we cannot stop telling friends and family about our experience. This resort was BEYOND top notch! The butler elite service was worth EVERY penny and then some! And our wedding planner (Deanette) went over and above our every expectation! This resort really knows what they are doing when it comes to keeping their customers happy...side note food/drink was amazing-and being from NY we KNOW what good food is and this resort did. It disappoint. Our biggest regret--we didn't book more days! You will NOT be disappointed staying here!!
Had a club level room with air conditioner in need of repair. Room was not ready when we arrived, and we were told it was because of problem with a/c. Person who showed us to room said it was making a little vibration noise which she tried to show us, but workers were outside door with a leaf blower so couldn't tell. However, first night and duration of week, a/c made a loud gurgling noise. Maintenance people said this was due to an air leak and unit also needed a new motor. Both of these issues were not repaired until Friday afternoon, and we were leaving Saturday. We left messages several times for repair during the week. This room was a club level room which we greatly overpaid for.
Let me start by saying thank you to my butlers Jelani and kervin you made John and my stay truly amazing. Always making sure restaurant reservations where done, cooler was full and our room was stocked with all our favorite beverages. Thank you to everyone who works at this resort you all do an excellent job. My room was always spotless, landscaping beautiful and most of the people I encountered on my trip where friendly and accommodating only a couple of people clearly needed a refresher course on hospitality. Well this was our 2nd free trip to a sandals resort and we couldn't have had a better room. We where in the Italian village swim out pool suite room 3205 which has the best ocean view and easy walk to the beach. Now for the restaurants breakfast at Cucina Romana was the best..wonderful buffet with an omelet station indoor seating.. French was also nice with indoor seating, spices was indoor and outdoor seating no a/c looked to hot to even try. We had dinner reservations for every night except Tuesday the return guest dinner. Which was not the best sandals return guest dinner was held in 2 separate rooms they do not have a large enough area to accommodate everyone together. Food was good but once seated never saw the GM Peter again normally being a diamond member you either sit at his table or he stops at yours to ensure everything is going well with your stay. Let's just say there is a reason it's so difficult to get into Butch's went there twice and the food was very good.. it was a little warm in the restaurant so dress accordingly. Cucina/ Italian was also delicious loved the rice balls..but skip the meatballs not that..good a/c worked well. The French also very good..chicken cordon bleu was delicious good a/c. Tipsy turtle ok food but fun to hang out at. Most of the night activities are outdoors at the"living room". Neptunes is excellent restaurant for lunch right off the beach and nice breeze. Dino's pizzeria is one of the best "sandals pizzas"I have had. We had no problem with flies if u decide to have lunch on the beach. Did not eat at kimonos heard food wasn't great and warm inside but did sound like fun.Now for the beach I was surprised it was so nice looks small from photos water was clear and beach never felt crowded we did have to get up by 0630 to save chairs in the shade. Did not hang out at the pools since we had our own pool right outside our room. The grounds are beautiful and resort is larger then expected. The best part is the airport is only 5 minutes away and don't worry u can't hear the planes. Overall very nice and much needed vacation..
Couple: early 30's1 week from March 18th to March 25thPink Gin Walk out room on the beach, club levelSecond Sandals experienceHad a wonderful week, met many great couples and had an amazing time. The food was amazing everywhere and the staff was super friendly. You can tell they work very hard at their jobs. They truly do their best to go above and beyond what they're asked. A special shoutout to Steven, Japera, Shamok, and Joel in the entertainment staff, they went out of their way to get to know the guests and deserve to be recognized for their hard work. The only setback we had the whole week was with club sandals staff messing up our dinner reservation at Kimono's. We scheduled Butch's and Kimonos ahead of time upon arrival and watched them pencil us on at both places. When we arrived at Kimonos for our reservation they had no record of us making one and were already fully booked. When we addressed club sandals the morning after, 4 people looked at us with blank stares with no explanation or an apology. This one instance could have been handled better. The club staff was very helpful after that point with helping us schedule other activities. Water sports staff very helpful--Delion is great! Try the jerk chicken at Neptunes--incredible!The pink gin room was dark but the walkout feature was great for the days we stayed on the beach and could come and go as we pleased. Will definitely return to this resort!
We stayed at Sandals La Source Grenada in March 2017. We had a Pink Gin Walk out room (club level) with a tranquility tub. The room was nice, but oddly enough it did not have a door to the bathroom. The patio was awesome as was the tranquility tub which we used every night. A walkout to the beach was super convenient. I would recommend this room if you want to be as close as possible to the ocean. We left our patio door unlocked all day so we could just walk a few steps back to the room if we needed instead of going all the way around to our front door. Beach: Small and private. It was never a problem getting spots on the beach. Even though we claimed our chairs early, we didn’t need to. It is private, so nobody bothers you to buy their goods. Occasionally, vendors will walk up the beach to try and sell ‘spice necklaces’ but they are only allowed to go so far, so they don’t bug you at your seats. The beach is very rocky. We could not jump around in the waves because there are huge rocks all over the place, which was no fun. The beach was also dirty. There were lots of cigarette butts, straws, pieces of plastic glasses, and even a champagne bottle cork. There is only one guy at the end of the day with a rake trying to clean up. Sandals really needs to consider a better maintenance system for keeping the beach clean. When you pay as much as you do to stay at a Sandals, you should not have to worry about walking through garbage on the beach. You can’t always count on tourists to pick up after themselves or heaven forbid, walk 10 steps to put a cigarette butt in the garbage/ashtrays all over the place. Pools: We did not hang out at the pools, but everyone seemed to be having a good time at the party pool. If you’re a pool person, I would get your chairs very early in the morning. Towels: There were NEVER ANY TOWELS IN THE MORNING! It was frustrating. Literally, when everyone is getting ready to go to the beach or pool, there were no towels. They stocked up the towel bins in the evening. So, be prepared and grab towels when you see them, otherwise you are out of luck.Food: Not as good as it should be. Butch’s is highly overrated. We had reservations for 2 nights, but were underwhelmed with our steaks, so we cancelled the second reservation. The Italian restaurant was okay, but nothing spectacular. We did not like the French restaurant at all. Soy was the best, and we ate there most of the time. Basically, I feel the food at Sandals is not as good as it once was. We have been to 6 different Sandals resorts and have been used to being ‘blown away’ by the food. Not so much anymore. It seems like the high quality of the food is going down. The pizza is awesome though, no complaints.Service: Inconsistent. Some restaurants we not as attentive when compared to other Sandals resorts. On two occasions my husband asked for coffee for breakfast and it never arrived. At dinner, he did not receive the beer he ordered, twice. And normally, if you drink wine, you never see the bottom of the glass, except for here. We had to ask for refills. At Butch’s restaurant, every other table received bread except for us. Our room did not receive turn-down service 3 nights, even though it said that we would have it every night. We had to ask for more toilet paper and they only gave us one hand towel most of the days. When you pay as much as you do at a Sandals, you shouldn’t have to ask for more toilet paper. Grounds: This is a beautiful resort, no doubt about it. Lots of luscious greenery and colorful flowers. Lots of nice places to hang out. The place really is gorgeous. The drive from the airport is literally 2 minutes long, which is very nice.
