Bayerischer Hof Hotel
- What's Included
This traditional Munich Hotel is family owned and run and has existed for 120 years and seen emperors and kings etc. come and go. I love these posh and charming grand old places, as long as they are in good repair and well kept which the Hof definitely is. It can compete with the Adlon in Berlin or the Sacher in Vienna. The location right in the city center of wonderfully clean and secure Munich is just perfect for shopping and dining. The room rates start at 400 $ for the double room but the Hotel charges an extra 40 $ for the very substantial chapagne breakfast, but the nice rooftop spa is free. There´s an excellent restaurant on the ground floor and a night club in the building (free of charge). A street car stop is right in front of the Hof. Very friendly and multy-language staff.
In the centre of old Munich this 5 star hotel lives up to all expectations. Excellent staff, wonderful (old style) rooms, with great facilites. The spa and pool is good (especially the pool with its sliding roof). Lovely bar area on roof. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are really to be commended. A small fault with the wifi was the only real issue during our stay.
Great location with a short walk to gardens, shopping street and cafe. The infinity pool is lovely with a great patio view. Brunch buffet was lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Our room was very large with windows that opened onto the courtyard.
The hotel in general was gorgeous, all the spaces were carefully decorated and clean. It is perfectly located in Promenadeplatz, just five minutes walking far from Marienplatz. The spa area was unbeatable, with a huge pool area (closed in when it's cold) and an area downstairs which included a sauna, a steam room and arelaxing room with beds. Also, there are specific areas for only men and women, with another sauna and some showers. The man who was working in the pool was very kind and professional; he explained all the facilities and escorted us to the sauna area.We were upgraded from a classic double room to a superior room, and we appreciated so; the room was spacious and bright, with views to the main street. Even so, the bathroom was a bit small for two.The restaurant and bar offer is wide in the hotel. Even that, we could not get a table in the terrace nor Friday or Saturday. In my opinion, it would be great if they reserved some tables for hotel guests. The WiFi was high-speed, but you can only use free WiFi in three devices per room. The staff was very kind and helpful, specially in reception and concierge. I would like to highlight the professionality and kindness of Christian in concierge, who helped us in anything that we needed. His recommendations for restaurants and cafés were excellent. Thank you!
Everything about the Bayerischer Hof Hotel reflects the character of the amazing city of Munich, full of beauty, pride, efficiency. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The service is impeccable and fast, despite the big size of the hotel. The fitness center is rather small, but it has an amazing view of the city. The swimming pool is elegant and restful. There is a beautiful terrace restaurant and cafe, and a grand lounge on the ground floor. It is located smack in the center of the city. The only downside is the price--and the fact that everything is extra, no free coffee machine or water bottles. But that is normalcy for luxury hotels.
