Bayerischer Hof Hotel
- What's Included
We were at the BH as part of a reception. The setting is beautiful with the glass ceiling inn the Atrium a real highlight. The hotel offers 7 or 8 places for dining/breakfast including a 3 star restaurant. Service is exceptional across all facilities. The location is next to the cathedral and main shopping streets as well as in walking distance from the opera/theatre.
This is certainly one of the top hotels in Germany. It has amazing service, a three star restaurant, a really cool movie theatre and a perfect location (I'm not a fan of their night life options, but that could just be me). To me, the ambiance feels oddly dated. I guess this is supposed to envoce old-school Bavaria, but for me it really doesn't do the trick.
This hotel has its charming sides, such as courteous staff, good rooms, and a roof terrace. It is good because the others are less.I am doubtful about the restaurants, you can eat better elsewhere. This is the type of place newly-rich all over the world frequent. Do not expect great elegance and deep quality.Prices high. Garage is 36 / night but has good service.
Top notch location/ name, palatial architecture and by gone era opulence come with a price tag. I'm ok with that. I particularly enjoyed the modern twist under the roof of this traditional house such the fine, light filled breakfast room on the 6th floor (with lovely views and excellent service) which saved me from shuttling all the way down in the morning for a bite to eat. What I didn't enjoy was the (badly concealed) construction site on the same floor and the automatic service door, just steps away from my room - both contributing noise and dirt. A print out on the wall said something to the effect of hotels being like women and in need of redecoration on a regular basis. Bad apology and seriously condescending for me as female business traveller. That said, under the palatial surface there is indeed much need for improvement and repair, not just in the rooms and bathrooms but also event spaces. An antique object needs to be taken care of to maintain its beauty and there's just bit too much patina on this one. On the plus side, all staff was kind and helpful and my room and bed were very comfortable.
wonderful property perfectly located for a visit to Munich. The service is exceptional especially the concierge, valet and housekeeping. We received excellent recommendations from the concierge for a variety of meals. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. My guess is they are renovating the rooms little by little - which will be welcome but by no means should dissuade anyone from visiting. We enjoyed a meal at Atelier, the 2 star restaurant located at the hotel. Bring your wallet - but worth every penny!!
