Courtyard by Marriott Munich City Centre
- What's Included
Booked after reviews on here. Just as people said. Lovely and clean. Staff great. Rooms ideal. High floor best for a decent view. Reasonably priced. Definitely come here again. Lovely toiletries in the room.
I have a mixed feeling about this hotel. First, it has a pretty good position, 10 mins walk away from Deutsches Museum, about 5 mins from S-train station that brings you to Marienplatz in just two stops (and you have 6 lines serving the two stations). The lobby gives you a very good impression, reinforced by availability of services, including two PS4 for free use. Waiting time at the reception is not much long. Rooms are below par: as soon as you arrive to your floor you have the impression that to be in a cheap hotel, reinforced by room door and furniture look. In my room neither bathroom nor main door shut properly without slamming, a bit disappointing. No safe box, again not you expect in a 4-star facility. Towels were a bit raspy. Breakfast was more than acceptable, broad choice of fresh food although very limited in sweets. Restaurant spaces were a little bit crowdy due to the configuration.Bottom line, I feel it was a good choice, but I frankly expected more in the room.
Good location with the s bahn stopping basically in the basement of the hotel. Room was old with carpets and not very fresh. Room service knocked on the door even with the do not disturb sign up. I would only consider staying here again if the price was good. I'd never pay more than 130 euro a night here. Nice reception area and bar. Did not try the breakfast.
We have stayed at this hotel several times during this year. Due to the good location it is always busy. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. There is a large parking garage underneath the hotel where you can park for Euro 20 per day. Attached to the hotel/garage is a small underground shopping mall with a variety of shops (grocery stores, bakery, cleaners and several small budget Asian restaurants). Next to the hotel you will find a gas station. Not sure if the hotel has a gym but we went running several times in the nearby English Garden. Since it gets quite busy for breakfast I recommend to arrive either early (before 7 am) or late (after 9:30). Although the hotel was completely booked during several stays it was sill quiet. We have used the metro the closed station is Rosenheimer Platz which can be reached in 5 minutes.
We were honestly not expecting much from this Hotel, and as we were breaking our trip for one night it wasn’t going to matter. By the time we came to check out we had added Munich to our last of places to stay, because of this Hotel. The hotel is very busy, so check in can be slow depending on when you arrive, but the check in was quick and efficient. The rooms are very clean, well maintained with comfortable beds and excellent facilities. We choose to eat at the bar that night and the service and food was five star. Breakfast the following morning was among the best breakfast spreads that I have seen in a Hotel. When it came to checkout we were served by the duty manager, a fantastic young man whose name I have managed to forget. If I could remember I would recommend him and his entire staff to the Hotel ownership. If you are looking for a great Hotel in Munich, then I can highly recommend you choose this one.
