We just returned from a week at LaSource. The property, food and amenities are fantastic. We were in HPO - Oceanfront Honeymoon Penthouse Club Level Room in Building 1 of the Pink Gin Village. If you go, make certain your room number is NOT 1302. The room is lovely. I would characterize the room as partial ocean view (had to lean out over balcony to see). Also, it is tucked behind higher room numbers so there is absolutely no breeze. Nightly, there were concerts/entertainment in the Living Room (open air venue). Because of our location, the noise/music would reverberate off our balcony wall. Super loud. At least it would stop around 11 p.m. The photo shows our room. Would love to go back to Grenada, but just too difficult to get there from Michigan. A note of caution also. We ran out of Chapstick - $8 in the gift shop. Bring extra.
We just came back after 10 days at Sandals Grenada having one of the best vacations made possible by the unbelievable staff , great food, excellent lodging at this Resort. We dive, so we spent a lot of time working with the dive shop and we both upgraded our PADI certifications. The instructors were amazing and worked with us to make sure this was an enjoyable experience as well as keeping us safe. The dive boat is on property and the dive sites are minutes away. Grenada has an underwater Marine Park, a Sculpture Park, and many wrecks that you can drive on. The dive sites are from 40-50 feet to 100 and 130 ft. The amount of fish that we saw was unbelievable. My only recommendation was that Sandals invested in the dive shop by upgrading the location of where the cylinders are refilled, installing a ceiling fan in the dive shop because it can get hot in there and purchasing a new dive boat to accommodate the high demand that exists on this property for diving daily. The dive shop should also provide torches for purchase in the dive shop in the event the divers want to go night diving but don't have a torch. Besides diving the dune buggy tour is amazing while the whole day Jeep Tour only offers crackers for lunch after a long morning navigating the bumpy roads of Grenada. This is one of our favorite resorts. I cannot say enough about the staff who have become dear friends over our many returns here. We look forward to returning next year.
We have been here for two weeks. Amazing! We had the best butlers ever-Sylvikia, Jerlani and Renel. Attentive and very service oriented. The room, a Skye suite with a plunge pool was the nicest we had ever had, and we have done 21 Sandals trips. The beach is unbelievable, water crystal clear and warm. Two cap the week off, we were invited to a special dinner with Peter Fraser, the general manager and a group of his friends. Amazing! The food was great, especially Butch's and the maitre d Rudy. Cannot recommend this resort enough!
We visited Sandals Grenada for our 10th anniversary for seven days. This was our first week alone since having our son 8 years ago...so there were some high expectations (and hopes) for this vacation! In a nutshell, the resort and staff exceeded our expectations in every way.My first worry was that we would be the only non-honeymooners, but that was soon put to rest. A large variety of vacationers were guests. I'll sort our vacation experience by category:Room - Italian Villa Bi-Level Butler SuiteWe never had butler service before...and I think we are ruined (in a good way) for future travel! Having a butler means having all your needs met before you knew your own needs. We had a full bar in our room (yowza), 24 hour room service, and all our restaurant reservations were booked for us (at the best tables). We had a cooler full of drinks at our beach chairs waiting (w the best chairs reserved, so no need to stake your claim at 8am). The butlers are available but not overbearing. The room itself was amazing - totally redone, with a step-down (hence the 'bi-level' in the room type) living room area with a sectional couch and separate TV. The bathroom was new and very modern. The balcony has a soaking tub (with large drapes for privacy). When booking, I didn't think we would use this feature...but I was wrong, and we enjoyed it almost nightly.FoodThere are lots of restaurant choices here, so you don't get bored. The food is really exceptional. Our fave was the steak house. Incredible. The drinks are plentiful and readily available; your glass is never empty (no butler service needed). BeachWe really wanted to enjoy the beach aspect of this vacay, and the chairs were positioned perfectly with umbrellas at most. The beach itself is almost a half black sand beach. The drop off is quick, but there are large 'life raft rings' positioned strategically so that you can swim out and hang out (with cup holders for any cocktails). Just a great beach to chill out on for days.PoolsDaily we would head over about 5ish to what we called the 'newlywed pool' which has loud music and a swim up bar for our daily frozen drinks. This is the party pool, but it is far enough away so you don't hear the music if you're on the beach. There's also a calmer pool closer to the beach and without the scene, if you prefer lounging by a pool and not the beach. The pools offer a different experience for any type of traveling preference.ExcursionsWe did two excursions which I *highly* recommend. First was the snorkel/champagne day cruise. This was an amazing value and a great day spent sailing around the coast of Grenada to a sandy beach where fresh lobster and champagne was served. Truly delish. We stopped to snorkel at an underwater sculpture park and we saw lots of cool fish and sea life. Better snorkeling that we've had in Hawaii for sure!Second was the dune buggy trip through the rain forest. The tour also takes you around the island in the buggies and to a waterfall where you can jump in. My husband drove b/c it's a little crazy driving there, but it was so much fun and a great way to get a better feel for the island itself. Highly recommend.DivingMy husband dove one day and did two separate dives. He said it was a great diving experience. The water is comfortably warm and he saw a lot of sea life. Great value as the diving is included in any package.NightlifeThere are nightly shows/theme nights which was nice to know you had the option to do (but we didn't participate too much in these). Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with how our vacation turned out. I *highly* recommend this vacation option for couples looking to unwind and celebrate!
We could not have been happier with our wedding and trip to Sandals LaSource Grenada. The wedding was stress free and flawless, the pictures and video were great, and everyone that we interacted with throughout our stay was genuinely friendly and happy to help us if we needed anything. The butler service was amazing as well! We went on the Jeep trip of the island it was definitely worth it to see the rest of the beautiful island. We will absolutely be back as soon as we can!
