Lovely Setting

The first time you come into the hotel you are greeted witht happy ,smiley staff members. That didn't stop for the duration of our trip by the way.We had a room in the honeymoon suite , very nicely done out with petals on the bed and hearts all over the room. Tastefully decorated with a double balcony outside overlooking the ocean and small marina .The only negative of the room was the bath , jacuzzi. If you weren't athletic you might find it difficult getting in and out . Needs updating . Only negative I will remark on .Everyone was very accomadting, whether it were the chefs, waiting staff ,bartenders.if they could help they did, no such word as no.Took the shuttle a couple times to get to the beach but also hired a car out , easily sorted out by concierge. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate in coming back .

I'd Live Here if I Could!!

Not only an eco friendly and award winning hotel, but also the friendliest - from the owners, to the chefs, to the cleaners and groundsmen...even the cats. EVERYONE makes you feel welcome here. The colour scheme of the place and the style is idyllic, authentic, welcoming, and non-judgmental. You feel like you are in heaven. Sandals - eat your heart out!If you want a truly authentic and magical experience in Grenada with an eco twist AND top quality services then True Blue Bay Boutique Resort is just absolutely not to be missed.I took the Honeymoon Suite at the far end of the resort on the second level, overlooking the bay and it was mind blowing. Delicious bed, large jacuzzi bathtub cum shower, and a stunning metal turtle light on the ceiling. I was so tempted to 'accidentally' (on purpose) miss my flight home! (Now I'm back in London I wish I had done!) You even get a turn down service with chocolates on the bed! They also have a scuba diving school adjoined to the hotel, and had I known I would have stayed for longer to get my PADI. I was over there for a week for The Grenada Chocolate Festival that is run by Magda Fielden who is the owner of the hotel so sadly there was no time for PADI this time around as well. There was a jam packed week of anything and everything to do with chocolate. They even have a yoga studio overlooking the hotel and the rest of the bay as well! Perfect for sun salutations in the morning!!There is a great little pool in the middle of the resort for early morning swims and you can get out for a bit of a morning run before the heat really kicks in, although there isn't that much going on around the hotel as it really is more of a resort - no need to leave. What to do in the evening - they have their own bar, known as Dodgy Dock with a fine array of Grenadian rum, LLB and lager available and some week nights they have a Caribbean band complete with steel pan drums! So after a relaxing, delicious and filling dinner, sit back and relax with a rum and absorb the Caribbean vibes. If you're going to Grenada (or anywhere in the Caribbean for that matter) make sure you pay True Blue Bay a visit and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

Wonderful Gem of a Place

We just returned from the Grenadines on a sailing trip aboard the SV Mandalay. We chose the True Blue Bay Resort based on several reviews and were not disappointed. Our cruise had arranged pickup withe Mandoo Tours and he dropped us off at the hotel promptly. The room was very nicely furnished and up to date. AC worked fine and the bed was comfortable. We did not really venture out and ate at the restaurant that evening. Don't be shocked at the prices of food as it is in Caribbean dollars. So divide by about 2.65. Breakfast was included and was nicely done. They will cook eggs or other items as you wish. This hotel is on the bay (not the beach). But they do offer a shuttle to Grand Anse beach. Leaves about 11 and returns about 3.30pm.Staff were nice and very polite. Only issue to warn folks about during the rainly season is FROGS. They have these little frogs on the islands and they can be LOUD at night. Can't really escape them and they quietened down after awhile.I do recommend booking through the hotel themselves. I had booked on another site and found that the hotel direct was almost $50 cheaper.

Disappointed with my stay

Since we don't travel far often, I searched for over 3 months for the right place to stay in Grenada and we selected True Blue Resort. They offer different types of rooms for different prices. I selected a honeymoon suite since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, I fell in love with the setup of the room, I also have a mild handicap and I didn't want a room with a lot of stairs. When I made the reservation I addressed all of my issues over the phone and was promised they would be honored. But upon check in we were told they gave our room to somebody else that paid that day, I didn't understand this reason for giving away our room because upon reserving the room they require you pay for 3 days in advance and we did that even though we were booked to stay 4 days. We came straight from the airport as a matter of fact we checked in early but why no room?? The room they gave us was the one I definitely did not want. I had to climb a tower of steep steps to get to my bed, I was so unhappy but we had been on a plane now all I wanted to do was to shower and lay down even though I wanted to check out. The next day they put us in another room that didn't have the stairs but it still was not the room we had paid for or requested we just tried to make the best out of it. I couldn't leave any food or drinks out because there would be a lot of ants in the room. We didn't enjoy the meals at all. On two occasions we sent our plate back. The callaloo soup is like water. The morning juice is watery with ice. Breakfast is included with your stay so I like bacon and eggs, I asked for bacon but I was told that would be extra. If your an egg person then you will enjoy their breakfast. If you come down late but still during breakfast hours like 9am to find no more pastries no more bread no more juice. I like decaf coffee they had none but someone did make me some and it was so strong as if they used the entire pack of instant coffee. I dumped it, no coffee for me. everything you ask for they don't have any more. this made eating not enjoyable. Dinner the same not enjoyable. We had the same dessert every night because we were told the bakery person was not in. We really wanted west indian food my husband asked for a roti but they didn't have any, he asked for steak they didn't have any he ended up ordering a hamburger. we couldn't believe that we were on vacation in grenada and eating a hamburger and French fries. They use large bottles of liquid soap that are not personal to you. I do not want to wash with something that someone else has had access to, so I would ask housekeeping for bar soap, they would only give me one as if they were gold. We spent the majority of our time in our room because they didn't have daily activities for their guest. After the third day we checked out and we to another hotel.

Great resort, friendly, nice and clean.

We stayed here for 7 nights and scuba dived every morning. the room we had was 2 story, with small kitchenette. Great view of True Blue Bay, and the college. This hotel is slightly out side of town, so food choice is limited. Good thing the resort has an excellent restaurant. It's a little pricey getting a taxi into town for dinner. The room was very nice and the AC worked great. The water from the tap is perfectly safe to drink, buy one or two bottles of water and just refill them. We went scuba diving and caught many Lion Fish every day, and the kitchen would cook them up for us. We will be going back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
