This wonderful Iberostar hotel is nestled on a stunning tropical beach in beautiful and lively Montego Bay. Built with elegant Colonial architecture, this is the first Iberostar property with an ocean view orientation, so many spectacular views of the sea are visible throughout the hotel. With its world-renowned food and service, numerous activities and relaxing hideaways, this is sure to be a favourite with Canadians.
I went on an extended weekend girl's trip to Grand Rose Hall in August. Let me just say my stay was awesome. We arrived a little early but our room was already ready upon check-in. We recd champagne and a cool wash cloth on arrival and our bags were taken immediately. We were taken to our room and introduced to our butler.Let's start with the room it was great. It was an ocean front room on the main floor with two queen sized beds, a sitting area, and bigger than normal sized balcony. There was a minibar and snacks in the room that were replenished daily and you could have it personalized to your liking. OJ and Reynaldo were the absolute key to my enjoyment. They were my butlers for the entire stay and they made sure my every need was met. I only did parasailing as an excursion but they had plenty to offer. Davia was very quick and thorough at the pool with drinks. Sue-Tanya was also very friendly and accommodating at the bar. There were, I think, 5 different restaurants and I tried 3 of them. They have 3 hotels on the property and you could eat at any of them but I stayed at Grand Rose Hall since the other hotels had kids and I was interested in being in a family environment on this trip. The steak house was my favorite I had the surf and turf. The Hibachi restaurant was just average, and the Jamaican restaurant was exceptional as expected. The breakfast buffet was average but the lunch buffet was exceptional. They had plenty of activities so that I was not interested in leaving the property at all. The best part of this hotel is that it is adult only. I can't wait to return.
This was our 3rd visit to the grand and it did not disappoint once again. It is truly paradise. The people, food, drinks, entertainment, rooms are all top notch. Everyone goes out of the way to ensure you are taken care of in every way!!! A special shout out to Clive, Chantol, Thunder, Akeem, Vanessa, Jerry, Chadwick and Tasheka. The grand is our home away from home and we will definitely be back again. Do not listen to any of the negative reviews on here as there is nothing to complain about.....One thing that we would recommend would be to give the guests a reusable straw as the resort is trying to go green and they are not giving out straws unless requested. We will be back next year.
I spent 12 (September 2 - 14) nights at the Grand with friends. We only intended to stay for seven, but due to storm damage to the airport we had to stay five extra days. Happily, the Grand gave us a reduced rate for the unscheduled extra days. I was at this resort with a friend in May and enjoyed it so much that I came back with friends again in September. We ate at all the specialty restaurants and enjoyed each of them. However, if you go to the Japanese restaurant plan to be there for 2 hours, the food is good but for some reason the preparation and delivery were very slow. All the other restaurants were much faster. My absolute favorite was the Jamaican - the lamb was excellent! Although the halibut and snapper were very good too. Be sure to have your butler or concierge make reservations for the restaurants. They may be able to seat you if you don't have a reservation, but you can't count on that. The entertainment team is stellar. They are on the beach all day and then you'll see them again performing at the shows at night. If it's raining, they have stuff going on inside. The spa is wonderful, I got a mani-pedi and massage. We got the prestige package added at substantial extra cost - not worth the expense in my opinion. You get super service on the beach at the prestige area, but if you don't mind waiting for the waitress to getting your drink yourself, the "regular" beach area is nice. Try the Jamaican smile - yum! Drinks tended to be rather strong for my liking, but I'd ask them to use only a half shot of rum.Request building 5 if available and stay up on level three or four for a really nice view. You don't need to pay for the ocean view rooms to have a lovely view of the ocean and pool area.Looking forward to returning again in the not too distant future!
Since we had a short stay we did not have time to enjoy all the island excursions. But between you and I the resort was more than sufficient to have a wonderful time. We had a delayed flight both at the start and end but all is forgiven to Sunwing owing to the resort staff and facilities. The pools at the Grand were grand and drinks were great. My husband stuck to his Belvedere's and I cruised along with the countless cocktails at my leisure. The breakfast and lunch buffet were extensive and tasty. We enjoyed fine dining at all but the Italian restaurant. My husband made the effort to ear a dress shirt as outlined by the mandatory rule - but it seems shirt also includes polo t-shirt.The cuts of meat and seafood were delightful; the sorts of food you cannot eat at home without compromising the freshness and one's purse/wallet.The rooms were insect and creature free and owing to our delayed departure we managed to be accommodated in 3-rooms by the end. The public bathrooms are the cleanest we have ever come across. The staff are friendly, patient, knowledgeable and professional. The activity staff are energetic but not intrusive. We were always provided our personal space. We only used the Suites to enjoy the lazy river one time. I am happy we picked the grand as opposed to the sibling hotels adjacent. What could have been done better for us?Difficult - it was a tense hurricane scenario so the familiar routine of such a resort was pushed. I noticed that there was delayed communication from Sunwing to the hotel. We felt like we had to make the decision to hire our own transport rather than await Sunwing during the delays. Two mixed messages. Not fun driving to the airport and back late at night being told by Sunwing the flight was delayed. The hotel contacted them at the airport but seems Sunwing are not readily contactable during these out of hours shuttles to the airport. I hate to think how me might have been neglected in a different hotel.Cheers to Iberostar Grand. When I visit Jamaica I will only stay here and all my friends and family will feel similarly inclined when we share our experience.
If you' re looking to get married at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall, look no further. I’ve been to a few destination weddings and hands down, the Grand Rose Hall was the best decision my husband and I made. It was such a memorable wedding. Coordinating a wedding remotely is scary, although it all came together so beautifully. We had Syrecka Tucker as our wedding coordinator. She made things so easy and care free. We had our wedding ceremony at the lobby bar balcony facing the ocean. I picked this location because of the view and I truly wanted something away from the crowded beach. Everything I wanted, Syrecka and her team made it happen. A few nights before the wedding I saw people let go lovely lanterns and wished I had brought some with me. When I mentioned it in passing to Syrecka, she offered to go pick some up on her way to work the day before the weeding. I was so pleased! She was so kind, and very attentive to all of my guests. Even making special trips to the store for us. The wedding dinner and the food was amazing. I had given Syrecka a box full of my table arrangement and it all looked so beautiful. Every time I needed something, it was never a problem at all. I wouldn’t change a thing. If you are thinking of going for the destination wedding, do it! The entertainment staff was fun, friendly and definitely made us feel welcome. The hotel was very clean and had very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet was always so delicious offering a variably a foods to please everyone. I especially loved the fresh fish and lovely salads they had every day. So good. The restaurants were equally as delicious, I especially liked the steak restaurant and the Japanese. The swim up bar was where we spent most of our time. The bar staff was very friendly and made very delicious drinks. Jamaican Smile was my favorite. Must be the rum cream in it. Love it! We loved it so much, my husband and I, as well as some friends and family are returning again in January 2018. Can’t wait!
