Iberostar Rose Hall Suites

We enjoyed our stay at the suites however I do feel the rooms are looking a little tired. Staff were all excellent. I have always wanted to try scuba diving but have been to scared to try. So the highlight for me was when Julie approached us at the pool and explained about doing a demo, we were in. She was brilliant at explaining and making you feel at ease. We tried the parasailing at her recommendation and it was brilliant, what an experience!!
On a positive note the staff was very friendly and eager to help. But so much was out of their control and problems that they couldn't fix. The resort was only at 25% capacity at most. So our issues should have been resolved easily. ,The musty, damp room with the broken closet rod, locked safe and the sliding toilet seat ruined the vacation. We had housekeeping and maintenance in the room three times to fix the problem. First I was told I had to put the temperature at 78 to avoid the dampness from the humidity. That didn't make me happy! Then we were told to put the temperature at 70 to make it better. That didn't make my husband happy! The entire building, including our room, smelled like mildew. They had fans running in the hallways but that didn't help. I couldn't sleep two nights because our bed actually felt wet. I had clothes I couldn't wear because they were so damp. The mini fridge didn't get refilled and you missed turndown service if you weren't out of your room by 6pm.There is a hard sell to put up with their hour and half presentation to sell you a Club membership. We were told we had an appointment at 8:30am our first morning to visit their other resort. I don't do anything at 8:30 in the morning on vacation. We were offered coupons and other extras. At first it was two free massages, then only one because the Spa was booked. Actually not true because I made an appointment later that day and they had plenty of openings. DO NOT get roped into their sales pitch. It is NOT mandatory. We tried to help out our sales guy by agreeing to a short visit but ended up walking out. Not wasting an hour and half on something I know I don't need. There is a wristband that has to be worn all week. I wondered why. There are three resorts together and do not accidentally wander into one that is a class above yours. Security pounces. I got turned around I wasn't looking to visit unauthorized areas where I am sure the food was no better. The casino is LAME! Video games and a video Blackjack table. The bars have limited hours. We thought since the occupancy rate was low we would be able to get into any restaurant we wanted. Nope! They didn't bother to open several of the restaurants. So the website can list seven different restaurants but only two were open each night. The food is just average and even the al a carte restaurants serve the same salad and appetizer buffet. Only the main dish is different. Boring and Bland. The pool entertainment was fun, although repetitive. The evening shows were entertaining. The entertainment staff was great. KiKi, OMG, Carlos Montana, Ricky Hollywood and Tiney were fabulous. They made the vacation bearable. Tracy in the Spa was phenomenal.I didn't mind the few feral cats I saw. And the guys selling stuff on the beach weren't aggressive.Unfortunately, this was a wasted week and wasted money. I will not visit this Iberostar or any Iberostar in the future.
The suite we had was brilliant the food was good, my wife had lobster as part of the all inclusive with pretty much every meal. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The only downside was that the resort was not in easy striking distance of local bars and restaurants. Taxis are expensive and as a result you feel a little bit of a prisoner in your resort. If you are an all inclusive person this could well be the place for you. If you like to branch out a little more on your own this may not be for you. Still we had a great holiday and would recommend.

Our family has been there twice now...beautiful rooms, great food, great service....very friendly, helpful staff. Would highly recommend this resort. Our daughter got married at this resort and the hotel did an amazing job. We loved it so much w went back the following year and will definitely return again. We were happy with everything....do not have a single complaint. Have travelled all over the Carribean and thus is one of our absolute favourite places!
