arrived at the lady Hamilton in Jamaica, what a beautyfull place lovely white domed buildings, the foyer had the most lovely sweeping staircase and we had a warm welcome and a glass of wine, small hic up as our room was not ready but this was soon taken care of and when we arrived at the room it was well worth the wait,we had a large jacuzzi bath and very large walk in shower, all clean and fresh, mini bar stocked with usual soft drinks and beers, also pea nuts which was rather nice and water, coffee machine which you could also use for tea if you wanted, large sofa and two chairs at one end and a large superking bed, plenty of sockits around and large tv,wifi was free in the room and in some places over the complex,We were on the second floor in villa 34,my daughter had the top floor and the most beautyfull view of one of the beaches called sunset cove ,where we spent a couple of lovely days, the adults pool was nice and deep however the people with rooms near it seemed to book the sunbeds early witch I do understand but it did mean that we only got to use it one afternoon. The pools are beautyfull and cover a large area as they are sectioned into four parts with a lovely swim up bar, unfortunatley the jacuzzi pools were not working across the complex which was a shame as we have enjoyed these at times in other countries, hopefully they will be up and running soon for new guests.,there were lovely shady areas to sunbathe which was nice and plenty of sun beds ,lovely ice cream man came around often also hot dog guy ,we found the buffet to have a reasonable choice for us and loved my freshly cooked omlets in the mornings.,They were busy at times and I think it probabley would have helped to open the Negril buffet more often.we went to all of of the alacarts except the fish one,we had a lovely meal at the indian and liked it so much we went back days later however this time was not so good as they had a birthday party next door and it was very loud which spoilt our meal,i would suggest that it would be better to close the indian on the nights that a function is being held right next door,we also liked the Asian, the food was good and it would have been nice to have slightly more intimate seating for couples as the show table was on and this also was a bit loud,on saying that I must say the decoration in some of the restaurants were lovely,we had a couple of lunches at the sunset cove beach restaurant and the food was tasty and as the bar man said he would keep the wine flowing and he did,it was a lovely liquid lunch lol would also like to mension miss lou,s bar as we spent some lovely evenings in there with the bar men making all kinds of different drinks for us and they loved it when we would say surprise us with the next drink, thanks guys .We went on some lovely trips such as dunnes river ,the eluminated water swim and mystick mountain, these were all enjoyable ,but, alot of traveling involved and very exspensive. we did not have a meal included on an all day trip and even had to buy our own drinks ,this is not the hotels fault however come along Thompson you could do better and do in some other countries. The air port arriving and leaving we found to be one of the easiest we have travelled to and highly recommend the mobay lounges in Jamaica, they certainly take the stress off.As they say in Jamaica,no problem and ye man;they are really nice people and when you are polite back to them they are very friendly, you always get a few odd ones in any culture including our own.I would go back to Jamaica and I would choose this hotel,i like the fact that it is not multi story and laid out in villas which I find more cosy, the palladium group in general are very good hotels and you get your monies worth, thanks to all the workers at this hotel,we had a good time.kc
The hotel is stunning though it could use a little face lift. However, the grand foyer, chandeliers, and potent welcome drink all give a nice first impression. After a bit of light drama at the check in desk we were saved by an extremely helpful and hardworking young man named Ricardo. His pleasant smile and hustle to help as many people as possible really impressed us. A true treasure at this front desk! Our room was beautiful, waters in the fridge replaced daily. You have to plan ahead for the ala carte restaurants since most don't take reservations but almost always have a wait. All are good, though the steak and Italian restaurants were our favorites. The breakfast buffet is so extensive, I cant see how anyone would dislike it.The People of Palladium are a hard working bunch. They work long hours to make sure you are having a great time. They are involved in pool and beach actvities and then are in the live shows at night. Special shout out to Batman, among other talents, you can catch him at noon as the pool aerobics instructor. We participated every day we didn't have an excursion. He knows how to burn calories but keep it fun. He's so fit and friendly you can't help but love him. You will be missed my friend.Every night at the infinity bar is live music and sometimes a dj. The coffee house has great barristas, a full bar and delicious snacks. The property is large but that allowed our large group to also split off and have alone time.
This was our 3rd trip to the Palladium in Jamaica and once agin it was just a great time. The 4 th visit will be in 2018 with the whole family. If you go stay on the Lady Hamilton side as it is much closer to everything.
Beautiful resort! Our room was upgraded which was a huge surprise! But so thankful! Best experience ever! Great hotel and staff! Food and activies were great. First time in Jamaica and ant wait to return!
Please please please don't take any notice of the negative comments you read in other reviews on the grand palladium lady Hamilton because if I'd of done that I would of missed out on what was a absolute fantastic holiday.I have travelled the world and visited many beautiful 5 star hotels and the Lady Hamilton is definitely up there with the best! From the moment we arrived at this hotel we were greeted with a huge smile,a warm welcome and a cold rum cocktail.Check in was very quick and the receptionist filled us in with all the info that we needed and couldn't do enough to assist us.My fiancé mentioned he was feeling hot and straight away he was offered a cold flannel. Then in no time our luggage was whisked away and we were taken on a buggy to our home for the next 10 days block 33.On entering the room we were totally blown away by our beautiful room with a breathtaking sea view. The room was spotless and is equipped with everything you need.Heading straight to find something to eat we was welcomed at the main buffet restaurant by the very lovely Gillian who made us 1 of her fab rum cocktails. The food was delish and every meal we ate from then on was gorgeous. My fiancé is very fussy when it comes to food and is someone who always finds fault somewhere we eat wherever we go and he loved the food at this hotel and never once found fault.I was totally blown away by all employees at this hotel and each and everyone of them need a BIG pat on the back and a huge thank you for everything they do.They are a credit to the management team of the grand palladium! From the housekeepers (especially Dillis my favourite was amazing) to the bar and restaurant team, entertainment guys, pool and beach attendants, front of house, photography crew and last but no means least the gardening team! These guys work so hard to keep the grounds of the hotel looking A1 and pristine always. If I've missed anyone out I apologise. This hotel will always be in our hearts and have given us the best memories. We always have a rule and say even if we enjoy our visit we never go back twice as there are so many more places to concur but on this occasion we are scrapping that rule and will definitely be back x
