We are owners of a 5 star IDC Facility in Columbus Ohio We have made no less than 10 trips to Roatan over the years. We have always stayed at resorts in West End, West Bay and South Side of Island and have done a bit of diving on North Side. Turquoise Bay sits on the North East end of Roatan where we never have been diving. We have known Darren Ebanks (Dive Shop Manager) for years and when he told us about the great diving in that area we were excited to check it out though every dive shop manager claims they have great diving. We went, and my goodness was he right. Mary's Place has always been a popular site on Roatan because of the cuts through the reef. There was no reason to visit Mary's place on this trip given terrain of the reef in this area. Everything had swim throughs and caverns and amazing life. We saw Toad fish the size of footballs and more tame Morays than you can shake a stick at. The dive staff is well seasoned. They know the sites well and are nothing short of professional and accommodating. Nelson and Osman have been doing this all their lives and it shows. The resort itself is very nice and manicured. The staff clearly pay close attention to detail. The rooms are in need of some updating though they are very clean and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The food presentation was wonderful. Different options every evening from Lobster and shrimp to local cuisine. Never a repeat meal for dinner. They provided good entertainment in the evening as well as informative presentations for those interested. My store travels often with anywhere from 20 to 90 people. This trip we sort of threw together last minute and traveled with about 20 and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Edman, Darren, Osman, Nelson, Melissa and all the great staff there for a relaxing and seamless week in the tropics! See you next year!

Came down with the Columbus Scuba group for diving. The dive staff was amazing! Darren the dive shop manager was on top of all our needs! Our dive masters Osman and Nelson took SUPERB care of our group of 20! Both Osman and Nelson were two of the best dive guides we have had in Roatan in the 10+ years we have been coming down! The resort staff were all extremely friendly. Everyone we came across looked at us and smiled and said hello. Ednor and Roque took wonderful care of our group in the restaurant. Both took the time to get to know us and knew what we liked to drink. And of course everyone loved the resident donkey. Make sure to get a donkey selfie! Our group will definitely be back next year! Thanks Turquoise Bay for a great week!
Awesome staff, great food amidst grounds like a botanical garden and with the ocean steps away. For a quiet retreat or group holiday, this small resort is ideal. The dive shop is most accommodating. The beach is beautiful and extremely well kept as are the spacious rooms. Everyone in my group said they would love to return.
I just got home after staying at this resort. It is unbelievable! From the moment you get there, the staff takes care of everything. They truly care about you having a good time and everyone is willing to help. The rooms are quaint and cleaned daily. The grounds are well kept with free roaming horses and a resident donkey. Some of the rooms are quite a walk up 47 steps up a steep hill. If you have knee issues, ask for a room near the restaurant or dive shop. Otherwise, the rooms are great and some built in exercise for all the food you'll inevitably eat. Speaking of food, they do an incredible job for a smaller resort and the overall presentation of each meal is nice. The morning omelets are awesome and the fresh orange juice was so good! They had a really good variety each day for lunch and dinner. Steak and lobster dinner was a hit with our group. We traveled with 17 divers and they were able to accommodate our needs without any issues. The onsite dive operation, Subway Watersports, will spoil you! We had Captain Bruce and Dive Master Osman all week. They were both very personable and attentive to each diver all week. They certainly go above and beyond and their passion for the sport of scuba diving really resonates with both of them. I've done a separate review for Subway Watersports. Roque and Ednor at the bar work 12 hour days, 6 days a week and do so with smiles on their face all the time. They do a great job and it was great getting to know them and talk to them both about local culture. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Our group has stayed at several places on Roatan and this has easily been the nicest. We have already blocked our return trip to this resort for 2018.
