This wonderful Iberostar hotel is nestled on a stunning tropical beach in beautiful and lively Montego Bay. Built with elegant Colonial architecture, this is the first Iberostar property with an ocean view orientation, so many spectacular views of the sea are visible throughout the hotel. With its world-renowned food and service, numerous activities and relaxing hideaways, this is sure to be a favourite with Canadians.

My butler was great DURAN AND KHARSEN

The hotel exceeded our expectations. I traveled to Jamaica with seven other friends (Destination Divas). It was our home away from home for 4 days. Everyone there was so nice and hospitable. From The beginning William helped us unload our bags and took them to our rooms. He was such a gentleman and was making us laugh all the way to our rooms. We were very fortunate to have him at checkout time as well. While checking in we came in contact with Natasia. Her personality was truly bright and she was very hospitable and pleasant. Once we made it up to our rooms we were greeted by our personal butler Duran. He was such a gentleman. He told us what to expect and he assured us our stay would be pleasant. We also had O'Neil and Kharsen. They were great as well. They all contributed to making our stay one that we will never ever forget. The room was very clean, nice and comfortable, The refrigerators were always restocked every day and our housekeeper came for turndown service every night. The food was excellent, the shows were excellent, The entertainment was excellent, and the pools were always clean and refreshing. The gift shops were a bit overpriced. But all of the bartenders and the alcohol made us forget about the money we spent. We also met Patrick and Javon by the pool. You can tell that they love what they do. Overall my stay was excellent and I give them five stars hands down!!

Bad and Good

The Iberostar Grand Rose Hall was not at all what we expected after our grand experience at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro (Punta Cana). In fairness, the bar was set extremely high by the staff at the Bavaro location.The staff was not friendly and in some cases really rude and lazy. They didn't seem eager to assist or provide quality service. Good morning was often initiated by the guests not the staff. As always there are exceptions, Godfrey in the Surf and Turf went the extra mile and provided excellent service the two nights we dined there. Jodiene, the assistant public relations manager was awesome and actually helped save our trip. Mr. Santos the general manager was quite professional and also showed an interest in changing our experience. The staff enjoys talking to one another thus they get a bit irritated when you need to interrupt them for anything. No matter the request, the first answer is no, then after some discussion the yes comes...very frustrating. Most of the bartenders were friendly and accommodating. The air conditioning in the common areas didn't work very well. The shows were pretty bad.The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the daily grilled lobster at the pool grill. The food in the restaurants was very good, but the service in the gourmet restaurant could have been better...they weren't rude just not interactive with the guest. The carpet outside of the three suites that my husband and I occupied, along with two other couples in our party was extremely filthy. I've attached pictures.This location is best for travelers that don't care about details. We enjoyed our vacation, but spent several hours communicating with management. Iberostar, I think you owe us a night due to the time we had to use to discuss the variety of issues we experienced during our stay.

Where do I start from the time we walked in from the bellman to the housekeepers, butler. Jermaine, Roery, Donavon and Alexia, they've all kept a smile made me and my mom feel very welcome. Needless to say my mom is very hard to please and the place made her feel appreciated. Alexia our housekeeper she made sure we had whatever we needed and she took provide in the service she provided. Jermaine and Rorey came a checked in us every day they were there. I couldn't say anything negative about this property, but we will definitely be back. Thank you guys for making us feel at home, and making us feel as royalty and meeting new friends.

4.5 star with one concern!

