I have stayed here four times now on various occassions - sometimes for business, sometimes for pleasure. The hotel itself is in a great location opposite the main train station. The rooms are all great, good sizes and all in all the hotel easthetics and comfort is great. It's what you would expect from Starwood. My last stay was the last ever. Munich is a more conservative area in Germany, but this hotel feels like being at school. During one stay, my boyfriend and I were swimming and chatting and sometimes hugged in the water. Someone complained about our cuddling, and the staff actually asked us to stop cuddling. We were genuinely being very innocent. On my most recent stay, I had a nose bleed while I slept. We were given a full €250 cleaning fine. Even when we queried it, we were told that it was because we had not reported it immediately. ( I was asleep, not sure how I could have). €250 is unacceptably steep for replacing two pillow. I would not recommend, unless you know you will be on perfect behaviour.
Spent three days in Munich. Stayed here and found it to be s great location, great staff and excellent breakfast offerings. The fitness center is good, loved the spa. The train station is across the street. We'd stay again!
We stayed at the Le Meridien Munich for three nights in October. As SPG Platinum Members we were given a nice quiet room that faced the courtyard. The room was clean, newer, and Modern. The Platinum breakfast amenity included a wonderful full breakfast buffet with outstanding service. The hotel is literally steps from the train station and tram stops, which made it easy to arrive from the airport and get around town. In addition, most of the historic sites in Munich are within walking distance of the hotel. Our primary concern with the hotel was the seedy area that surrounds the hotel. I need to be clear that I never felt threatened by the homeless folks that hung around the area, but it did make us feel a bit uncomfortable at times. Overall, we highly recommend the hotel to SPG members for both business travelers and vacation guests.
Pricey for the quality, nice service staff, but rooms, breakfast and bar not really worth what they charge. Rooms are large and comfortable, staff good English, everything there you need but a three star, not four star.
we stayed three nights on points during last weekend of Oktoberfest; as expected, the hotel was very clean and staff very friendly; location was perfect for us as it's across the street from the main train station and a 15 minute walk from the fairgrounds; we'd definitely stay here again; as SPG Gold I expected an upgrade and we were moved to a larger "basic" room (in past Gold got us a suite in Europe but guessing they were booked due to Oktoberfest); concierge helped us get table tickets for one of the nights and was very helpful answering our questions; no complaints about this hotel
