Visited in March 2006Booked this hotel as part of our flight arrangements with Easyjet. Good coach connections with Ciampino airport (as used at that time - I understand that Easyjet flights now land at Rome Fiumicino). Comfortable hotel, although dated a little. Breakfast served in our triple room (as breakfast room was being renovated at the time of our stay). Good location to explore Rome on foot - used Termini metro to get to St Peters and then made our way back to hotel via Piazza Navona and other sights. Visited Trastevere and its lovely churches and lots of other things during our week's stay. Watch out for crowded metros at rush hours - there's a risk of pickpockets. Good base for visiting the Eternal City and beyond. Would return to Rome, but maybe different accommodation in the same area the next time.
Last minute booking and we need three rooms, ended up here. Rooms are a bit tired, and the walls are thin, get the job done, finished the meeting, bolted. I like Termini area for its convenience, but there are better choices for the money if you could plan ahead.
The Expedia Marketing manager should come stay at this hotel to see its clearly a 1-2 Star hotel. This is a hostel not a hotel. The room booked through Expedia was for one bed and was given a triple bed like a hostel. The room had stains all over the walls. Only one sheet on bedding like a hostel. No other blankets. AC did not cool the room. I do not understand why an OTA like Expedia or Hotels.com would endorse this hotel as a 3 star when clearly it's 1.5 Star at best. This hotel should be reclassified so not to misrepresent consumers who are booking/interested in 3 Star hotels...... not a hostel.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small, the wallpaper was coming off the wall and it stunk of mould. The receptionist told me that the aircon would come on automatically but it never did and got quite warm in the room. The shower was disgusting and they need new shower curtains as it was filthy and smelt.Breakfast was average, the croissants were nice. It got very loud during the night with people yelling on the streets and trucks going down. 24hr reception.3min from the Roma termini. Overall, it's okay for a budget hotel but wouldn't be my first choice.
The hotel did the job for sure. And I would definitely recommend this place if you're going to Rome to sightsee. It's close to everything in the city and everything is accessible. The staff are nice and friendly. It wasn't the cleanest of rooms though and the shower system is in desperate need of updating. Most mornings the hot water wasn't running. But would come on at random times and scold you. And also the air conditioning wasn't working properly. The breakfast was okay but there isn't a lot of variety. It's either cereal or continental. It's all very dry and sweet. You'll find yourself wanting a fry up by the end of your stay. But can't complain too much as I thoroughly enjoyed the Nutella filled croissant, and at first it is a nice change of pace from what I'm used to at home. All in all I would recommend staying here if you're after a sightseeing trip to Rome. But if you want a grand hotel experience this one isn't for you! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay though so thank you Hotel Terminal!
