Walking distance to lots of restaurants, nice bar and restaurant inside the hotel, fun at happy hours with special , walked to markets, walked back from the Vatican City about 37 minutes if you don't get lost
I was unsure on this hotel at first as there was hardly any reviews or ones saying it was run down. The hotel has recently refurbed the two top floors but the others are nice to. I was expecting one room like most hotels but was pleasantly surprised when there was a bedroom, living room, dining table, bathroom and balcony. Yes there is slight wear and tear when you look closely but the hotel is in a fab location. Whilst it is out the centre of Rome it is in Travestere which is close enough for everything whether walking, bus or tram ( which is more or less outside). The hotel is very helpful when it comes to requests before your stay and ensured our bed needs and party were all close together. The breakfast was amazing. There was so much choice, cakes, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries ( 3 crossiant towers - with all different kinds - my highlight) and hot food. I know this is what you expect but it is vast. Something for everyone. There is free wifi throughout the hotel, use of a free ipad and computer/printer in the foyer ( if you forgot to print the return boarding pass).i would stay here again if i was to return,
We were a family group with 2 rooms, for a significant birthday trip. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast provided was excellent with a mixture of foods to suit all tastes. For some of the group breakfast saw them through the day until the evening meal. Breakfast can get busy and need to wait a little while for a table.if after 8.30. We were able to walk to a large majority of the "must see" Rome sites. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance for evening meal with a range of prices, avoid Sabatini, recommend alle fatter and meridionale. The hotel also provides a restaurant and bar on site. Air con in rooms, one room used this the other chose not to. Fridge and safe in room, no extra cost, beer, fruit juice and water provided in fridge ranging from two to four Euro extra. Although not central to main sites would recommend as value and services and would use again if in Rome. If adding a star rating would probably give a 3 to 4 but cannot fault my experience.i would return.
Definitely one of the more unusual hotels I have stayed in with unique sculptures about the place - a dog in the lobby, a pink flamingo on the way to the breakfast room - and the breakfast room pure white! But it was an excellent hotel - luxurious with very comfortable (I sank into the soft and snug bed!), spacious rooms and a view of the Tiber River from my balcony (chairs on the balcony would have been nice though!). The breakfast buffet was comprehensive with lots of both hot and cold options available. Wifi seemed to work better for those with Apple products - and as I had an iPad my Wifi was excellent! Wake up calls were not reliable though so a backup alarm is a must!
I was a little worried after reading some reviews but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great location .....we walked everywhere and it was so close to the historical area for great restaurants and lovely bars. My only complaint is the standard room in the non refurbished bit was noisy...I could hear people talking and coughing in the next room, however, the superior room was far better. The breakfast selection was very good and the seating area was very clean. All staff made us feel welcome and were helpful when needed. Very easy to get to and from the airport via the train and tram. Rome is a beautiful city and I would definitely stay here again if we return.
