Really nice resort; Highly recommended, staff and facility top class

We stayed at the Rose Hall Suites for a week. It was a very pleasant experience for us and our 14-year old. The facility in the resort is top class, with great restaurants and activity packed daytime and light entertainment in the evenings. The staff and everyone we encountered went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. Will definitely visit again!

We stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for 2 weeks at the end of July. We traveled as a family from the UK, 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 4. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome, the lobby smells fantastic and the hotel itself is beautiful. We chose this hotel as we are big Iberostar fans having stayed in 4 different hotels in the Caribbean over the last 13 years. As soon as our son was old enough to manage the 9 hour flight we couldn’t wait to start holidaying again in this part of the world. As we were celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary whilst on holiday I e-mailed the hotel to advise them of this and to request two double beds in the room. On checking in we were told that we had booked a sea view room but they were going to upgrade us to an ocean front room, yes! When we go to the room we had two double beds, a sofa bed, fruit bowl and a bottle of Jamaican rum, the beachfront location was stunning.During our stay we visited all of the a la carte restaurants our favourite was Aunt Ruby’s steakhouse which we visited twice. The children thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant, the chef kept everyone entertained. We enjoyed eating at the buffet restaurant too, the choice on offer was vast and the quality was great. The swimming pools were excellent, the infinity pool was amazing and the lifeguards on duty a bonus with the children. We did swim in the sea a couple of times, I took sea shoes for the children and I’m glad I did although there is a sandier entrance outside Aunt Ruby’s restaurant. If you snorkel up to the rocks they have put in the sea to break the waves you will see some tropical fish. My daughter did get stung by a jellyfish but the lifeguard on duty put vinegar and cream on it and she was fine.The Jamaican’s celebrated their independence during our stay, wow what a thoroughly entertaining day! There was a band on the beach and a parade with people who dressed up. A quiz by the pool where I learnt I was born on the exact same day Bob Marley died! At night there were oysters on the buffet, lobster and a giant celebration cake.The Star Friends are fantastic especially Kiki on the mic, she does a great job keeping people entertained. Peaches, Hollywood and Carlos are lovely too. Carlos persuaded my daughter to dance and made her evening.The majority of the staff work hard, you do get a couple who look like they would rather be elsewhere but someone like Ricardo who was in the gourmet restaurant more than makes up for it. What a polite and charming young man, I hope he goes far.Hopefully we will visit again if the budget will allow. I would say a couple of things do need improving. The Kids Club, I only felt comfortable leaving them twice. My daughter came back the first time and said well basically we had to look after ourselves. I don’t think there was much structured play like they are used to back home. We did bring this up on the survey we did at the hotel after their first visit and we explained further when they telephoned our room about it. I would also like to see the two very small children’s pools gated off for the safety of the children within the kids club itself. Another improvement suggestions would be that maintenance go around and check all public toilet doors as quite a lot of the locks are broken and my daughter wouldn’t go to the toilet unless I was in there with her holding the door.Nevertheless an absolutely fantastic holiday and if you are going soon please leave some room in your suitcase for me!

50th b'day trip

I have visited Jamaica many times over the past 30 years and stayed in many different resorts and hotels. Most of the resorts I've stayed in were nice. However, I must say that my stay at Iberostar Suites was the best thus far! The decor of the resort, although not really exhibiting a Caribbean vibe was excellent. The lobby was grand and inviting. The rooms were just as nice and spacious and I appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. The food was tasty and I especially enjoyed having my ackee and salt fish, plantains and jerk chicken which was available just about everyday in the buffet restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not get to sample the other restaurants that needed a reservation in advance. The spa facility was soothing and clean. The packages had unique combinations of spa services and the prices were reasonable.I can't say enough about the resort staff! The majority were very friendly and polite. A special shout out goes to Marsha aka Jennifer Hudson (the 2 can be sisters), Marvin and Kimonette. They were the best concierge people I have ever encountered! They really made my time at Iberostar memorable! The management team should be very proud of them. They were warm and friendly and they made sure that I was well taken care of. With all good things being said I did however, have 2 concerns; the beach and the pool. I chose the resort because it looked like the beach had less grass and rocks than some of the other resorts in Mo'Bay. This was not the case however. There was a little hurricane brewing in the Caribbean during my stay so that could have attributed to the unusual amount of grass in the water. Upon entering the sea, there were a lot of rocks that one must step on to get to the sandy part and that was not pleasant. The pool unfortunately was quite warm and had debris from suntan lotion floating around. I attribute all of that to the bar in the pool thus not making it as refreshing as a chlorine pool should be. It was more like taking a warm bath with a lot of strangers. The only things missing were wash clothes and soap. But please don't let this deter anyone from staying at this resort. Aside from that, it is a lovely resort and I would highly recommend it. Management just needs to keep track of pool maintenance.

Over and Beyond!

I just returned from a glorious all-inclusive vacation with my family of three. We chose Iberostar because we had friends staying at the Iberostar beach. My experience from beginning to end was FANTASTIC!! My room was not ready when I arrived but I had no problem with this as the staff were so nice and welcoming. The food was exceptional! If you enjoy fine cuisine and a good array of food, this is the place to be. My teenage son enjoyed the food so much especially the buffet. We enjoyed both buffet and fine dining. Facilities were top notch. Personal touch all the way. My only snag was the attitude of some staff members. Some are not so flexible and only play by the rules, they rather you go to guest services to get your issues resolved. Some don't even say good morning. Customer service could be improved a notch especially for the ground level staff. It's either they are afraid to help, unwilling to help or just a cultural thing, I don't know. However, the majority were exceptional. The concierge crew were always nice and accommodating, and the ladies at the Star Prestige service went over and beyond! Incredible First class service. I Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it so much that I immediately bought a timeshare and trust me, I don't easily part with my money! Avvonn, our sales rep was equally exceptional. Listened, not pushy and personally cared for our needs daily. I am glad I chose Iberostar, and guess what? I will be back! (Btw, always go for the suites or Grand - the decor and facilities are awesome)!

Aces all the way!

I just wanted to compliment the entire staff at this resort. We chose to explore another Iberostar(bavaro Suites in Dominican Republic) this summer and learned that nothing compares to Iberostar Rose hall suites! The restaurant housekeeping and lobby employees are all top notch and clearly want each guest to feel like royalty. The entertainment staff CANNOT be beat!! For years we have enjoyed them . OMG Peaches and MoMo. In my opinion they could train all Iberostar entertainment Star friends how to do the job!!! I sincerely hope the management and owners know how these guys work hard to entertain and please the guests. They made the Iberostar reputation for this resort line!!!!!
