We had a wonderful stay!! The kids' activities were amazing; our daughter had such a blast with so many fun things to do. She really liked the personal attention and friendliness of the Star Friends members. Odessa was quite fond of our daughter and enjoyed playing with her at the foam party. That was just one of the parties our daughter enjoyed; she also enjoyed the marshmallow party, pajama party, and pirate party. We saw the magic show one night, and it was really good. The activities around the pool - bingo, frozen t-shirt contest (where the guys had to unpack a frozen t-shirt and put it on), dance contest, and magic carpet contest (running on a long moving pool float) - got a lot of people involved. It was all a lot of fun and brought a lot of laughs from the guests. We'd like to commend Odessa, Kiki, Cleo, Camoy, Hollywood, Elvis Presley (our son thought Elvis' handshake was really cool!), and Tiny for doing a GREAT job making the activities so entertaining!! The beautiful pool area (although the water was very cold) and the beautiful (clean) beach made for relaxing times. The lazy river was relaxing too, but the current was barely existent that we had to paddle ourselves in the inner tubes part of the time. But a few days later, the current was moving a little faster and it moved the inner tubes more easily. I treated myself to some time at the spa, and had a wonderful massage. The massage therapist did a great job. Housekeeping did a great job of taking care of our rooms, and they were very friendly. Unfortunately we had trouble with the safe not working properly and it took several days for maintenance to replace the batteries. Also, the huge closet doors were very heavy and hard to push open. Breakfast was delicious. Trevor was so personable and fun while making our omelettes. Hamburgers, roasted chicken, potatoes, crab salad, and steak were very tasty for lunch and dinner. Unfortunately the pasta was a little overcooked and the fish a little dry. The servers at Calabash did an amazing job surprising me for my birthday...my husband and the rest of our family all got their desserts, but I didn't know why I didn't yet have the dessert I had ordered...little did I know they all surprised me, and the servers were in on it. When the servers brought my dessert and started singing "Happy Birthday" with my family, I was really touched. It all made me feel so special. It truly was a memorable vacation!! 😀😀😀😀
It is clean, it is nice and friendly service people, it is good food, it is beautiful ocean view but only thing is not that good is beach ( it is man made and not nature), it is good show every night......I like it very much
We really loved this resort. It had one of the best beaches in Jamaica in our experience. The workers were friendly and helpful as well. The food at the restaurants was mostly outstanding. We liked the Mediterranean, Steakhouse, and Gourmet restaurants the best but the Italian was not that great. The food at the buffet in the evenings was wonderful and the breakfast there was always delicious. Lunch at the Steakhouse was superb (buffet style as well). Two things that could be improved were the pillows in the rooms which were pretty lumpy, and the quality of the house wine. When we go all inclusive we assume there will at least be a fairly good quality house wine but you would have to purchase at a very steep price per bottle to get decent wine. We went on an outing to breakfast next door at the Grand Iberostar and were surprised that the breakfast buffet there was not nearly as high quality as at the Suites. So if the pillows and wine had been better this would have been a five star rating for us. If we come again I will pack a feather pillow and consider drinking rum instead.
I am having a hard time writing a great review here, but I am also having a hard time finding a good reason not to. The staff was great, the property friendly the reservation restaurants were good and the buffet was a buffet. The bar staff was friendly and the beach was good. I think as this compares to other resorts, it is as advertised, clean and a good value. Not sure there's anything to rave about one way or another. I think for middle of the road all inclusive, this met our expectations.
