Le Meridien Munich
- What's Included
The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Munich, but the surrounding area itself isn't great. The rooms are nice and clean. The gym is large and allows for a good workout. Perfectly decent hotel to stay in while travelling on business.
Very good service in a nice hotel which is conveniently located. Main railway station in any big city is not the nicest areas, but it is a convenient location. The hotel room was spacious and clean. Lobby bar had delicious cappuccinos. Other than a weird noice which woke us up every morning at exactly 5.06 am and worn out tv remote control, we had a really nice stay.
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Hotel is located nicely in the center of Munich-that‘s it on the positive. It seems that hotel staff does just do their duty but not with the passion, better without any passion, you would expect by a 5* (?) hotel:1. Check in took long even all our data were sent them via Internet booking before. However, any hint on hotel amenities (restaurants, breakfast, spa) was missing.2. I wonder why the staff does not greet the guests if meeting them in the hotel 3. On two days in a row we returned after 4 pm and found room not made up.After complaining on day 2 we were offered two drinks on the house. The waiter reminded us then that this means coffee only, however, „forgetting“ the glass of water I ordered twice.4. The only service at breakfast is that they will ask for your room number.Summarized our expectations were not met by far. If returning to Munich we will definitely choose another option.
I arrived early to the hotel and requested an early check-in. The room wasn't ready. That's fine but not perfect. The breakfast was nice, slightly over-priced but good food. The room was large but could have used some updates. The staff was good but not very accommodating. I think the management must be strict. I give it at 4 star review, which is higher than I should but I also am considering the good room rate that I was able to obtain.
I just stayed at this hotel for one night with my elderly mother and wasnt impressed, We sure didnt like the location. Its across the street from the train station which is in a rough part of the city, but may be good for some. We were afraid to walk at night or nearly any hour due to the riff raft on the streets. The Sofitel and Aloft are also right there also. If you are getting off a train it may be OK, but there are many others a short distance away and the neighborhoods changes quickly... Its about 3 long blocks from Old Town, which was walkable. As for the actual hotel, it felt very masculine, trying to be modern, a business hotel. The carpets felt dirty throughout, the place felt cold, the staff wasnt very friendly, overall just a place to sleep. Breakfast was fine. The actual room was comfortable. The bed was good, the linens were nice, soft pillows and nice duets. The deep soaking bathtubs, lighted makeup mirror, heated towel racks were all nice touches. The instant coffee packets were freeze dried stuff which was dissapointing, There were only 3 channels in English on the TV, all news stations. Internet service was good. Ask of a inner courtyard facing room to avoid street noise. Overall not terrible, just nothing special.
