Visited this hotel last week

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from November 16-20, 2016. It was our second stay as we had been there two years ago. It is a wonderful location no more than a 5 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and all the great shopping that fans out from there. It is conveniently located to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and a pleasant but longer walk to the Campo dei Fiore. The public areas of the hotel are very charming and Old World and we were told that as the hotel had just been sold renovations were going to be happening within the next year. In all honesty, the rooms are a bit tired and need updating but are very clean and well cared for. In addition to the great location, the service is pretty great. The concierge, Massimo, whom we met two years ago, welcomed us as returning family and was helpful in many many ways. All the desk staff were pleasant and kind and the wait staff at breakfast and dinner were wonderful. There is a small, very intimate bar where a cocktail is accompanied by several little snacks that were a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay very much and would be happy to return.

Lovely hotel in a great location

I first stayed at the Inghilterra over 30 years ago. I loved it then and I love it now. The staff are welcoming and helpful. My room was charming - perhaps a trifle small for more than one person but beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. It was on the fourth floor, next to the elevator, and absolutely quiet. The bathroom was gorgeous. The hotel is on a human scale unlike most of the international "luxury" brands. The public rooms on the ground floor are very nice for a cup of tea or a cocktail in the afternoon. It is like being in a very lovely home. The restaurant is fine. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning that is more than adequate and the one dinner I had there was very good. The location is perfect for shopping and easy walking distance to the Piazza Navonna, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. The Spanish Steps are a five minute stroll. The Borghese is a bit of a hike but also walkable.

Rome is meant to be one of the most beautiful cities in Italy but is the complete opposite. For anyone who wishes to have a good stay would be better off at a 3 star hotel than this nasty 5 star hotel. We stayed in a room above the main entrance of the hotel and kept hearing motor bikes and cars starting. We also could hear people laughing/screaming down the street at around 1AM. The AC sounds like we are living by an airport; extremely loud and annoying. TV is extremely small with terrible choice of channels, WIFI is probably the worst of them all. People may visit the hotel for business and won't have proper wifi to do their job; rooms very dim/ carpet has disgusting stains beds are uncomfortable. Asked reception for tissue nobody brought anything up to us. Breakfast would be thrown up by a pig because it's extremely disgusting. This is not a 5 star hotel! Please do not stay here if common sense is a factor in your life.

The worst

This is the worst hotel I've stayed in I don't understand how it's 5 star?! The room size is fine, but there is constant noise around us. The shower is not a shower, the only thing that divides it from the rest of the bathroom is a curtain. It's not clean, there are ants. The lighting is so bad and dark. The INTERNET is the WORST I've ever experienced. You can't load any pages. When I tried to ask about the internet they just kept saying "tomorrow it will get better" but it never did. Never stay here.

Beautifully loocated

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel, part of the time with a friend and part of the time on my own. This hotel is made special by its delightful reception and concierge staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely room, maybe a little tired but still fabulous, fresh and delicious breakfast. If you like to shop and be in the centre of things, I would highly recommend.
