The resort is stunning. The staff are welcoming, friendly and cheerful. The restaurants are great as is the food and service although slower in some than in others. We had a sea-viewing room in the Pink Gin block which was kept scrupulously clean by our room attendant who met us daily with a happy smile and seemed to enjoy chatting with us.On a couple of days there was some issue with the beach-towel supply so choosing and 'securing' a lounger on the beach was difficult. The differentials between the various 'grades' of holiday were very obvious and rightly or wrongly created a slight impression of 'haves and have nots' with butlers and other attendants catering specifically for their particular clients. The entertainment was very, very good and Ginger and her Team deserve to be commended. Ginger's warmth and kindness in particular, helped take the edge off the matters that disappointed us most.We chose to go to this Resort to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had registered this event with our Booking Agent prior to travelling and did likewise with Reception on our arrival. On booking to dine for our 'special occasion dinner' we were also asked if we were celebrating anything in particular and told the attendant that we were indeed. Having been told, "We will make a note of that" we rather expected some notice to be taken that evening - however, sadly, nothing did. Our expectations were not great but even a flower on the table would have made a difference. On the following day we toured the beautiful Island guided by a very very knowledgeable Islander and had a super eight hours in the company of 10 other guests. On our return trip we had a rain storm. On arrival at the resort there was a group of 'fellow guests' in the Living Room bar area, still in their beach-wear, clearly under the influence of too much to drink yet still having a shots war at the bar and communicating with each other at a range of two or less feet at a level approaching 70dB which was clearly disturbing to the majority of others in the area. Accepting that I may be grumping as older men do, and, at the same time, recognising the right of holidaymakers, on occasion, to make utter fools of themselves, I found it strange to note that there seemed to be no protocol to deal with such behaviour. On another occasion we witnessed similar behaviour pattern at the 'swim up' bar and again no apparent protocol to deal with it.Although this report may seem leaning towards the negative it is only intended to highlight the matters that disturbed us and could do the same to others.I would repeat that the Resort is truly beautiful and has everything imaginable to offer. The staff are excellent - notwithstanding the communication matters regarding our anniversary - and are always willing to help. We did have an enjoyable stay and would recommend LaSource to others.
My husband & I arrived on Dec. 21, 2016. Our first week was our "Free Week" for 70 Paid nights. We stayed in the South Seas Waterfall Suites w/ Balcony & Plunge Pool. Room 6207 to be exact. These newly renovated rooms are breathtaking !! Normally we prefer to be Oceanview / Beachfront Walk-Out & this room did not disappoint. Housekeeping does a superb job & the advance door system where you press "Do Not Disturb" or "Housekeeping" makes for an excellent advance in privacy or having your room made up during the time(S) you wish. The Bartenders at the South Seas Pool were a blast Day & night. We enjoyed many spectacular breakfasts at Cucina Romano. Slightly disoriented our first few days, we met a LOVELY Housekeeper during our walks. Her name is Vernell Williams. Normally one, let alone a couple would not be so pleased by the mere presence of a Housekeeper, right.... Much to our surprise, every day was, "Hello Mr & Mrs Stevens ! Are you enjoying ?" Very knowledgeable about the Resort, the amenities, the restaurants (suggested Le Jardinier for Eggs Benedict for my husband, his favorite !!) And so it became our norm to speak with Vernel in passing daily. Please know, many employees there also wowed us !! Candace makes your day at the Beach or Pool worth every red cent you paid for on vacation ! If possible, that young lady would custom order weather just to make you happy ! Rachel from Neptune's adds the at home quirk you might miss along w/ Caribbean giggles. Whitney....amazing, loving, professional, a total class act ! Day or night, Whitney, Candace, & Rachel are there to ensure you are receiving 6 Star Service & opulence. We found when it came to order & direction, Nordica & Vernel were most helpful. Anything you need behind the scenes from a beach towel to a wash cloth to a Bloody Mary, these ladies knew which direction to send you in. Class acts. Cafe de Paris offered us Nigel. Please order yourself an Frozen Coffee & tell Nigel I sent you. Best Frozen Coffee ever....hands down. All our dinners were spectacular ! Kimono's took the top of my husbands list due to his love for Saki. Christine the manager was a sweetheart & Lovey kept the drinks flowing. Word to the wise, bring your social game & smile so your other joining guests can also have fun with you. Butch's : Lobster !! Excellent. Feel free to order any cut of beef you choose with your surf & turf, your not limited. Le Jardinier : Who could not live Rudy, the atmosphere or the meals. Magnificent !! Neptune's : always a pleasure ! Hug Whitney & Rachel if you see themTipsy Turtle : Christy is the absolute best bartender for the restaurant settings ! Food was delicious, pub or not if you are in the snobbier side. Spice's : Legendary service with a twist, happy & genuine employees ! The food Morning or evening will delight you so don't be bummed if you cannot get reservations at one of your choices & instead Dine here. In the Living Room you want to see Anthony for drinks !!! Anthony is the man, a true mixologist, & a friend. Always a good time & a smile. He makes the party happen. Ask for a "Girl Beer" if you like champagne...Pools & Beach all kept clean. Never overcrowded & we stayed until 1/4/16. That's 2 Consecutive major holidays with loungers, cabanas, floats, sun, & shadeLike Football ??? Visit the Library off the side of the living room. You will Thank Me !! From 12/27-1/4 we moved on to our Pink Gin Oceanfront/Beachfront room, 1113. Just as we remembered & longed for from our last visit Dec. '13-Jan.'14 during their soft opening !!! Pure Bliss waking up to the sound of the Ocean !! One major peeve I noticed a HUGE improvement with was the attention to the room as far as Housekeeping, Beverages, & Operations. Again, I ran into Vernel who was often our Housekeeper. Others did a very good job however, she took pride in her work & we knew when Vernell tended to our room. I wish I got the name of the young man who stocked our beverages. He remembered to bring me 2 bottles of champagne daily without prompting. Always courteous, friendly, & aiming to please !!! Overall, & I was a tough critic when there for their soft opening 3 years prior still giving 5 stars, La Source, Grenada is our go to for paradise. We have been traveling the Caribbean for 11 years now & cannot recommend La Source enough. Congratulations to Mr. Peter Frazier & all of his staff ! If you are looking for a fun excursion that will not absorb your entire day, try to Dune Buggy Tour !! We had a blast & returned in time to enjoy lunch & some relaxation on the beach ! Thank you again & a lifetime of success to all the employees mentioned. You truly made our vacation !!!
