This was our second time back to this resort. We enjoyed it so much the first time we knew we wanted to return. Peter Fraser - the General Manager does an outstanding job. It was due to him we felt a repeat was necessary. We were upgraded to a Butler suite which was an unexpected surprise. We want to acknowledge a few of the team members. Our pool side bartenders: Kareem with his amazing 'shots' and personality, Mandee, Terrance and Delroy did a wonderful job keeping everyone happy and hydrated. The playmakers kept us entertained daily. Reshauan and Richie did a great job in the Travel and Leisure Dept. (yes we booked for next year) Brent the butler was amazing on or off hover board ;-) Thank you all for a fabulous trip.
Hotel meets the Sandals overall star rating however if you dislike climbing hills then maybe not the Sandals or island for you. (Although if you have a room on a higher level and physically can't manage the walk up ,some one would run you up there in a golf cart if you ask) The service was good at bars and restaurants and food great, but if I had to choose ,the French restaurant Le Jardin smoked them all. We stayed in the Romeo & Juliette suites with infinity pool and hot tub. Kudos to housekeeping!!! Butler service was as good as most Sandals resorts and a big thank you goes out to Ifori and Marlon who made us chuckle. Nite - Ifori knows his wines.... The grounds were by far the best kept from other Sandals resorts we've been to, these guys do a spectacular job in keeping them pristine and should be commended, after all isn't that what we want to see when we walk through the grounds. All in all great spot we'd consider going to again.
Where do I even begin?! We stayed at Sandals LaSource from the 15th – 21st of April and had the time of our lives! Since we booked the trip nearly a year prior to our departure, I spent most of the time reading reviews and preparing for any hiccups that may occur once we arrived. I can honestly say that I would really have to dig for something to complain about, since everything was top-notch. Room: We had a South Seas Waterfall Walkout Junior Suite (WWJS). The room was directly on the other side of the hot-tub near the “activity pool” with the swim-up bar. I’ve read many people complaining about the noise in this area, so allow me to clarify: During the day/afternoon, yes, it’s typically noisy. People drinking and carrying on, playing volleyball, etc. However, from our room (6108), we barely noticed. We took a nap one day in the afternoon and weren’t bothered at all by the noise. The best part about this room, was after about 6pm and all the activities die down (and everyone who has been drinking all day is asleep), it was completely quiet. We slept great each night and were never bothered by the noise. Plus, having a somewhat private pool only 3 feet from your door made the room totally worth it. The bed was comfy, the fridge was always stocked (no booze, but there was more than enough available at any of the bars/restaurants), and we were very comfortable. The power did cut off twice while we were there, but it was back on within a few minutes.Restaurants/food/bars: This was my favorite part! ALL of the restaurants and food were incredible! The quality and variety of food was much better than what I expected. Spices had several different buffets while we were there, ranging from Caribbean, to Asian, to Italian, to English. Kimonos was a blast! Butches was incredible, although the lobster was a little overcooked. Neptune’s was great with an awesome location right on the beach. And Café de Paris was a regular stop at least twice a day for iced coffee and sweet treats. The hot dog cart was really good as well! All of the bars were fine. I’m not a big drinker, so it doesn’t take much to keep me happy in that department. There were one or two ties when the bar got busy that it took a little longer to get a drink, but that happens anywhere you go. There were always special drinks for each day and each of the restaurants had their own signature drinks. I recommend the Sake Cruise ;) We also had a private, candlelit dinner one night which was amazing and very romantic. Activities: The only activity we did was the ATV tour, and we had a blast! They take you around the island, both on and off road, and you get to swim in Annandale Falls as the halfway point. It was worth the price and we would absolutely do it again!Wedding: We got married while we were there on April 20th (yes, 420). The wedding staff was incredible and we couldn’t have asked for better treatment! The day was beautiful and the staff went out of their way to ensure our happiness. We especially want to thank Deanette, Jennifer and Finton, who couldn’t have been nicer and always had a smile on their faces! Which brings me to my next point…Tipping: So, everywhere you look on their website it says “no tipping” and employees even where buttons that say “no tipping”. That said, we didn’t bring very much cash with us, especially since we were at an “all-inclusive” resort that promotes no tipping. However I will say that there are many people who deserve tips and who we should have tipped, if we would have had cash on us. People like Deanette, Jennifer, Finton, and our server for our private dinner, Betty. There is no ATM on site and the closest was at the airport, which would have required a taxi and time away from our very expensive “all-inclusive” experience. I feel terrible about not tipping these folks, so my advice is to bring at least a few hundred dollars who those who go above and beyond, which is just about everyone there. All in all, we had an incredible week at Sandals LaSource! So much so, that while we were on site, we booked a return trip for next year. Which, if you book a future stay while on property, they give you an excellent rate on. We met and made some amazing friends on our stay (Dave and Rachel, John and Cheryl, Bill and Cara, Julie and Arthur, Rick and Jenn) and hope to run into some of the same folks during reunion week next year when we return! I could go on and on. I highly recommend this resort and can’t wait to go back!!
My boyfriend and I spend a week at the beautiful Sandals Grenada for my birthday from 1st April-8th this was our first Sandals experience The airport is literally 2 minutes away so your enjoying that cocktail within momentsWe had a beautiful room in the Italian Village which was spotless - a nice touch to have the minibar refilled everyday! As it was my birthday my boyfriend arranged for a birthday cake for me - it did come nearly 2 hours late but it was still a nice touch and was a beautiful cake - thank you!My boyfriend loved how close the airport was - plane geek! They don't cause any noise disruption and is nice to hear themBARS/RESTAURANTS - AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! 5**** we loved it all, we didn't really see the hype about the French restaurant and only ate dinner there the once and then gave it a miss. Neptune's offers the best steak we have personally ever tasted (and we thought South Africa did it good!!), service was great - always offering drinks and bringing to us before we had finished, the Teppanyaki was such fun - very cold inside but great fun - loved it!POOLS - the 'American' pool is the one at the back with the pool bar and loud music - and the 'British/ Other Nationalities and quieter American's' was the front next to the beach. Much quieter and could actually relax - the guys who brought the drinks around were great!! - THANKS!!BEACH - the beach is lovely, great to see the fish by the rocks at the side. We loved the jetty and spent a few evenings sitting there watching the sun going down. The snorkelling trip only ran once while we were there as it was a red flag - they take you out to the next hotels beach and then you snorkel back - all free of charge - lovely trip thanks!Couple of down sides....ENTERTAINMENT - very American focused! the beach party every Friday wasn't great! Food was great but the entertainment is something else - we left after 15 minutes and went to the café du Paris for ice cream and all we heard was the host shouting - 'OMG HE'S DOING A STRIP TEASE' - not what we really expected! We walked past afterwards and as you can imagine most people had left! The dancers and quiz was great though so only that let it down!PHOTOGRAPHS - you are hassled abit by the photo shop men trying to take photos of you constantly, abit of annoyance during meals seeing flash flash flash and when relaxing in the pool but as soon as you say no thank you they leave you alone for a bitOverall we will definitely be back to Sandals - looking forward to trying another island in the near future and hopefully for longer next time!THANKYOU!!
My wife and I traveled to Sandals LaSource Grenada for our 15 year anniversary. It was perfect. The resort, staff, food, drinks, and activities were fantastic. We stayed for a week and tried all but one restaurant. They have several restaurants to choose from and all of them were great. The excursions on the island were great too, the people of Grenada were extremely friendly and gracious. If you want to get away and relax this is the place to go. Nice pools and beaches, plenty of activities for everyone. I would definitely recommend and go back.
