Firstly apologise for the delay in the review. We visited GP in May 2017, having stayed at the GP in Rivera Maya in Mexico This resort was my main reason to visit Jamaica and it didn't let me down.Don't believe all the negative reviews you see on here, some people just cant be pleased. This resort is beautiful and big, saying that it is smaller in comparison to Mexico but large enough. We stayed on the Lady Hamilton side, our room was gorgeous had all the facilities we required and was cleaned everyday without fail. The restaurants are amazing we loved the Indian. The buffets for breakfast and lunch were good, would suggest dinner times got a bit repetitive this is not an issue as there are so many other restaurants on site, however if you had a separate themed night everyday of the week rather than just a themed counter this would vary the options. (they do this at rivera maya)The beaches were amazing water was so clear we snorkelled everyday. The pool is great and the kids pool was perfect for our little one.A special mention to the Kids Club staff, Candy, Leslie, Shanice(my sons bday twin) and Amelia. You guys were great my son loved spending time at the club with you. He still asks when we are coming back to Jamaica. Amelia my son absolutely adored you and wanted to say bye on the last day but your shift started later. He did leave you a letter saying bye, we hope you got it.Overall we had a fabulous stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The hotel is amazing and so are he people. We love GP and we loved Jamaica.
The Good: The food and bars. My maid was wonderful. True Color is the perfect people for photos. My room 3730 was wonderful but, for one thing. Had a wonderful time at my beach bash. The BAD! Bedroom A/C didn't work. Mini bar wasn't stocked everyday, had to call everyday to get stocked. Shuttle service didn't show up when you called. Some walkways has loose bricks. I tripped on one and bruised my face and arm. I was told, sorry about what happen. My wedding coordinator did a poor job. Order a wedding cake and never got my cake and I paid for it. Called the wedding coordinator everyday and ask about my cake and was told, they would call me back and when do I leave. Never got a answer. Wedding coordinator knew everything that was happening on my special day, things didn't go good with the plans. We didn't have shuttle service for anything. This was my second stay at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. I thought I would give them a second chance. And I was disappointed again. I don't think I can give them another chance.
The resort is beautiful upon entering, however check in took forever and after my friend and I drove for hours we really wanted it to be over with. Finally when we got to the room it was a complete disaster, no lampshades over the bedside table( which had white paint splattered all over them) and those that were there were rotting at the sides. The over throw or whatever it is called that hangs over the bed had holes in it and it was very dis coloured. The floor was dirty, VERY dirty and the couch in the corner was tattered and torn looking like it went through world war 3. Then after much excitement recognizing we had a Jacuzzi we decided to use it, ofcourse it didnt work, all the water kept running out. We called front desk and they did send some one up so the drain was replaced. When he left and we decided to turn on the jets, black/brown particles went flying out into the water. We didn't bother such a waste of time. The shower oh boy, gorgeous shower i might add, but whenever we did shower the water went flooding out the bathroom and started going into the room, we had to use or towels to dry it up. On top of all this some one tried to enter our room in the middle of the night, lucky thing the door chain was there, called front desk only got apologies. Then on the day when we were to check out, we get a knock on our door we hours in the morning way before check out, some one trying to find out if we had checked out already (no it wasnt any one we knew). What was the purpose of that??? Any way the food was amazing and entertainment as well, that is all, room was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
Great hotel staff are brilliant refurbished since I was last there. Food is great buffet style then 5 individual thematic restaurants very good especially the Japanese one. Entertainment was good but we were there for two weeks so same thing twice.
Loved everything about this resort. Everything was well organized, clean and there was always someone a step away if you have any question or concerns. The shuttle service is at the ready any time you want to take a private excursion, as well as having plenty to offer in group excursions nearby the resort. More restaurants and bars to choose from than you will ever need. Great honey moon or wedding destination, we observed many wedding parties and newlyweds enjoying reserved beach access, private rooms for dining and much more.Basically a one stop shop for all your vacation and/or honey moon needs. Very family friendly, but also having pools reserved for adults only. Activities all day, and night time events to keep you occupied if you rather stay on the resort for the duration of your visit. 10/10, will go again!
