I'm giving this hotel 5 stars because of how they dealt with an issue that we had with our room at check in. The true mark of a top notch hotel is how well they deal with issues, and how they listen to their clients. The whole team was fabulous, Massimo the head concierge was gracious and understanding. I feel that in America, everyone is afraid to apologize for fear of litigations. Not so here, the apologies were genuine and went a long way in making us feel understood. As for the hotel itself, our recently renovated room was stunning, full of character, clean, fresh air. Our first room was pretty, but a little more stuffy and needed updating. The restaurant is fantastic, and the entire staff in the restaurant are happy, friendly and a joy to see every morning at breakfast. lunch was also one of the best meals we had in Rome. As a side note, we had a little dog with us and they were extremely pet friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
Have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The location is just the best and you can be on Via Condotti in 5 seconds or The Spanish steps in 30 seconds!! Fontana Di Trevi is no more than 5 minutes away and all the cafes and bars you could ask for are within no more than 5 minutes walk! The street on which the hotel is set is lovely and quietens down by 8.30 if you want an early night. The hotel itself is very very well presented with a truly well heeled doorman opening the door for you and it gets better as you checkin very easily. Bags are brought up to your room and the rooms are very rustic...not farmyard or country rustic but chic rustic!! We were very comfy in room 568 which was just along the corridor from the lift. En suite bathroom with full amenities and lovely hot water which was great for reviving aching feet from pounding the streets!! We only had breakfast in the hotel but this was beautifully presented in a buffet style in the bar which is opposite the restaurant. Lovely fresh cold meats and fish, pastries and hot items are all on offer.Overall i would heartily recommend this hotel to all pockets and all tastes but the only thing i can advise is bring your own travel kettle as there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room! Mini bar yes but coffee no! The head concierge Massimo Mazzola was very kind and most helpful and had the answers to all kinds of questions. We would love to come back here and at this time of year as the whole city really dresses up for Christmas! A very big thank you to all the staff who were most helpful and very kind to help us in any way they could!
Location is too perfect..close to centre and spanish steps, via condotti,restaurants..old but very nice hotel..very friendly staff, really nice bar and very good breakfast buffet..definetely recommend in rome..
We have been coming back again and again in the winter and Christmas. Wonderful staff, so friendly and helpful. Huge comfortable bed, nice room, and lots of little touches. Really good breakfast. Such a good location too. The only slight downside was difficulty with wifi ( which is free) in our room and tv signal but this is being put right very soon we understand. Under new ownership but we were delighted to see they kept the same staff.
Such an intriguing hotel it suddenly appears after a hair raising taxi ride through the streets of Rome. This is a boutique hotel and oozes charm. The staff are perfect all very keen to chat and after a long trip from New Zealand they efficiently ushered us to our room. Our room wasn't large but they seldom are in European cities (in Paris they are minute). The bathroom was good with plenty of hot water. The bed was extremely comfortable and wifi was ok. The breakfast was fabulous with plenty of scrambled eggs and essential sausages. Plus the usual continental offerings. As it was a short stay we dined in the restaurant for one dinner and one lunch. Both were superb great wines and great service. We would recommend the tiramisu its huge. The front desk ladies were most helpful and a blonde lady was so interested in us and our travels she made us feel special. What more can one ask. We're heading back to the hotel d'Inghilterra next week to finish our Italian trip we loved it so much.
