- What's Included
This hotel is located in a perfect location; close to republic square, Terminini train station, close to metro, bus, restaurants and shops...a perfect location, indeed. Apart from that considering the rate of rooms it's an average hotel. The quality of breakfast and Wi-Fi service were below my expectations.
Hotel Impero was typically Italian in a great location close to a few good restaurants & shops . Close to train station but no noise from trains . 10 minute walk to Romes forum & coliseum . Room was lovely with spacious patio & balcony overlooking opera house . Good choice of continental breakfast . Staff friendly & helpful . Hotel spotlessly clean .
This hotel was very functional but nothing special. The rooftop garden didn't have spectacular views and was filled with smokers. The staff did not seem especially caring but completed their jobs as needed. Breakfast was adequate but could have used a bit more variety. Location was nice between two metro stops and bus areas but was not close to many attractions.
A nice hotel conveniently located near both Termini Station and the Piazza della Republica. These are 5-8 mins walk away or so. You can get from the Airport to Termini for 14 Euro on the Leonardo Express in around 30 mins. There are Metro stations at both these sites so good for visiting the Vatican and the coliseum for example (and only 1.5 Euro per ticket, if only it was as cheap at home). We like walking so would walk to various areas so a good base spot off the main roads and not too noisy in our stay. The walk I'd say for us around 20 mins for the Trevi area and similar for the Coliseum. We were in room 428 which faced the road where the entrance is situated. The bed was large so plenty of room and mattresses were firm which is our preference. Room was perfectly clean, The maids changed the sheets & towels daily. The bathroom was an adequate size but the shower cubicle is a bit tight for me (1.8m, not a big build) but it did the job with plenty of hot pressurised water. Again, it was nice and clean. The Aircon was just OK, we got a bit warm at night with it set at 16C, the lowest. There was a typical continental breakfast, nothing exceptional but well stocked, fresh and there's plenty of options. For us a great way to start the day without needing to concentrate on an early lunch. Some people would ask the staff for coffee from the bar rather than the machine.Wi-Fi was great, plenty fast enough. The Hotel offers a free mobile phone which you can use throughout your stay in the city with free data usage for apps like Trip Advisor, city maps, web browser etc. but we didn't use it as we just used our own phones. There was also a Safe in our room, at no extra cost.Checkout was a 12 o'clock, our flight was late evening but they will put your luggage in a room for you at no cost. Each bag gets an airline like numbered tag and you get tickets to match.I'd say a 3.5 out of 5 and would stay there again.PS You have to pay City tax at 4 Euro person per night so add this to your hotel bill.
This was our second stay in this hotel and we weren't disappointed. We stayed for 3 nights in room 426. The room had a double aspect with balconies. Very comfortable bed, clean functional bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good choice of cereals, bread, fruits, cheese, meats, juice coffees etc. A great addition was the free use of the 'handy mobile phone' , this gave you unlimited wifi around the city, free calls where included along with the ability to take all your photos of your trip and then e mail them to yourself. We will definitely be back to the Hotel Impero on our next trip. Staff where very friendly and helpful.
