This wonderful Iberostar hotel is nestled on a stunning tropical beach in beautiful and lively Montego Bay. Built with elegant Colonial architecture, this is the first Iberostar property with an ocean view orientation, so many spectacular views of the sea are visible throughout the hotel. With its world-renowned food and service, numerous activities and relaxing hideaways, this is sure to be a favourite with Canadians.
Great hotel located in Montego Bay. Beautiful rooms with frontal ocean view, great restaurant and bar, and such a great spa and wellness. People of the hotel are nice and customer orientated. And the hotel also has a big variety of shops with souvenirs and tours around location. Highly recommend it, I will come back.
Just got back from a one week (way too short) vacation. There were 8 women in our group and we had an amazing trip. We go away every year and by far this was the best resort we have been too. We are spoiled and only go to high end resorts and this one did not disappoint. From check in to check out, everything was perfect. The staff go above and beyond expectations and there is no lack of staff here. The beginning of our stay, the resort was quiet and peaceful however, by the end of the say there were wedding groups (weekend) which created a fun and great vibe. Being adult only is perfect and the security at the end of the beach will not allow children to walk on our beach which was great (not that we don't love kids...we all have them but this was for us girls only). Speaking of security, it was all over the resort, discrete but there. No worries about anything. The vendors only came early morning to sell their stuff and were gone by 9am (most of my friends did not even see them at all as they were later coming to the beach). They are nice and not pushy at all (I think the bracelets and necklaces are not really what they are selling). The rooms are beautiful and large and are perfect for two people with separate sinks. The balcony is amazing and everything is so clean. Okay the food is the best....so good. Favorite was the Italian and then the Tapanaki. I would recommend that you email guest services prior to your trip and make all your reservations before you even leave. Don't wait until you get there as you may not get in or you will have to dine later (8:30 which was fine with us but maybe not for you). We made our reservations before we left and had perfect seating's and were able to try all 5 restaurants. The buffets are amazing and you will never not have lobster and shrimp and seafood....an abundance of seafood there. The entertainment staff are amazing....hats off to Bubbles as she was non stop and so upbeat. Jarod was our butler and was very attentive at the beginning of our trip but them went MIA for the last three days and we did not have any butler service. This was the only thing that I can think of that was a disappointment. When we did see him on our last day, he said he was ill but we did tell him that no one replaced him while he was away. He apologized. Something really nice about the resort is that they have sunscreen if you run out or forget it. It is with the towels and you can apply there or they will apply for you. You can't take it but if you do run out or forget it, there is lots there to use. All in all, I am going to go back with my husband as they do have a lot of romantic things that they offer to couples. Highly recommended and you will not be disappointed. Trust me when I say this as after reading all of these reviews, my expectations for this resorts was very high and they exceeded. Have fun
My husband and I traveled 11/18- 11/22 to what we now call our second home! This was our 7th visit to the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall. Over the years, we have met some wonderful staff members, who we now call friends. From my very first email to the concierge informing them of our return, we were treated like returning family. Ms. Jo-Dane Russell and her concierge staff are always prompt and professional. They fulfilled each and every request that was made regarding room selection(we always stay in the same suite) and dinner reservations prior to our arrival. We were welcomed by our bellman friend Eion as soon as we stepped out of our car! He has taken care of our bags check-in/out the past few visits, always great to catch up with him. Barrington at the front desk immediately remembered us and was very prompt to get us to the Star Prestige check-in longue. We chose to upgrade and pay $60per person per day for the Prestige package. This was our second time using this Prestige club(however we did not join), we like the option to just pay if we want to take advantage of the upgraded room amenities, private beach area, and private longue. The star prestige package includes L'occitane toiletries and full bottles of your choice of top shelf liquor( grey goose, Bombay, Johnny walker black ect..) It was great to see Mr. Jonay Gurerra(who is formerly from the Grand) stop by the Prestige longue at check-in to say hello and make sure we were taken care of! Mr. Guerra now is a manager at the Suites Hotel. It really meant a lot to see him go out of his way to see us on arrival! It was great to see so many staff(friends) happily working ever so hard throughout our stay. I cant say enough about the Iberostar Staff. They make the resort! Kennesha and Gerry at the pool bar and beach are always smiling and you are never without a cold drink! The staff at the Prestige beach area always had our beds made prior to our arrival each day, followed by our usual red stripe. Thank you Kim, Jay-Von,& Renice. we loved spending time with you all. if you want info on the Prestige area/ club see my previous review. One thing we did notice is that the menus in some of the restaurants changed a bit. Our favorite spot is the Surf &Turf restaurant, we were disappointed to see the shrimp/chicken bruschetta off the appetizer list and the Lamb chops removed from the menu. This didn't stop us from enjoying our meal, still fabulous surf & turf. Our friend Norlan was our waiter and was exceptional as usual! He remembered what we liked to drink and our meal, down to dessert! Our second favorite restaurant is Japanese. We always choose a private table(quicker & we have done the Hibachi before) Again slightly disappointed in the menu changes here. We liked to order the teppanyaki style lobster/filet and shrimp with veggies and this is now not available at a private table. The new dishes are good but a little over powered by curry seasoning. We love Denise at the Japanese restaurant and she always treats us like her VIP when there! The breakfast and lunch buffet is always fresh with plenty to choose from. Camille was the happiest omelet maker we have ever met, not to mention in all 7x's there the best omelet's! each morning she greeted us with a warm smile and started our day off right. The lunch buffet is always serving fresh seafood & traditional Jamaican cuisine. The best jerk chicken, beef patties and ackee & saltfish. We ate at the Dinner buffet once during our stay, it was the American theme buffet, which offered several cooking stations. A steak/hamburger section, a pasta station, fresh fish station and a wide variety of chesses. I hate to say that I was a bit disappointed with the quality of cuts of meats at the buffet. Again, you can always find something to satisfy you, so no real problem. The dinner buffet just fell a little short this time around. Nothing to make us want to change resorts, as we love love love the Grand and all of our Friends there! We hope to be back in the spring 2017 for another wonderful stay. Love your Friends from Philly, Tiffany & Angelo
