Good location. More of a local feel.

Very close to the metro with easy access to all of Rome. Away from the overtouristed areas. Fabulous local coffee shop less than a block away called Misha (I think) that had awesome homemade pastries as well as an all you could homemade pasta buffet. The hotel was clean. A little loud but all the hotels we stayed at in Italy lacked carpeting. Good for cleanliness bad for sound carrying. Nice staff. Quick check in and out. Decent breakfast. Room got too warm but could open a window although that introduces noise as well.

Modern Hotel with great world charm surrounding it

The hotel was the most modern for my visit to Rome this time. I was very happy with the service and the front lobby kept us there day and night. The breakfast was splendid and was a full buffet of delights. I was very happy with the location and the front desk was very attentive and helpful. I am all about customer service as being in the business for 35 years. The hotel staff had suggestions of amazing restaurant that locals go to..IL try it as it was very nice as reasonable. The hotel was in a great walk-able area to the subway,trains...

Affordable, good quality hotel

This Mercure is close (3 min. walk) to metro station Bologna, so you can travel quickly to the centre. It's located in a quiet clean neighbourhood. The service is swift and professional. The room is spotless clean and very comfortabele. To top it off, breakfast is great. I definitely recommend this hotel of you're planning a few days in Rome. Especially since the price is very reasonable for what you get.

A comfortable and affordable option for Rome

We spent a couple of nights at the Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna. Although it would be lovely to stay more centrally, Rome is not a cheap city, so if you want to save a few € to spend on wine whilst looking at the Colosseum, then this hotel is a good option. The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from the Bologna metro station and all the trains on the blue line stop there. It is also only about a 15-minute walk from Tiburtina station, where you can get a train directly to/from Fiumicino (it costs €8 one way, as opposed to €14 for the express train to Termini). The front of desk staff were very pleasant and checked us in smoothly. We opted not to take an upgrade at extra charge, but if you are going to be spending more time in your room, upgrading to the Privilege floor may not be a bad idea. Our room was not huge, but fine for two nights and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size. The rooms have everything you’d need, although our view of the school next-door was nothing to write home about. The surrounding area is mostly residential, but that does mean easy access to mini-markets, restaurants and bars for the locals. We were disappointed to find the bar closed on Sunday evening at 11.45pm, despite being told at check-in it would be open until midnight, so had to go back out to one of the local bars. Our room was very quiet, which was great and although there was no free water in the room, the water in the minibar was €1.50, which is better than many other hotels. If you are happy not to be in the centre of the city, or you are looking for a good hotel at a decent price, then the Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna is a good option.

Good place. I recommend

I like the hotel. A little bit old but very comfortable for Rome for this price. (I booked beforehand). Very good beds and bathroom. Good warm quilts (north stile) so it is good for winter / early spring staying I think. The second good point is the location. There is many types of transport around. Turn to the right from the entrance and you will fine the Bus 61 and 62. it is go through all Rome around the places of interests between Angel Castel and villa Borgeze. Also the metro station is near and the Tram 3 on the Policlinico station which is 20 min walk. it is going between the Trastevere and Villa Borgeze.I had no breakfast so can not comment it.
