Westin Grand Munich Arabellapark
- What's Included
I have stayed at many Westin hotel, but this one doesn't give you that refreshing feeling of a home away from home when you are on the road. In the room I had thr carpets were really dirty and moldy, water running from the shower all over the flower onto the carpets and the room interior is just old. This hotel needs some serious updating. There's also a big construction outside which increases the traffic a lit, and with tourist buses the access to a taxi took 15 minutes and no bell man was there to help.
Old hotel. Room was transferred from smoking to non smoking. Mold in bathroom. Chipped mirror where at handle of closet. Bath not draining well. Restaurant smelled like burned grease. Never again. Stay across the street in the Sheraton instead!
After several years I returned to the Westin Grand and received the most wonderful welcome The friendliness of all associates was overwhelming and we enjoyed the upgrade to a well designed suite with a amazing view over the entire city and access to the Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor My favourite restaurant Paulaner on the ground level with the outside beer garden remains one the most outstanding Bavarian style restaurant with delicious food in Munich Great Pool and Spa area to relax Whenever in Munich I definitely return
Its a big and bustling hotel, popular with conferences, cruises, airlines crew and corporates. The hotel has about 630 rooms and 20 meeting rooms.Check in and check out was smooth. Our breakfast (for conference delegates) was arranged at the basement restaurant. Airlines crew also had a separate breakfast arrangement. Thoughtful. This saves the regular traveller from crowded breakfasts. The conference facilities are good. Compliments to the Westin Grand staff for handling our event so well.Good breakfast. Wide choice of cheese, meats, breads and fruits. The omlette counter had a lively, cheerful chef who tossed up great fluffy omlettes. The staff especially at the restaurant was friendly, efficient and prompt. The rooms are well sized and the bed is comfortable.Close to Marienplatz (15 minutes by cab;10 Euros for Uber, 16 for regular taxis). There is a taxi stand across the street and taxis are usually available except for peak hours. Also taxis keep coming in regularly. An advantage. The concierge is helpful and is prompt in calling one if required.Except for the housekeeping : no refill of bottled water, no refill of tea bags/coffee/diary whitener during my 3 nights stay.An unhinged curtain not fixed.(i would have rated the hotel 5 stars but for these shortcomings).Room service, however small the chore, attracts a charge.A good stay. Recommended.
Most disappointing. We have stayed in Westin Hotels previously so hoped for something special, it wasn't. The hotel has a jaded feel to it and look at the photo for the standard of the bed making. For a short stay in the city the position was not good, not for the short stay holidaymaker, probably OK if you are on business.Goulash soup at the bar was excellent but we do not appreciate the barman giving us wine with hands over the top of the glass, more training is needed.
