This wonderful Iberostar hotel is nestled on a stunning tropical beach in beautiful and lively Montego Bay. Built with elegant Colonial architecture, this is the first Iberostar property with an ocean view orientation, so many spectacular views of the sea are visible throughout the hotel. With its world-renowned food and service, numerous activities and relaxing hideaways, this is sure to be a favourite with Canadians.

Top notch resort, amazing people

This was our 13th trip to Iberostar Grand. We keep going back as nothing else compares to this resort. It's only a 20 minute drive from the airport. Food is outstanding, even better than last year. It is immaculately clean and well maintained. The greatest part is the most wonderful staff who care for our every need and wish. We were in building 5, 3rd floor. Andre was a great butler. The kitchen staff, in particular Michael and Anthony, and Andre at the beach grill went above and beyond to look after us. Jodian at the pool never left us with an empty glass. Clive at the lobby bar still makes the best drinks but Waiylan is great too! William the bellman is a special guy. Barrington at the desk makes check in and out a breeeze. Special thanks to Angellie who makes everything phenomenal. Can't wait to book again.

Service with a smile

Our second trip to the Iberostar Grand Hotel at Montego Bay was another winner. I wanted to give special praise to Felicia at the Front Desk. Despite a busy day, she greeted us with good humor and helped us to an upgrade to an Ocean View suite after our first day in the basic unit. Chef Oscar has really kicked the food up a notch and the staff is great in every area of the resort. Three quick tips: book your golf directly at either the White Witch or Cinnamon Hill at the course on-line site. No credit card required and you can book far in advance. Waiting until your arrival at the hotel may lead to a later tee time in the heat of the day and behind many other groups. Book your restaurants in advance on the hotel website under My Preferences. Little chance of getting anything better than 8:30 seatings at the less popular restaurants if you wait until you get there. Take advantage of breakfast on the beach at the Port Maria venue. Same fine food as the venue indoors and much better ambiance.

Food good. Prepare to tip.

I read several poor reviews before we arrived and would like to begin by clearing up some of the worries. First, the rooms are cooled by a moist air system. We found that everything seemed to feel damp. No worries mon! I usually have breathing issues in poor conditions but I enjoyed 5 days of great breathing. Maybe they changed the filters. Lol. 2nd, We noticed 2, very nice cats that roamed the property. The place isn't under siege. They only get close to people that call them.3rd, Get reservations for dinners on your first night. Have your butler do it. They told us that no reservations were available for any night but we were able to get them from our butler. The shame of it is, NONE of the restaurants were full on ANY of the nights that we there. Not sure what the breakdown was. So, overall the stay was wonderful. Very clean & comfortable. Beer choices are Bud Light, Heineken & Red Stripe. Food was good. Plenty of choices. The fruit was delicious! Jerk pork & Jerk Chorizo were my favorites. Really enjoyed the rum raisin ice cream at the outdoor buffet. I didn't have a steak that was good. ( Beware) Also, every lobster or shrimp dish was chewy. I also suggest ordering American eggs from room service. Not sure what part of America they are from but they were delicious and so was the meat that came with them.My biggest problem was with the staff and tips. The resort boasts and "all inclusive" environment including tips. We expected to tip our Butler, Cleaning person and an occasional exceptional bartender. That was not the case here. You were treated to top rail drinks and received much better service by tipping. Bring plenty of $1.s. We have resorts in the past where the employees would not accept tips. Not the case here.The pools were fabulous, the beach was clean and the water was blue. We splurged on an ocean front room. Well worth every penny. Really glad we didn't do the "swim out" rooms. They are buried on side of the hotel. I suggest a grass umbrella facing the ocean. The chairs give you more adjustment than a cabana. All in all it was a memorable first trip to Jamaica, if we return, we'll stay at the Grand Rose Hall hotel again.

We just got back yesterday and I am still thinking about our wonderful time here. This is a beautiful hotel. We looked at the photos of it online, but they really don't do it justice. The lobby is large and tastefully decorated, and smells really good! I know that sounds strange, but it's true. The staff is attentive and we were very impressed with them. Our room was one of the nicest to be found anywhere. Very smartly appointed and huge! We were in room 6303 and we had a spectacular view of the sea! This hotel had some of the best service we have ever had anywhere! The restaurants were good, but we really liked the buffet. Even our mini bar was well stocked and they seemed to notice what we were drinking and made sure that the bar was stocked with our favorites. I loved the fact that it is adults only. It was quiet. We went to the two other resorts on the compound, and we were so happy that we chose the Grand because the other resorts were loud and just not nearly as nice. We are already planning our next trip. We went to Secrets Wild Orchid last year, and did not care for it....this hotel was a much better experience for us in every way.

Multiple times back!!

Our 5th time back to Iberostar in Montego Bay Jamaica, quality of service is at its best!! Started with a private tour to 7 mile beach and Ricks Cafe in Negril. Our driver on the tour was Garfield from JTL Transport who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, will definitely hire him next time back. We highly recommend him. Later for dinner back at the hotel buffet had 2 young gentlemen prepare our meals with great love and attention. Knico prepared one the best pasta dishes we've ever tried and was beautifully presented followed by a delicious desert created by Michael. It was a pleasure meeting them both.
