Decent Hotel not a great location

The lobby at this hotel was very busy with lots of families with carts and carts of luggage. Nothing impressive at all to mention about the lobby itself. The hotel staff did their jobs but did not seem to really engage with it's guests. I was assigned to a hotel room on the second floor that they are currently doing do some construction on. The room was clean and well appointed and even though it was on the street, noise was not an issue. The beds were super comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The area around the hotel is not the best as is usual near a train station. There is a nice old beer hall about 1k down the road and a large beer garden in the other side of the train station.

A la perfection

Had an incredible stay in this gorgeously efficient Hotel. It was walking distance to the old town on the right and breakfast a total plus. Thank you all for the amazing stay and for looking after us. The bar I may add was fun and addictive.

Excellent location and restaurant. Very poor sleep quality though. Avoid it in the summer.

Hotel enjoys an excellent location and the staff is very professional. Restaurant offers high quality dinners and breakfasts. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but unfortunately this means nothing when you are not assured a good night sleep. Avoid this hotel in July and August when it is simply "occupied" by large family groups from the Middle East, with children spending the night running up and down the corridors and making noise everywhere. Even the lobby seems more like a playground for ineducated children than a hotel lobby. Hotel appears to do nothing to instruct these guests on the basic rules of decent behaviour.

A 3 star hotel with some service issues

We stayed here for 2 nights using our spg points for the opening of Oktoberfest. We visit Munich every year as our best friends live 10 minutes outside the city center. This was the highest rated place I could get a room in the city as most hotels were fully booked, and I booked 4 months in advance! In the past we have stayed at The Mandarin Oriental (5 star++), Kempinski Wier Jahrezeiten (5 star) and The Platzl (4 star superior). The Le Meridien was a 3 star at best. I was glad we used points instead of paying the inflated Oktoberfest rates. We were offered an upgrade to a quiet interior room via email for 25 euro a night which of course we said yes and confirmed via email. On check in there was no record of the upgrade, there was a long check in line behind us, so we were given a 2nd floor room directly overlooking the street and the entrance to the main bahnhof. If we wanted privacy we had to keep the curtains shut or you could see right into the room. There was a lot of street noise. The room was pretty basic, nothing at all luxurious. There is NO safe box in the room to store your valuables so I had to wait in line at reception each time I wanted to get into my safety box behind the front desk. Housekeeping forgot us the first day and did not come until 5pm on the 2nd day. On check out the 25 euros per night for the upgrade showed up on our bill. We questioned it and they confirmed that we never got the upgraded room so they took it off the bill. Overall the location was good for Oktoberfest, but we prefer to be closer to the Maximillianstrasse and the Marienplatz. The immediate area around the hotel has a lot of homeless people, so not a good place to walk at night.

Nice hotel in Munich

Overall I found this hotel very enjoyable. The people were friendly and helpful, it was clean, the location is good (right across from the train station and a few blocks from the walking street), and the bar was very nice. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with a huge selection. The pool was also in very good condition and there was an attendant who provided extra towels (though the hot tub was not working while we were there). The only issue I had was that they put us and our daughter in one king size bed and told us we'd have to pay extra for a cot in the room.
