Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was typically Roman style but very comfortable and well equipped also very clean. Was woken every morning by the bells of Saint Peter what more could you ask for and only a five minute walk from the Vatican museum. The location was superb with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Overall a very pleasant stay staff were more than helpful thoroughly recommend
I think it is true you get what you paid for. May be not the best for a single traveller buy it seems to be good for a family as they offer flats wcich seems to be very reasonable. Staff are fantastic and very helpful.
We were welcomed with a smile and superb service. The information on the local area was amazing and precise. They only recommend the nicest of places. The friendliest of places. A stones throw from the Vatican. The room was so much nicer than the first night we spent in Rome with my new wife. The room was spacious and clean incorporating modern decoration( along with a mirror over behind and beside the bed for the more kinky of guests) They recommended a local resturant "dino e toni" who did not fail but rose to the occasion of showing off their skill at cooking and hospitality. Along with a wonderful cafe, bar feliziani. A wonderful place to grab a coffee and pastry. If you get the chance include breakfast with your stay. As the coffee is amazing and the brioche is out of this world. A flower shop just a door down to get a rose for with breakfast if you want to surprise that person who you care for. 10/10 for this place. Amazing.
Just a few things. Great hostel not hotel. We get a 2 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a big kitchen for two and a child :-) Overall 8/10Location 5 min walk from Vatican Museum, 10 min from St. Peter's Square, 3 min from Cipro tube, 5 min from market (many thing more expensive than in a shop) Towels changed every 3 days. Lift tight - max 2 people maybe 3. Small terrace. Wifi good enough. Car park for about 8-10 cars first come first serve - full on weekends. Street parking for 1€ per hr between 8-19 unless paid for 8 hrs - 4€. Rome drivers - point and go-tragedy. Definitely to recommend.
The apartments are approx a 15 - 20 min metro ride from Termini station. If arriving after dark I recommend alighting at Ottaviano station as Residence Candia is a straight 7 - 8 min walk from there and you will pass a sign for the apartments, reassuring you that you are on the right track. Cipro station is closer but not as straight a route in my opinion. We had a warm welcome from the reception staff, who spoke excellent English, and our room was fairly spacious, very comfortable and clean. We had a small kitchenette with fridge, small toaster oven and a microwave. There were plates, glasses, cutlery etc in the drawers. The walls a bit thin so you can hear other guests entering and leaving their rooms but this didn't cause us any issues. The Vatican museums are a 2 min walk from the apartments. There are supermarkets nearby and there is a superb cafe serving pizza, focaccia, salads, cakes and other enticing nibbles a very short walk away. For the unadventurous there is also a McDonalds close by. Residence Candia is not a luxury location, but it doesn't claim to be. If you're looking for clean, comfortable, friendly and don't want to break the budget, this could be for you.
