Ibis Munich City
- What's Included
We booked this hotel as an overnight stop before watching a superb matinee performance of 'Evita' at the Deutsches Theater in Munich. It was in walking distance from the main station and our first impressions were very favourable indeed. The newly built hotel was exceedingly clean and in excellent condition and the receptionists were polite and smiling on arrival and departure. Our room on the second floor (no.210) was not exactly roomy, but everything was in order and the beds were particularly comfortable. The bathroom was exactly what was required, with a large and easily workable shower and plenty of space to stand wash kit items. Very important, too, was the fact that the room was NOT overheated--often a fault with UK hotels.Despite being on a busy street with passing trams, we heard no sound from the street or from the lengthy hotel corridor. Our room did, however, overlook what appeared to be a large school at the back.We opted for an early breakfast and we were the first to arrive. There was plenty of seating (including an outside terrace), bright decoration, upbeat South American music on a background CD and a large choice of items to eat and drink. Machine-based coffee is never as good as freshly made, but rolls were fresh and cereal, yogurt and fruit tasted good.We will definitely aim to stay here on our next trip to Munich.
Great location, very close to city center especially with trams nr. 16 & 17 (station in front of the hotel).Clean hotel, quite new, supermarket netto across the road.Small and crowded rooms. Too much furniture. They should take out the couch.Awful ventilation system - it can not be turned off so it makes a lot of noise and blows cold air all night, event though outside there were 5 - 8 °C.Tip: park your car at a P+R it costs only 1.5 € a day comparing to 17 € at the hotel. I recommend Heimeranplatz easy acces from the hotel with bus no.63
Always difficult to get staff performing at a very high level right across the hotel but Ibis have managed this at the Arnulfpark. The hotel is convenient easy to find from the airport using S-bhan and then easy to the city using the tram which passes the front of the hotel. Great value coupled with the night porter service who could do enough for us. Ibis a brand that has really impressed me.
The hotel itself is excellent.Completely new room, very clean bathroomModern designAn excellent breakfast with a wide choice of pastries, cereal cheeses and even a Belgian waffle stand. The reception staff were under all criticism. They were very unpleasant and they had no desire at all to help the hotel guests.I do not recommend the hotel at all. Better for you to pay more and go to a more humane place!
I was there during the summer, it has a great location, rooms are small but comfortable, and the breakfast is well served. It has a privileged location since the tramm does stop almost in front of the Hotel and it takes you less than 10 min to arrive at the Main Train Station.Would definelty recommend it
