I went on vacations there with my family. The buffet was very good but the à la carte restaurants were not impressive at all. Great service overall. Maybe add a bit of activities on the beach. If you go there on vacations, try the piña colada, it's very good.
The Telemar resort , rooms were fantastic , cleaning staff did an excellent job every day for two weeks , food was good , not a big selection of desserts. No ice cream, only at the Italian a la cart . Beach staff there daily to get lounge chairs . Beach was clean . Staff was kind and courteous , however my Spanish is terrible , so communication was defiantly hard to do as most bartenders did not speak much English . It still was a great experience. They offer about 600 rooms , but I bet there were about 60 people there at best . Nightly entertainment needs some polishing . Aerobics in the morning . Afternoon snacks available nothing spectacular, popcorn was great . Limited alcohol for an all inclusive . I'm not a drinker , but some drinks you had to pay for . Pools were clean , with a swim up bar . All in all this is a great resort .
Telemar is an all inclusive resort. Nice rooms. Wonderful swimming pool with bar. Beautiful beach and beach bar. Excellent food. All inclusive booze was limited. We could have beer and various beverages like Cuba Libras, daiquiris, etc. No wine and no good liquors.
We visited the Telamar Beach Resort this Feb, 2017, and found it had improved in a lot of ways. The room was great as usually, and the email we had sent to management gave us a good 2nd floor room with a view of the ocean. Yes palm trees do block some of the view, but the main reason is the depth of the beach. Room care by the maids is great, the big 3 section of the pool and the quiet pool are taken care of properly. But the main reason for your enjoyment of the resort is the great staff, especially in the buffet restaurant, especially naming Eva, Vilma, etc who are always in a good mood and seem to enjoy taking care of customers. The front desk are helpful and will change any big lempiras to smaller bills with no problem. There is the buffet restaurant, and 2 reservation restaurants (steakhouse and italina) We do not go as there is one sitting at 6:30 and we like to go later. There is a pool bar and a beach bar. 2 yrs ago there was no booze served after 5pm Sunday till 7 am Monday, Last year wine was served in the buffet restaurant. This year a new law allowed booze to be served on Sunday in resorts. The only problem is the snack bar. 2015 and 2016 they were only open 10:30 to 11:30 am and 4:30 to 5:30 pm and the food is not good. This year the Sunwing rep said it was open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and you could get pizza, fries, hamburger, etc but it was not true. They usually had pizza, popcorn, and sometimes fries and hot dogs, but if you asked for any thing else they would say no. That is the only area they need to improve. Otherwise it is a great resort to go to. The Sunwing rep is very good and easy to find.
I'm sure this resort was fabulous in its prime. However, it is completely run down and in need of serious renovations. It reminds me of a hotel you would go to when you are poor, in school and on spring break with all your poor friends. The only problem is that this place is completely overpriced. The room smelled like mold and the curtains were filthy. It was pretty gross. Warning! If you do not like really loud night club like music playing well into the night....DO NOT stay in a poolside room. After one night, we asked to move. FORTUNATELY the staff and management are friendly and accommodating. We moved to the villas the second night and it was an enormous improvement, although, quite rustic. If you do not have your children, you will want to avoid the pool altogether. The beach was the best spot and not very crowded. There are nice restaurants in walking distance (0.4 miles) from the resort like Cesar Mariscos. Which I highly recommend.
