Very nice hotel although some rooms a bit weared out and hallways quite dark. Some rooms have view on Acropolis, so does the pool and restaurant. The breakfast service is just perfect. Nice location not too far away from the center. 20minuten walk from syntigma square and from there in the middle of everything...
I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights in mid August and i was really let down. First thing and this is not a joke. The entrance is quite nice with those dead tree logs but be careful! Don't touch or lean against them unless you want to find out how easily they can fall down,The rooms were old and the one i stayed in could use some new furnitures, ones with no scratches and fadin varnish on them, definitely needed new wallpaper to replace the existing one that looked as old as some of the marvellous ancient buildings in the city of Athens. Bathroom was old too and could use some new tiles and something to stop the water from flooding the floor when taking a shower. At some point i thought i had a private mini pool right in my room! BUt i guess this is why i paid so much for my room. The pool area was nice and water looked crystal clear, definitely bigger than i expected but the shower area was 5 or 10 steps down from the pool level and it was a risky -slippery- task to go get a shower on wet feet down there. Breakfast was definitly a plus with lots of choices and good service and so was the menu for lunch and dinner. What i was left with when i checked out was that it s a pity for such a nice and big building, placed so close to the city center to look in such desperate need for renovation. The thing that made me write this review though was the people working there, very helpful and well mannered. Especially two people, one guy at the reception desk - think his name was Antonis if i spell it right- was very helpful in giving me directions to go to the nearest beach and even bothered to ask me how my "trip" there was when he saw me the other day. The other person was Irene who served me during dinner, and then breakfast and then (!) lunch time, always rushing to cater to my needs with a smile on, and always polite and professional like staff in 5 star hotels. To finish this off, only reason i will stay in this hotel is only for the people and not for the building itself.
We stayed for one night in a Business Class room. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the room itself was pretty dire. I can excuse the tacky and dated decor, but the broken bathroom fixtures, peeling paintwork, signs of mould and mysterious stains on the walls, curtains and headboard were enough to turn my stomach.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. I always enjoy the Radisson Blu Service. The pool area is nice but too windy.Very comfortable beds and pillows. I love their Shampoos (different from other RadissonBlu - greek brand). The only negative I would consider for the hotel is the location. The hotel is located very close to city centre (just 2 stops with metro) - but it is not centrally located! Metro station is 10 mins walk from the hotel. There are no plugs next to the bed, difficult to charge your phone/laptop while laying in bed.Rooms need renovation - especially the bathroom. BATHROPES should be provided in all rooms.
Stayed two nights at this hotel and it was absolutely lovely and clean and the staff were ever so friendly. The location was perfectly central for our needs which was to go sight seeing. Breakfast was lovely and the coffee/lattes were amazing:)
