Ibis Munich City
- What's Included
Great location for Oktoberfest and Central Station. I would say a 20 minute stroll for both. It is right on a tram line and main road, so easy access to transport in to the city centre if required. Would take 10 minutes. Very expensive for our stay. €375 for 2 nights, which with the current exchange rate, turned out to be nearly the same in £'s. Obviously not the hotels fault. Clearly this was due to the Oktoberfest festival, so kind of expected. It was cheaper than other hotels in the same area. The actual hotel is fine. What you would expect from a 2 star hotel. Bright & airy reception area. Staff were friendly, spoke good English & helpful. Check in at 3pm, but early check in possible if you sign up to their loyalty scheme. Breakfast available for €11. Fairly good value. Good selection of cold meats, cheeses, bread, croissants, cereal, scrambled egg, bacon, tea, coffee, juice etc. Self service. Can choose on the day if you require it, by approaching the breakfast staff. Rooms were fine. Clean & comfortable. Not luxurious, but quite basic. Again, what you would expect of a 2 star hotel. Towels provided. No safe. A twin beds, with a small desk and a chair. Open plan wardrobe. TV, side tables and bed lamps. Bathroom was fine, with shower, toilet & sink. Glasses for water provided, as was shower gel. Could have done with an extra pillow, but to be fair, didn't request one.A big thank you to the night receptionist, who called an ambulance for me, brought me a sugary drink & a pot of sugar from the breakfast area & directed the paramedics to my room so quickly, when my room mate had a diabetic seizure. Overall, if you're looking for a no thrills and basic hotel, in a great location for the Oktoberfest, this is one to seriously consider.
GOOD:- Friendly and helpful staff.- Convenient location with good transport links.- Rooms are clean, tidy and modern.- Very comfortable bed.- Good acoustic insulation, didn't hear any noise from outside or within the building.BAD:- Rooms poorly equipped: no ironing equipment (and when I called to ask for it, I was told all their irons were already out on loan), no coffee/tea making equipment, no trouser press, no in-room safe.- Too expensive for what it is. At this price I would expect better equipped and more comfortable rooms, and breakfast really should be included also.
State of Bavaria is beautiful. Full of cultural sites. A must visit. The efforts of the state to maintain the ancient sites are laudable. There is very good directions and guidance given, as well as good information on the places to visit.
I like the location of this hotel the tram is a few blocks away also there is a grocery store across the street. The room was ok the pillows were lacking in comfort the bed was just ok not too soft was firm. The breakfast was good the eggs and bacon were hot not a lot of choices but for the price good value. The front desk was very helpful the bathroom was on the small side but a clean room we had. The Ac needs to be looked at the room never cooled off but over all would stay again.
The Location is excellent. The people not good. The price is medium. The room is very small. The worst thing is having no choice of sheets just a comforter. Another detail without forgiveness is not having a minibar in the room, even empty.
