My husband is a platinum spg member. We normally stay at the westin because of the service. We were looking at other spg hotel in the cbd but we would like to be loyal to westin and we know what to expect. This hotel is not in the cbd area but you can use an underground train and takes about 10 minutes this includes walking from the hotel to the station. It is only 5 stops and you are there. When we arrive we were greeted by the porter. Went to the reception and was greeted by this wonderful receptionist wearing a traditional german dress. She was so helpful and she check us in but our room is not ready yet. It was about 12pm. Since we would like to go out there is no hurry for the room. We went to the concierge and book some tour and we need some information. Maximillian was so helpful, went above and beyond to look for flights trains for us. Amazing young guy. Thomas from concierge suggested some great places which we enjoyed and easy to find. Our room was just being clean by the time we left the hotel to go to cbd. Of course when we come back our bags are in the room already. We were upgraded to a suite room and have some pretzels, lollies and beer ready for us. We are in 1632 which is a newly renovated, with lounge and dining and guest bathroom. What a treat. We also have an access in the club lounge. All of the f&b staff in the lounge are so polite. The range of food is ample. You can have breakfast in the lounge or at the lobby restaurant. We went to the lobby redtaurant and all staff were great except on the third day when i greeted and ordered fried eggs. The breakfast chef didnt say or acknowledge anything i guess she heard me because she gave me what i ordered. We went for dinner at -1 bavarian restaurant. The food was big but i find the service is not the best but just ok. Housekeeping staff are so polite anf clening our room was good. Their cleaning trolley was so well arrange and coordinated. Chevk out was fast and thanks Anna S at reception for a great hospitality.
I stayed here while on a budiness trip to Munich. The service was excellent and the room was great. It is close to both the tram and subway but a little further from the city center than I would have preferred. The breakfast was delicious but pricey.
This is a return visit for me to this hotel. I find it dependable and well run. Excellent recognition as a SPG platinum. Every staff interaction was superb. Love the club with the great view! The German restaurant was a blast, if a bit expensive. Only complaint is the hotel is not near any of the Munich sights, but a safe location with nearby public transport. Glad I selected this fine hotel!
This is a really great Westin. It has been revamped and it really is shining. The service is impecable, but what really is top of the line is the club lounge. Quite few hotels have this quality. The location of the hotel is perfect.
Stayed on the 13th floor, worthwhile asking for a high floor. Had a standard room, though no complaints, good quality furnishings/ bed, bathroom was good quality, however the shower pressure was pretty disappointing (maybe should've stayed on a lower floor). Breakfast was perfect with great service, very helpful and not in your face. Receptionist was very welcoming and patient. Would stay again.
