After spending week in hotel in Santa Barbara Honduras, this place was amazing. Clean beds, great pool, beach out my balcony. All inclusive. Food was ok. Fresh fruit was great, varied menu....just tired of the typical rice, beans and plantains. Most staff spoke English well enough to get what you needed.
Our Faith and Humanity Medical Mission Team spent 4 days at the resort after our June 2017 medical mission to Trinidad, Honduras. We have stayed at a few of the other resorts in the Tela/Ceiba area on past trips. It was a great place to relax after a week of hard work. The rooms were clean and nice. Pool and beach helped us to relax. Food ranged from fair to good depending on the meal and day. Several of our team had massages that were good, especially at only $25 for 45 minutes. They staff at the front desk were also helpful in arranging tours. Laundry Service was good. All of staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I thought the resort was above average compared to other resorts we have stayed in Honduras, but compared to other resorts in CentralAmerica and Mexico it would only be fair. We will definitely stay there again on future trips. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so pleasant.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary and were extremely disappointed. The resort probably used to be nice back in the day, but now is desperate need of renovation. Paint peeling, mold smelling rooms with 90s decor, old yellowing and/or broken beach chairs, and uncomfortable metal patio furniture are a few of the items that needed to be changed. The resort was filled with families and also was hosting an oil convention, so at times the beach bar was closed to us for their private event. What's the point of all inclusive if you are going to make your guests walk to the inside pool bar for drinks? But that's not the worst part. The beach would get COMPLETELY littered with trash and they had no one to clean it up. At night, the tide comes in and takes all of the out in the ocean. I asked a worker if someone could come clean it up, and there response was (in spanish) "the waves bring the trash back in the morning, we have someone pick it up then". Ridiculous. This resort is trashing our oceans and just picking up the leftovers on the beach in the morning. Don't support this place.
We stayed at the Telamar Resort in February and it was an excellent experience. We did the all exclusive package and it was well worth it. Everything was included and never went thirsty or hungry. The food was buffet style like all other all inclusive hotels and was very well prepared and full of flavour. The only down side was that the room was a bit musty but after turning on the AC it for the most part went away. The beach at this resort was just beautiful and after spending all day playing in the ocean it was a welcome relief to just chill in the pool. I give this hotels 5 stars and would and have recommended to friends who also enjoyed their stays as well.
This was my second visit to Telamar, and I enjoyed it once again. It is a good, cheaper option if an all-inclusive. My friends and I enjoyed their meals and drinks available. We also enjoyed the Tutta Pasta restaurant on our last night - this is included in the all-inclusive, but you must make a reservation. The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because of two things: 1) Our bathroom sink faucet did not work. 2) The reception did a poor job of informing us about the resort when we checked in. I had to call or come back to reception multiple times to ask questions - where is the dining area? Where can I get a towel? What times are meals and snacks available? What entertainment is planned for this week? Overall, we really enjoyed the trip and will come back again.
