First time visiting the coast and happy with our decision to stay in Vietri Sul Mare, which was the start of the Amalfi. We had a car but only used it to arrive from the train in Naples and then to return. Parking our car was complimentary, which is why we decided on this hotel. During our four days we had one day with a car in this town, which was very sweet and lovely walking and shops and quaint restaurants, the rest of the time we used a tour guide to pick us up to travel to Ravello, Positano , Capri and parts of the Amalfi. Good decision we made in advance as parking is a nightmare. The hotel is impressive because of the magnificent views. Our room was 216 which offered a beautiful spacious terrace outside the room with views all around. Very relaxing if you are using your room, however we were on tour each day and not there too much of the time, except late in the afternoon. The room itself is nothing that great. It is a poster bed, which was nice, but you need to ask for feather pillows, which I did, after the first night, as the others are not good for sleeping. Please ask as they do not offer. It made all the difference. The shower is very small and the bathroom lighting not good at all as the windows were frosted and did not offer light other than the patio doors far from the bathroom. The air worked, thank goodness, as it was extremely hot during our time in Italy. Breakfast was just okay, the scrambled eggs left in a heated container were never hot, so I asked for a fried egg and had to pay extra, which I did two of the days, scrambled was your only option. Also, the eggs sunny side must have been hard for the waiter to understand, first day perfect, second day, sent back. Not good for this hotel! Internet very poor everywhere and cutting out so you had to get a new password every two days. Restricted for two devices for two days. We only used our Internet when we returned after a full day out, as we own a guest house in South Africa and needed to be in contact with new bookings. I recommended to the reception that the bathroom was not equipped for woman, a two way mirror would have been nice. They seemed happy to note this ?The pool was beautiful with a great view, only one morning I asked for two pool towels each as we were staying some time and wanted to swim and dry off. You are allowed one towel each person and pay for any extra towels, are you kidding?Do not think I would return to this particular hotel if I was to return to the Amalfi.
Hotel was just ok View was to die for - Pool area is amazing- and the staff was super friendly - and was able to help with anything we needed.Cons, - Wifi went in and out Shower was to small to fit in.Breakfast was not good at all compared to other place i stayed.Dinner was to expensive and they gave small plates. plus there was a wedding every night so we were un able to take advantage of there restaurant with the view. Lunch was to expensive and not worth it. very little to choose fromRoom service was terrible food.Town is to far - and there shuttle only take you to the point of vietri not SA.I would rather pay a little extra and stay in amlafi or one of the other island, bc your gonna have to pay that in port fees to get to these place.Plus other areas have allot more choice to eat and explore. There is really nothing to do there. So would i stay here again no,overall its a ok hotel,
We went to the Raito Hotel for 5 nights during our honeymoon, straight after our wedding, in June 2017.The hotel is beautiful, built on the steep hills above the nice enough coastal town of Vietri-sul-Mare and overlooking the bay of Vietro/Salerno so we spent a lot of time just contemplating the beach and sea below every morning and evening. There is a Free shuttle service to the town centre (5-10mins walk down to the beach from there) so you can explore the area. There is also a vineyard nearby that does visits + dinner (expensive but really really nice visit, wine and food). It's also a good base to explore the vineyards areas inland e.g. Feudi di San Gregorio in Avellino. The staff was young, professional and friendly with good English but we were hoping to feel a bit more special as it was our honeymoon (bloody demanding honeymooners!). We talked to Luigi, the manager and he organised a wonderful treat: a white cloth dinner on our balcony at Sunset! The food was delicious, the wine excellent and the romance total!Otherwise, the rooms are a good size, with good air-conditioning, super clean and the bathroom excellent (although no bath). Privacy is a little tricky as you have neighbours up, down, right and left. Because it's on the Amalfi coast, you get a lot of travellers coming for a night or 2 so if you're lucky, you'll only have the one off 7am family of 4 departing from the room next door once! ;-))) Also, the hotel is very popular with locals so weddings (in one of the numerous annexes away from the customer annexes so they don't interfere) are quite frequent. It's very well managed so you might not even notice it.The pool is of a good size and the views really good. The Spa is small, quiet and with everything you need from a spa (a small indoor swimming pool with bubble bath, steam room and hot tub) so we ended up going nearly everyday. It has its own terrace and relaxing room with free tea and water. We were knackered when we arrived and left refreshed, well-fed, a bit less white and a very happy couple of newlyweds. Thanks to Luigi and his team for making us feel very welcome and then some more!Clare & Alex
I do not get the bad reviews this place getsU stay here was excellent breakfast was great and plentiful service was great in every way everyone was pleasant and helpful my only complaint was the Wi-Fi wasn't very good and shuttle to Centro could be better. Enjoyed my stay here and will do it again
1 week ago we had our wedding there and we were very satisfied with them. The staff is very professional and helpful. Few of our guest stayed with us for a night after the wedding, and everything was just so perfect. The rooms are well cleaned and big. The breakfast was very rich, 5 starsThe pool area is clean and has an amazing viewHighly recommended!