Let me start by saying that this property is absolutely gorgeous from the lobby to the rooms. What I loved most was the feel of the resort as a whole. I felt like I stepped into a new level of luxury. It is not overcrowded and I never felt like i was stacked on top of people like some other resorts. However, my ONE AND ONLY sincere complaint has to do with the fact that this resort in all of its greatness still has carpeting on the floors in the hallway near the rooms. I know this is used to reduce sound but it is also a source for mold and mildew and mold was my downfall while on vacation. PLEASE, PLEASE consider replacing the carpeting as this will be the only reason I will not return. PLEASE look into the wifi near the pools as it was intermittent and I used a lot of my data because I wasn't aware that I was losing the signal. Now back to the good stuff. The grounds are well maintained and the food I ate was well prepared and delicious. I did not eat at any of the restaurants that required reservations because I didn't want to be tied to a schedule so can't speak to that. You can't go wrong at the buffets as there is so much variety. I favored the traditional options opposed to the regular more american flare. I think I am addicted to those soft cookies!!!! The staff overall are friendly and helpful. No matter when or where you are, someone is always around offering help and assistance. There is plenty of shopping on the grounds including gifts shops, jewelry store and a little mart for everyday items. The spa is a place you must visit. We scheduled a treatment called the Jamaican Ritual and it did not disappoint! It includes a 1.5 hour blue mountain coffee sugar scrub, a mud thermal wrap and then a hot stone deep tissue massage! I think I died and went to heaven. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and towels! No beach towel cards needed and you can take as many as you need! This is a plus for any of us who have stayed at a resort that made you keep up with a towel card! The pool and beach areas are immaculate and well maintained. They are constantly removing old towels and replacing with new ones. Trash is also immediately removed. The resort will introduce you to their arsenal of pillows! Every other night we had a new set of pillows in different shapes and sizes. I loved them all!!!! We met a couple of the owners and they were cool and kind. I didn't get their names but the lady was really nice and greeted us whenever she saw us. This is a nice gesture considering they simply could have faded into the woodwork and not engage their customers. Staff Evaluation: The staff at Iberostar Grand are nothing short of AWESOME!!! Special thanks and consideration go out to my crew! LOL !!!They include Chadwick who greeted us upon arrival with the biggest smile! He joked with us all the way to our room and checked in with us throughout the entire stay! Please tell him that Aunty Carr says hello. Next up is Pressley who checked us in. What a wonderful and pleasant young man. Not only was he professional but his humor and wit are beyond compare. After telling us that our travel agent booked me and my friend in a room with a king bed and not doubles. SMH!!! Pressley was astute enough to confirm if the reservation was accurate and made the correction. This was a good thing because there was no way in hell my friend and I were sharing beds and Apple Vacations would have had one heck of a time with me. Thanks Pressley!!! Did I mention he even stopped by to say hello when he saw us chilling by the pool. So awesome of him! To our maids who we never met for keeping our rooms nice and clean and for making sure they replenished our Pringles we thank you so much!!!! Pool bar staff: To the ladies who took care of us by the pool by bringing us drinks after drinks with a smile, thanks so much for your kind and speedy service. A Big Thank you to Sheena and Wailan at the lobby bar. Sheena basically took us under her wing and ordered us to stop drinking Mimosa's (something that I love very much) and made us try a different drink everyday. To my surprise, she nailed it every time because she listened to what we liked and didn't like and adjusted accordingly. Who does that?Sheena does! She is very personable and a true sweetheart! Wailan is the comedian of the bar. He is a true joy and his smile lights up the room. Thanks for making me laugh and for the great service. Also, when visiting the lobby bar please ask for popcorn with your drinks cause it is really good! Entertainment Staff: The only person that really made himself known to us is Akeem. Akeem is dynamic and tells good stories (lies!! LOL!) and his age changes daily! Just ask him and you will see! I wanted to adopt him!!! Akeem thank you for the fun and humor and stay cool! To my crew in the breakfast and lunch buffet near the pool and the crew who took care of us at the evening buffet, I thank all of you for the most professional service. A special thanks goes to Daniel who greeted us every morning with a hug and coffee! And to Nicholas who took care of us in the evening. And last but not least! To the butlers who knocked on our door twice a day to ask if we needed anything. Although we never did, it was nice they asked and we didn't need to look for them. Iberostar Grand I hope to see you soon after the carpet is removed!!!! Once Love!

5th Time Back ..and it just gets better!

5th time back and it didn't disappoint. Literally from the minute you arrive until you leave you are treating with an excellent level of service. William will be waiting with a smile on his face to take your bags and get you to the check in process. He is also the "go to" person for any transportation needs. We use a private driver, Donald Johnson who is very reliable and reasonably priced.The rooms are very spacious with beautiful bathrooms, well stocked mini bar, large closet space and sitting areas, Housekeeping does an excellent job of keeping things clean and re stocked. We celebrated our 34th Wedding Anniversary and between the housekeeping and Butlers had a nicely decorated room with rose petals and a special drawn bath.Our Butlers did an excellent job of taking care of anything we needed. Shout out to Andre for going above and beyond. He provided an exceptional level of service. Andre along with Rory were fantastic and whenever we asked about something they were always one step ahead of getting what we needed. I've asked for extra hangers in the previous years and this year Rory and Donovon had them ready for me in advance. Now that's good customer service! These Butlers work hard and deserve some recognition for their services.The buffet for breakfast was incredible! So many options for so many different tastes. The omelet bar was a daily stop each morning. Our regular servers Daniel and Lisa did a great job. The specialty restaurants are the best all inclusive we've tried. It is important that you book your reservations with your butler as soon as you arrive as the early dining times fill up quickly. The Surf & Turf was one of our favorites. We were happy to see Oludiah was still working there.The lobby bar is always open and ready to serve. We met a young lady, Chantol who really impressed us with her eagerness to do a fantastic job. She was a joy to talk to and we look forward to seeing her when we return next year. The swim up bar was the best! Ricardo and Jerry make it a fun time and are happy to make the Jamaican specialty drinks with flare!The spa offers a Hot Stone Massage. We did it 3 times and loved every minute of it. Ingrid at the desk was awesome. She will explain what to do and where to go. We had several different therapists but really enjoyed Alicia, Mitzi, & Danielle.The pool area is very clean and we never had an issue with getting chairs. We didn't make it out there until noon on most days and it was fine. No worries... lots of chairs available there and out on the beach. The beach area is well maintained and patrolled with staff always cleaning up.This is a great property and the staff is very friendly. The employees all spoke and made eye contact with us. We are hoping that the management will make sure the employees we mentioned by name will receive some type of recognition for their outstanding service. We thought we would probably not return next year since we have been here for so many vacations but with the type of service we received you can count on us to return next July for our 35th Wedding Anniversary! We hope that our old and new friends will still be there to make our next trip as great as this one.
