Westin Grand Munich Arabellapark
- What's Included
We booked two connecting Club rooms not knowing what the Club facilities would be like but knowing we would need the extra facilities for our family of four and loads of luggage. The Club rooms were on the SPG floor (18) and the rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Large bathrooms with separate shower and bath. Both easy to access and good for bathing kids. Good storage, hangers that can be removed from the cupboard, good extra seating and space for writing. Very comfortable beds and excellent adjustable air conditioning ( after weeks of travelling through the countryside in summer this was very nice). Both our rooms faced the autobahn side but aside from a slight occasional road hum, were quiet and good for sleep. The curtains were blackout but did not quite seal in the corners - we wedged pillows in place to keep them shut as our daughter is light sensitive and getting her to sleep can be an issue in summer. There are not many electronic standby lights in the room and the few can be turned off or covered to ensure your children are not obthered. The Club lounge serves breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner ( canapés and ample got food for dinner). It is in the 23 rd floor.Breakfast was a range of hot and continental food. Afternoon tea is cakes, etc as well as beer and sparkling wine. Dinner is canapés, hot food options, dessert, cheese, and refreshments. Enough food to feed children and even adults. What aslso stood out for us about the Club lounge is that the evening service is from 6pm to 9pm. We have stayed at other brand clubs before and they are not usually as welcoming. The staff were all friendly and very willing to help. The hotel has a lovely and large indoor pool (with pool noodles for exercise or children to use). It accesses a lovely garden sunbathing area, and has its own health dedicated bar, as well as the spa, gym, sauna etcAlso at the hotel was a pub, and deli/ patisserie, as well as all the usual restaurants. The front desk and concierge staff were very welcoming. We had to bring our own bags in from outside, but thereafter had constant assistance. The hotel is in a good location. Only a couple of minutes to the subway, then 10 minutes to Marienplatz or Odenplatz. Easy to find if you have a hire car.We enjoyed it very much and would stay again.
The hotel is expensive and sufficiently nice. Rooms are of average size and the beds are good. The breakfast is in-line with the class of the hotel. The expensive Internet (why is there nonferrous Internet to start with?) didn't work for more than 5 minutes without breaking down. It was a permanent annoyance and didn't allow effective working. Unfortunately, the staff was not able to fix the problem.A call to the US costs incredible €7.50 per minute and Skype was not an option. Does this hotel know, that we are in the 2000s already?
After flying in from Canada to Munich we found our rooms ready and the check in was simple. No waiting until 3:00PM for our rooms which was awesome after such a long flight. Breakfast is buffet style where the staff are smiling and the food plentiful and varied. There are restaurants nearby to go out to for supper or lunch. There is also a huge food store within walking distance that sells excellent wine and beer. The hotel is well situated to the metro and bus that will take you wherever you want to go. Checkout was easy and we would certainly return to this hotel.
There is something about a Westin property, they never fail to impress you.The property is great with excellent staff. They have always been consistent. There is a Bavarian restaurant called Paulaner.which has a good offering, however the Coffee shop and room service has good choices too.The spa and sauna is a great place to rejuvenate. The property is close to s metro and is surrounded by decent restaurantsand also Rewe supermarket.
We spent two nights here in a room with a comfortable king size bed in early June. The room was well appointed, clean, bright, quiet, and spacious with two large windows in the corner of the room. There was a problem with the air conditioning fan which was attended to and repaired within 20 minutes after calling the front desk. An included breakfast buffet that featuring local European choices and American style choices was excellent. The front desk and concierge were very helpful with directions, dining recommendations, and tickets for the trolley and subway. Dining and grocery are convenient, only a short walk from the hotel. The trolley and subway are very close, safe, with only a short ride to Marianplatz and the Hofbrau House. Highly recommend