Let me start by saying my wife and I travel very often to 5 star hotels ( Dubai Le Royal Meridian, Aruba at the Marriott Surf Club,Sandals in the Bahamas, Mexico at Secrets Resorts, just to name a few) Iberostar Grand was the best we have experience hands down. This resort is beautiful just like the others but what puts them on top if the people and the food. Camille at the omelette station was outstanding with her customer service and also David the bellman. Another shout out to Barrington at the front desk and Keisha in housekeeping. I cant remember everyone name but they are all outstanding. We use Club Mobay bundle which was nice. When we arrive at the hotel we were greeted with a cold towel and a welcome drink. We have a ocean front suite which had a lovely view we also had day and night butler service. I didn't use the butlers to much I'm use to doing my own thing. Now the food was AMAZING the best we had at any all inclusive resort I have travel to, from the buffet to the specialty restaurants. The beach and pools are lovely, I read some reviews saying the pool water was cold, after you get in you will be fine. We were here celebrating my wife birthday and the hotel surprised her in every way, from balloons on the room door and in our room to a birthday cake at dinner. I have stay at a few Sandals resorts I'm not downing Sandals but for Sandals price you many want to check the Iberostar Grand. I will be coming back once a year. If you are thinking about booking here do it now before the rooms are gone and have fun.
I am not going to mention bartenders or wait staff names because as a reader I dont care. I picked this resort because of all the positive reviews they had. I have been to a few AI's in the past and this was by far the best. This review is coming from a couple in their 40s. I felt like there were many much older people here. This resort is much much smaller than those mega resorts in Punta Cana and Mexico. We had a smooth check in and then the bell hop took our bags to our room. I was expecting to go on the golf cart but he just wheeled the bags down the hall and there was our room. Very strange having our room 5 doors down from the main lobby. We put in a request for our dinners and what we wanted in our mini fridge a week before arrival. Our butler came by within 20 minutes to show us the room and book our dinners. We told him that our dinners were already prebooked and asked him to fill the fridge like we had requested (that was never done during our whole stay). We did not take advantage of our butler at all. Its nice touch, but we didnt need him. They did make us two baths with flowers. Plus they had a bottle of champagne waiting for me for my bday.BATHROOM- This was very large and very nice. Huge bathroom with double sinks, rain shower head and jaccuzzi tub. I didnt love the door around the toilet area as it was all glass and you could see right in. Overall very nice bathroomRoom- The room was very nice. It had a very large comfortable king size bed. The tv was nice (horrible refresh rate though if your watching sports). It was nice to watch Tv in English as other AI resorts only have Spanish channels. The balcony was very nice tooFood- The food was amazing. We booked the Surf and Turf twice. You dont have to order whats on the menu. For example we got the surf and turf speical and switched the sirlion our for a ribeye steak. Many AI resorts have special dinning that doesnt feel special. The food at many of them feels like the buffet food just on a menu. This place feels like you are going to a restaurant off resort. All in all the food was great. We also went to the Gourmet and Italian. The Gourmet was very good. The Italian was just ok (although at any other resort it would be great). The buffets was very good. They had a little something for everyone. We actually had dinner reservations on our last night and skipped it to go to the buffet. The Italian night at the buffet had items like Fillet wrapped in bacon, lobster tails, shrimps 5 different ways, Osso Bucco, and homemade pasta station, and many other items. They had a buffet for lunch that was right off the beach. This also was very good. We only ate here twice as the bbqs on the beach were so good. Every day we had steak and lobster tails for lunch. We did order room service and for a late snack and it was amazing. Overall the FOOD IS AMAZING HEREStaff- Everyone was great. By far, they had the friendliest staff of any resort I ever went to. Pools- three pools but everyone stays at the lower level with the bar. The pool water was a bit cold but that didnt stop us. The pools are very nice and never had a hard time finding a chairBeach- The beach is small, but nice. The water was warm and clear. The wait staff was quick to come around with drinks. Bars- the bars are very nice. Make sure to tell your bartenders which brand alcohol you want or you might get some well drinks. The frozen drinks are great but pretty week. If you ask for a shot of something over the top it will help. Shows- they were much better than any other place we went to. The staff actually sing and not lip sync. We enjoyed them very muchCasiono- Not worth talking about. Just a few slot machinesI went here for my honeymoon. All the extra's were great and the service was great. If i had to do it over again I probably would have went to the Suites. Here are the reasons why- As much as it was nice having the extras like Butler, Pillow menu, and so on, it wasnt needed for me. I felt like the crowd was a bit older at our resort. I have no regrets staying here. Was an amazing place. For me, i would probably save a few bucks and stay next door. The hotel has the same lay out and the food there is great too.
