Courtyard by Marriott Munich City Centre
- What's Included
The Holiday Inn satisfied with its nice room with the queen-sized bed - where you had two different pillows to either choose the harder or the softer one -, a kettle (for green and black tea), a big window to one side that you could open a bit, the bathroom that gave enough room for two.You can use the public transport without even going outside as the Hotel has underground access to the Rosenheimer Platz, where a dozen trains go to Marienplatz, Hauptbahnhof, Isar and so on.I didn't have the breakfast included so you won't find my opinion about it.Last but not least, the entrance hall is very inviting ;).The price for one night was fine for what we got (approx. 90€ a night).
A one night stay. Parking underneath with a reasonable charge of about 20 euros. Seems right for any large metro area. Room was ok; no great view, but we hardly spent any time in it anyway. Nice lobby with good bar service. Check in was very efficient, and the young man we dealt with gave several dining suggestions. Didn't eat there, as we then ventured out to various areas within easy walking distance. Would recommend as a reasonably priced property. No real frills, but then, we weren't searching for them either. Did recognize me as platinum elite member with points and free drinks. Well appreciated! Rooms were adequate, clean, with so so wifi. Only suggestion. Don't have housekeeping staff knock on door at 8 am, and within 15 seconds enter the room!
The lobby is so nice. But sadly one does not sleep nor reside in the lobby. Once you get on a floor it flashback to the eighties. However clean, rooms are dated and not attractive at all. The WiFi must be from the eighties too, since the so called speed is comparable with a 56K modem. And if you complain about this they suggest to call their provider. As if this is the job of the customer. If one wants to order room service one has to guess what they offer. Because there is not even a menu card in the room. Really, I spent many nights in different hotels of the IHG group (Holiday Inn and others) and one thing is for sure, this Holiday doesn’t meet up to the standards one may expect!
In a quiet area of Munich but not to far to walk to the main attractions great little pizza place round the corner which the ques confirm how good it is, also same with the ice cream shop. Petrol station next door to get any snacks if late and within a small shopping complex with Lidl style store for any larger purchases, also a small cafe to get drinks and sandwiches and cakes. Rooms comfortable and we had a great view over the city. Would recommend staying here the staff were friendly and helpful
Sunday 15th October 8:08am. I was woken at about 6:00am this morning by constant opening and closing of doors adjacent to our room - this has kept me from returning to sleep. Now at eight minutes past eight on Sunday, the housekeeping staff have knocked on our bedroom door so that they can make up the room. Hôtel public spaces - lobby in particular -suffer from being very overcrowded. Avoid this hotel for weekend breaks.
