Very good hotel just outside of Munich city centre

This is a very nice, modern hotel just outside of Munich city centre. I booked a room with a city view and, although the city was pretty far away, it was still within view. I was recognized as an Ambassador member, however, there was no upgrade and no welcome gift in my room. Perhaps this has been stopped but I am not sure. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. There's a good selection of drinks at the bar and the service is very attentive. All staff I encountered were very pleasant and always on hand willing to help with restaurant recommendations or places to see in the city centre. There are stairs at the which helpfully go into the shopping centre which is where you can get the metro from to go into town - no need to go outside which is great at this time of year if the temperatures are low!

First visit; will return

We stayed here at the end of our European vacation- first stop in Germany and loved the hotel. We got a great view of Marienplatz, which was awesome; even tho it was a bit of a hike to the room. Perfect location; no need to even to go outside to get to the metro. Pass the Subway(food) and you're there. Great that there's a grocery store nearby too. Computers in the business center a bit annoying; that's what happens with apple products but we made it work. Would stay here again for the right price. Disappointed the pool wasn't available, and the lack of notice regarding it. Room comfortable and so were the beds. Restaurant was pricey- but that's to be expected I guess.

Ideal Location - very busy

This a large hotel - more than 400 rooms - and it is very busy. Our trip did not start well but the good outweighed the bad in the end. We arrived early from our flight, at noon, and our rooms were not ready. Completely understandable. We were told to come back at three o'clock. So we went to the Markets and after 3 returned. Our rooms were still not ready, the day duty manager was very abrupt and gave us no other explanation but "It's housekeeping. We sat in the lobby when our tour director returned. He was not happy and went to the desk. She blew him off too. He was not to be deterred. They had an empty room they were holding and he finally convinced them to give us the room. That young lady needed to be reminded she was in the hospitality industry. The evening manager was lovely. She kept calling housekeeping. One of the desk people was helpful giving us the directions we needed for the Markets. When we finally got to our room, there was no heat. They had to send a man up with a portable heater. Breakfast is great, the hotel is ideally located near Marienplatz and Munich Centre. Our room was clean. Having traveled a lot we were able to get over our first impression and move on, but for a business hotel I expected better front desk service

Great Hotel

We were slightly dubious when arriving here for the Xmas markets, based on location. About .8k from the main market on Marienplatz. However the hotel itself is wonderful, we paid extra for an Exec room and well worth it. On the 10th floor with views over Munich central. The staff on check in were wonderful and so very helpful.Breakfast is a bit of a bun fight, it's spread over a condensed area and could be better laid out, hence 4 and not 5 stars.Location wasn't an issue after all, the S Bahn is actually underneath the hotel and 2 stops gets you into the centre.

Ideal location to explore Munich City Center

We recently stayed at the Holiday inn City Center Munich. We were visiting the Christmas Market in Maunich for the weekend. The room we stayed in on 11th Floor was one of the newly renovated rooms and was an ideal place to stay for a weekend visit. Rooms very clean and bathroom excellent altohugh the room was a little small. We ate in the restaurant fo rbreakfast which was very good with plenty of selection. We also had an afternoon snack at the bar which was very good.It is only a 10 min wlk to the main square and marketsI would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Munich
