Exceptional service

We stayed at True Blue for a week at the end of February and have nothing but praise for this wonderful hotel. The staff members are all delightful and took the trouble to learn our names. We were always greeted with smiles and nothing was too much trouble for them. They sorted out our only problem speedily - a king sized bedroom given in error instead of the booked twin room - and their solution was amazing. The huge king sized bed was removed and replaced with twin beds! They had offered an upgrade to a waterfront suite but we preferred the location of our assigned room. The relaxed atmosphere at the hotel was perfect for us (two female friends) to unwind on our short break and the all inclusive package meant that we could choose as we saw fit from the extensive food and drinks menu. The food was always delicious and we enjoyed dining by the water and watching boats come and go. The themed evenings were fun and suitably low key and we particularly enjoyed the Street Food evening and the steel pan band. We also participated in chocolate and rum tastings! We made use of the free shuttle to the beautiful Grand Anse beach and we booked a private half day tour of the island. We were fortunate to have Edwin Frank as our guide and he was charming and a fount of knowledge about the island and its history. On other days we went out on a boat to snorkel and visited St. George with its lovely waterfront and bustling market. We were pleased to meet the hotel's owners who were always around greeting guests. They have certainly created a wonderful ethos and trained their staff to a very high standard. We were even treated to a line up of about fourteen staff, including the Manager and one of the owners, to wave us off when we departed for the airport. We felt like royalty! This is a very special place and one that we would highly recommend to others looking for a relaxing break. We would certainly return!

Ambivalence Sums It Up

The pluses and minuses left us with a general ambivalence about returning to this property in the future. We were greeted at reception by a young woman in very high heels displaying an inordinate amount of cleavage as she stood and leaned over to complete our paperwork. This exhibitionist behavior has not been our usual experience of the gracious, modest women on the island. Young men may appreciate it, but we did not. We are more interested in a family friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is truly delicious and hospitable. The waterfront location is beautiful, the buffet style and egg station are convenient and efficient. The fresh fruit, juices, coffee, breads and pastries are very good. The best part is breakfast is included in the room rate!Reservations personnel confused us with conflicting accounts: they cannot guarantee a particular room (which is what we heard at check-in) or guests can reserve their favorite room (when we were leaving and inquired about reserving a room for our next visit). We found this situation to be quite frustrating. The overall sense is that depending on the employee, the guest, the timing, or the room rate paid, the answer may be different, which left us with an overall negative experience. We had a nice room with a kitchenette. No laundry facilities are available on site for guest use. They will do your laundry for about US$3/pair of men's under shorts, so it is expensive. The restaurant for dinner is on the waterfront. It is a wonderful place to watch the magnificent sunsets since many of the rooms do not have a water view. There is almost nightly entertainment and themes for the menu choices. The Grenadian food night is a favorite of the locals.

True Blue Bay Resort in Grenada

Everything was true Caribbean. Clean and hospitality second to none. The restaurant is on the water and meals were delicious. The cooking class was fun. Close to the beach and lots to do. We hired Lawrence Celestine, 473-406-2841 to give a tour of the island and he was awesome. Everything was awesome here.

Overbooked and sent away without notification

I booked a one night stay for Feb 26, 2017 for our fist night on wedding-moon in Grenada. We had a one week stay planned for Sandals the following day but due to the airline schedule could not get into the island before 9 PM so did not want to pay Sandals daily price for the late hour in which we were arriving. This resort looked lovely online and the reviews were great so we were willing to pay $250.00 to basically sleep there. Again, it was the beginning of our wedding-moon and we wanted to start it off romantically. We arrived only to find they had overbooked and they had no room for us. They had pre-booked us with another hotel (i don't know if they were related) that was 15 minutes away and no ocean view. It was clean but not what one would expect for $250. The hotel would not refund us. We had no way to make our own reservation somewhere else due to being in an unfamiliar foreign country so were had no choice but to be moved to the other hotel. The check in representative was very unapologetic for what had taken place and seemed to think there was no problem since they had booked us elsewhere. Please be aware that this resort may re-book you without your consent and then refuse to refund you.

Perfect Vacation Place

Having never been to Grenada we went with recommendations and chose True Blue Bay. The choice was the right one. From the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we were dropped off we were treated like gold. Every employee had a smile and make an effort to learn your names. The cleaning staff rooms and grounds were also wonderful always a good morning or whatever the time. Our room was perfect all the time we couldn't find a remote and it was there when we went back later that day. Spacious, comfortable, clean and the view from our balcony over the harbor was amazing. We chose the all-inclusive package and chose from a menu every day the food was perfect and hot every plate was prepared fresh. The grounds have plantings of spices and vegetation that is used in the kitchen so all spices were fresh. The menu was large and a great selection we chose different things to experience different things all were fantastic. They have a local night where outside restaurants come in where you can try local cuisine again this was all inclusive. Bar staff was the same learned the drinks fast and names as well. It was wonderful to not see any attitude from any employee if there were any problems they were all behind closed doors as to not cause a scene in public.Note, Ice is an afterthought, so if you like ice in your water you have to ask for it. The staff learned fast we use a lot of water and ice. We would sit they would bring 2 bottles fill the glasses and leave a full bottle. Being scuba divers we would go through a lot of water at lunch. We were on a diving vacation and the Aquanauts the onsite dive company was amazing as well the staff, management, equipment, boats everything was top notch I highly recommend them as well.If you’re looking for a wonderful time at a beautiful place this is your place. We will be back in 5 years
