Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna
- What's Included
We stayed at Mercure Hotel in Piazza Bologna as part of an organized group tour. We found the bartenders, Dario and Alessandro, to be extremely accommodating and friendly. As a group, we spent every evening gathered at the bar sharing our day's events. The bar staff was friendly and happily served our group of lively, excited Americans.
Comfortable and clean . Not a very big room but it was still okay .Our room included. a bath and the room was very quiet Breakfast was included and was very good .It was close to a shopping precinct , market stalls and several good restaurants . We stayed a week and were quite happy . The barmen at the bar were friendly and we were in a big group and enjoyed their Happy hour each evening
I stayed at this hotel for the last week of a month long vacation to Italy and Amsterdam. I almost cried with relief because it felt so familiar. You hear others complaining, "It is a chain hotel. It is not authentic Italy." Here is my realization after 3 weeks in a country where I do not speak the language, am constantly getting lost and don't know the public transportation system: When I have spent all day with unfamiliarity, at the end of the day, I want to be able to flush the toilet without shooting water all over myself and turn out the lights without that much difficulty. I want to be able to make my own cup of coffee and thank heavens, I can get some ice without the staff acting like I just farted on them. The staff at this hotel was fantastic. It was the most comfortable bed I slept in for the entire vacation! As you might have guessed, I am not a low maintenance hotel guest but the staff at this hotel were 100% patient, helpful and knowledgeable. To tell you the truth, I felt so comfortable there, I spent more time in my room "recovering" than in any other hotel I visited. There was plenty of hot water, prosecco in the bar, light food could be ordered in the bar. I could not praise them any stronger! They printed out multiple vouchers for me and I'm pretty sure I was not charged for this. They have a couple of computers for public use, an iron to press my clothes (the only hotel which had this available). Great air conditioning which is very much needed in Italy, even in May. Enough, I loved it! I am going to seek out Mercure Hotels wherever I go and no--I am not an employee!
great room, great bed, excellent breakfast. most staff very friendly and spoke a little English. only had one grumpy receptionist, but considering I was there for week I thought just one being grumpy was good. only disappointing thing was no dinner and limited room service. however there are many good restaurants close by, especially Il tunnel resturant about 100m down the road.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The bed was very comfortable and we liked the open air atrium, the breakfasts and bar area. It seems to be in a residential area, but only a block away are many shopping and eating opportunities. My only complaint: our laundry did not get picked up, even though we got it to the front desk earlier than required, so we were disappointed with that. However, otherwise, we enjoyed our 3 day stay.
