Very nice hotel in a nice area, centrally located. Staff is very helpful and most speak English. The rooms are comfortable and they do turn down service every evening. The air conditioning in the rooms is not great. Bathrooms nice. Pricey hotel but very nice. A few minutes walk to the Spanish Steps. We did adjoining rooms for family of four.
My wife and I had an absolutely phenomenal 3-night stay in the Hotel d'Inghliterra in Rome - I can't say enough good things about this establishment! If you are looking for a beautiful hotel with charm, friendly and attentive staff, incredible food, in a nice part of town, look no further. The incredible attention to detail and beautifully decorated rooms makes you feel like you're stepping back into time to experience a slide of La Dolce VitaEven before we arrived, I had sent a note to the Concierge Teodora Moncea asking about potential tours in the area, and she did an incredible job of organizing all the logistics for us to arrange an an incredibly personable, thoughtful, and friendly guide Matteo through both the Vatican and the Forum / Colosseum. Teodora also recommended and arranged for us a meal at a local restaurant that my wife and I agreed was the best meal we had in all of Rome. The staff here go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable so you can enjoy seeing Rome. Most of the time when I stay in hotels for travel or for work, I don't view the hotel as a cornerstone of my stay, but I can say that Hotel d'Inghliterra truly made our trip to Rome special. Until next time!
The missus booked this place and although we had walked past it many times over the years, had never stayed there. She tried booking.com but didn't seem to get anywhere so rang the hotel direct and she got a discount, upgrade and the third night free! Now that's what I call a missus with style.Absolutely top rate service from the reception girls, the doormen (particularly the man with glasses who had worked there for 18 years - unfortunately I didn't take his name), and the concierge. Friendly, polite, efficient. Remembered our names from the go.The room was well appointed though a little dark with just one window, but had everything we needed. Breakfast also included - a first rate hot and cold buffet. So centrally located it's untrue, perfectly ideal to walk around the lanes and shopping area, plus the Spanish Steps, in fact perfect in every way. Why haven't we stopped there before ?Unfortunately, the day we left was marathon day and the whole of the centre had been closed off and the hotel was, as it were, in the centre of the ring. We had no idea as we had booked a limousine to collect us but it was impossible for the driver to get to us. To our relief, the doorman (with the glasses) and a colleague drove us in a tiny car to a point some distance away where they knew a crossing (across the marathon road) where they had arranged a taxi for us on the other side. Top man.I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Not a boutique, but not large, just right.
This was our third visit to the Hotel d'İnghilterra. This is part of the small Leading Hotels in the World Guide and deserves it's reputation. This time we got a small suite (for the price of a double room),historic building and the hotel is over 170 years old.Decorated with old world charm, smiling and very efficient personnel, the conscierge services very good..and great buffte breakfast included in the price.Though situated in central Rome (great for upper scale shopping) it is very silent at night..
Really enjoyed this historic and quaint hotel. Room was expertly appointed. Bar was cozy with attentive staff. The front desk and door staff were welcoming, extremely helpful, and friendly. Located a block for Spanish Steps. Couldn't have been better!
