This wonderful Iberostar hotel is nestled on a stunning tropical beach in beautiful and lively Montego Bay. Built with elegant Colonial architecture, this is the first Iberostar property with an ocean view orientation, so many spectacular views of the sea are visible throughout the hotel. With its world-renowned food and service, numerous activities and relaxing hideaways, this is sure to be a favourite with Canadians.

sun and fun in Jamaica!

luxurious room and service. The shower was fantastic and the balcony a place to get away for awhile. The staff was so accomodating and everyone had a great big smile and a warm greeting! We felt safe and cared for.

Fabulous vacation

I love Iberostar

I would recommend this part of the Iberostar if you are just on the island to relax. The grand is elegance and comfort. The staff attends to your every need. The other Iberostar properties nearby which you will have access to has more entertainment without the fluff.

Great but a few issues

We visited for five days beginning 5-17. Service quality is outstanding and generally consistent. As a former HR executive, I was very impressed with the consistency of a quality customer experience and the obvious training that staff receive. The pool, beach and common areas were clean and very well kept. The lunches on the beach were good and we lived the steel band. The lobby bar at night was particularly fun with an outstanding piano player one night and an equally talented sax player another night. Our night butler O'Neal was outstanding although our day butler did absolutely nothing for us and did not fulfill two specific requests for wine refills in our room. The swim up pool bartenders were a lot of fun and the water aerobics guys were also fun and got you going.We had a few issues. The restaurant reservation process is cumbersome and makes little sense. First, I sent a specific email one week before arrival requesting times and the concierge had no record. Second, we were told that only the latest times were available and we had to really push hard to get the concierge to get us a seven o'clock time. However, when we showed up at seven o'clock the restaurants were practically empty. This happened every night. The restaurants were less than one third full but a reservation could not be had. I don't get that. Secondly, the rooms were clean, laid out well and spacious as others reviewers report but they are also getting tired as frequently reported. For that high of a price, the rooms did not match the rest of the resort. The hallways are also dark and need refurbishment. Again, for that price, you expect more. This was our second trip to an Iberostar and I'm a fan. I'm hoping to read that this resort has been refurbished and then we will definitely return. Until then, I'm sure we will try another property.

I believe the executives of the Iberostar Grand brand need to plan a visit to Montego Bay location. This hotel in no way lives up to the brand name. We visited the Iberostar Grand Parasio early in the year and there is no comparison.We were there on the day when the power went out. There was no communication from management at all. We were told several different scenarios – an accident on the street which knocked out power, no idea what happened and finally the reality - a fire near theatre. The outage was not a big deal, we were on vacation and still enjoyed the day but it would have been nice to have been informed as to what happened and the steps being taken to correct it.Areas to Improve: See review of DottoressadiExeter. I could cut and paste that review here as it reflects my exact sentiments. We did not find weed in our room, but other than that “ditto.”The Staff makes the hotel –Sarah our maid, Greg in the Lobby Bar and of course, Nicholas.We ate at all of the restaurants and the buffet, and the food is fabulous. My favorite was the Jamaican restaurant, but all of them were good. Overall review. You can see from my other reviews I am pretty laid back when it comes to travel. I can go with the flow anywhere, BUT for the amount of money spent on the vacation and knowing the Iberostar Grand brand, this was a huge disappointment. The positives were the amazing staff and the food.For the $$$$ there are other locations that would earn my business.
