. If you come near closing they will hurry you out at the appointed closing hour. On the last day I could not get anyone's attention to get coffee. I had to walk into the kitchen area and ask. They still did not bring it. Only after I finished breakfast did I finally tell the manager how poor the service was he brought some out. When I checked out, I was asked "how was your stay." Nope, that was another hotel. This place just processed my payment and said thank you see you again. Sorry, I will try out another hotel next time. Posh appearing hotel but not up to five star standard by any means.
This is a classic old-school hotel. Beautiful lobby, but small. Exceedingly expensive for what you get, but if you have to be in the center of downtown, a good choice. Old fixtures along the hallways. I waited 10 minutes to check out since they were understaffed at the front desk. Helpful doorman. The front desk staff didn't know where to find a bandage for my finger cut. No coffee service in the room!