We had a wonderful holiday at Sandals Le Source in Grenada. Having stayed in one of the more expensive premium accommodations (1 Bed Butler Villa with Private Pool), there were a few minor issues which could have been dealt with better, as follows: One of our Butler's was very accommodating. However, the other Butler was completely inefficient and everything we asked of him seemed to be difficult to accommodate. He would never come back to you with a response to let you know if he had dealt with it or not. Our schedule was booked in advance before we arrived and it had been arranged for us to go to dinner every evening between 6.00pm/6.30pm which was way too early. Changing the schedule to dine at our preferred time proved to be taxing! Housekeeping was erratic - some days our villa would not be cleaned until 5.00pm - other days it would be done earlier but never the same time each day. Topping up of supplies was also erratic up to the point that we had to contact Housekeeping to voice our concerns. Given that this was a very expensive luxury holiday, attention to these small details would have made our stay more enjoyable. Our private villa was also located quite close to the main "party" pool which played music every day until around 5.00pm and was generally quite noisy. We understand that Sandals Le Source is a slightly smaller Resort that than other Sandals Resorts and you are generally much closer to everything so noise can be an issue. Other rooms were located much closer to the main Living Room area where music was played until 1.00am every evening. Luckily our Villa was located away from this area so we could not hear the entertainment. However, overall our first experience of a Sandals holiday was superb and we are already planning our next Sandals vacation. The staff at Le Source were extremely helpful and friendly and very complimentary - service in restaurants etc could not be faulted. We are already recommending Sandals to others for their holiday destination.
We were at Sandals to celebrate our Anniversary! We have stayed at many Sandals resorts, but not LaSource. We enjoyed our vacation!! We stayed in the Pink Gin area of the resort. Our room was an oceanfront room with a balcony! If you want to be directly on the ocean, stay in a Pink Gin room! Our room was kept clean and refrigerator was always stocked with drinks, which was very nice. If you enjoy being active on your vacation, this is a good resort for activities! My husband enjoyed the pool volleyball every day, and there were also other activities throughout the day. Kimony, and the other playmakers did a good job with the activities. We also enjoyed the entertainment at night! Alexia and the rest of the group are very talented!! Take the time to enjoy the nightly entertainment! I have some special dietary needs, and Caprice, did an excellent job of ensuring that my needs were met. If you have dietary needs, see Caprice at the dietary desk when you arrive. She will take special care of you!! The Pastry Chef, Anthony, did a wonderful job of making desserts for me that met my dietary requirements and they were so, so good!! I also would like to thank Mr. Cassius, a grounds attendant, who assisted Caprice!! We enjoyed the Italian restaurant for breakfast. I cannot remember the omelette maker's name, but she took special care of me and my husband every morning! The staff there at breakfast was also very attentive to us and saw that we were taken care of. For lunch and dinner we enjoyed Neptunes! The restaurant is right on the beach, and again, the staff was friendly and attentive. We also loved Butches for Steaks! We went there for our anniversary and several other meals. Don't miss the French restaurant for dinner!! We found the food there for dinner to be excellent. It's worth dressing up for!! The only place we didn't really like for dinner was Spices. We ate dinner there only once.We did go to the spa. The attendant there, Quaver, was always friendly and happy to assist us. I have special health needs, and Osmond, my massage therapist, went out of his way to assist me and talk with me. His care and concern was much appreciated. While at the resort, we booked another Sandals stay for next year! You can save money by doing so! See Ritchie, he took good care of us!All and all we had a wonderful vacation!! Having friendly, happy staff, helps to make your vacation a great one
I was persuaded as my daughter visited last year and enjoyed greatly. First AI and has a slightly Disney-esque feel with staff so well trained and such a choice of activities and eating and drinking places. Stayed in junior suite in south sea hideaway which had a nice neighbourhood pool. Didn't miss our own pool or butler, no hassle to go down to bar for drinks. Especially enjoyed French restaurant and special thanks to our waitress Deana who went out of her way to be helpful
