Last May I stayed at Telamar for a workshop, the rooms are nice, large and clean and the food and drinks are fine. You can get drinks everywhere but it's not possible to get bottles of water for in your room, you'll have to buy them. The comference room is nice and loaded with food and drinks, a bit too much I think. The atmosphere in the resort is a bit dull, but at least there was live music during one evening. Staff is friendly and most speak some English, some must have very boring jobs, like waiting the whole day in the tourist shop for the two tourists who could buy something.
Family weekend. Rooms and overall facilities need an upgrade! Our room 695 has old furniture and much to be said for cleanniness... they lack of activities during the night/daytime for entertainment. Hotel gives the impression its getting deteriorated and show little effort to improve.Food is average plus price/quality ratio seems unreasonable.
Despite the title of review, this was actually a nice resort. Honduras isn't known as a vacation mecca like Cayman Islands, Cancun, etc but the folks at Telamar did a great job. We, with David Bishop - an earlier reviewer, stayed there to wind-down from a medical mission. The pool is large and well kept, the bar is avg/good with attentive staff, the front desk folks were great. Our room was on par with a Ramada or Holiday Inn Express - clean, spacious, well-kept with a nice balcony overlooking the beach. Had a safe and fridge also in the room. Most importantly, the AC was AWESOME! The food was good, well varied from most Central American places and the restaurant was large both inside and out. The staff was excellent. I frequently took sunrise walks on the beach and would sit on the outside dining area before the restaurant opened and the staff would bring me coffee while I waited for the place to open. The beach bar was great for nite-time drinks and the staff on the beach were attentive and always ready to help or set-up a small, personal cabana for you to hang out by the water. There's ping-pong tables, a gym, pool tables and excursion center, a little connivence store and a souvenir shop. The laundry service was excellent and cheap.During the week, we had the place to ourselves but the weekend fills up with local families but still plenty of room.Overall, I was pretty impressed compared to other resorts we've stayed at in the area. It's not necessarily a destination resort but a very relaxing and family-friendly place thanks to the attentive staff.
After spending week in hotel in Santa Barbara Honduras, this place was amazing. Clean beds, great pool, beach out my balcony. All inclusive. Food was ok. Fresh fruit was great, varied menu....just tired of the typical rice, beans and plantains. Most staff spoke English well enough to get what you needed.
Our Faith and Humanity Medical Mission Team spent 4 days at the resort after our June 2017 medical mission to Trinidad, Honduras. We have stayed at a few of the other resorts in the Tela/Ceiba area on past trips. It was a great place to relax after a week of hard work. The rooms were clean and nice. Pool and beach helped us to relax. Food ranged from fair to good depending on the meal and day. Several of our team had massages that were good, especially at only $25 for 45 minutes. They staff at the front desk were also helpful in arranging tours. Laundry Service was good. All of staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I thought the resort was above average compared to other resorts we have stayed in Honduras, but compared to other resorts in CentralAmerica and Mexico it would only be fair. We will definitely stay there again on future trips. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so pleasant.
