Iberostar Rose Hall Suites

Had a great girls getaway last week. The weather wasn't the best the resort made sure to keep everyone entertained. Rooms and bath were a good size, comfy and clean. Food was better than some all inclusive with a lot to choose from. Staff were mostly really friendly and great. If you have lunch at the beach restaurant instead of buffet get ready to get your own drinks and napkins. Massages were awesome and much needed.
This was my 3rd trip to Jamaica; I stayed at Suites the first time, Grande the second time, and back to the Suites this time. My sister and I went away for a girls vacation. This is a lovely property and has fun, upbeat StarFriends. Rooms are nice and the food is great as always. I actually think Suites has a better variety of buffet food, especially fish, than the Grande. It rained and was cloudy our entire vacation, but we still had a good time. Here's some of the yay/nay of our trip. Pool: Beautiful, clean, and nice swim up bar. It was a little cold due to the weather, but on previous trips I'd stay in all day! Beach: Small but nice. Clean, raked sand. Some rocks when going into water but it doesn't last long. Snorkeling is fun as there is a reef right off the beach with a bunch of sea creatures. Kayaking was fun...you can go up and down the length of the 3 resorts. Food: Buffet was great and always had lots to choose from. Food handled properly and always hot/cold as expected. We dined at Steakhouse and Italian restaurants and both were delicious. Room service is nice but limited. There is no breakfast room service, which is a bummer, since the Grande has(or had) a wonderful in room breakfast. Tip-bring hand sanitizer and be careful about touching the food tongs and then your mouth when eating. Gel in between! And bring some Imodium/Pepto in case. I was a little sick for 2 days, but I think it's due to the lack of hygiene from other visitors. Rooms/Service: Room was nice. TV was broken but was prompted fixed when we called. Air and fan were great...sometimes we were chilly! Little disappointed with the service...house keeping never changed our sheets, even though they say every 2 days. Floors still had sand on them, and mini fridge was never restocked. They also don't/didn't stock mini bottles or snacks. Last visits to both resorts I was well stocked with airplane bottle and mini pringles or some other snack. I had tonic water but nothing to mix with it :( Just seems the housekeeping/room stocking has gone downhill. And yes, I tipped for everything as I am very grateful for all the hard work. Spa: We had a wonderful massage! Deep tissue was amazing and our masseuses were very nice and made us very comfortable and relaxed. Only complaint is when we went to book, the woman booking us kept trying to get us to book hot stone, although I'd already said I do not like hot stone massages. I'd definitely use the spa service again. Activities: Lots of pool activities, which is great if you bring kids with you. Had a beach party one night with dancing, music, and a fire dancer and bonfire. Great time! Security: There are security guards everywhere, so it is generally very safe. The only time we were bothered was walking from Suites to Beach next door. We walked along the beach at night and were bothered by some locals trying to get us to smoke weed with them. Just some cat calling, but unnerving for two females at night. We enjoyed ourselves despite the weather. I do think I would go back to the Grande if visiting again. It just seems Suites was a little disappointing this time compared to last visit. Also-just a tip for the LGBT community. I'm not sure how LGBT friendly Jamaica is. I went with my sister and we were asked multiple times from staff if we were married or partners...it was in a prying way and seemed a little rude. Just a heads up!
Everyone is charming since all they want are tips. Guest services was a disappointment, all they preach is why they cannot rather than try to resolve an issue. I paid for a superior ocean view room but I should have waited until I arrived to complain about any room I was given, I probably would have got the same room I paid extra for. Water runs hot or cold consistently. Food is plentiful but not good. I could go on but will end by saying it was a disappointing stay.
I just had my wedding at Iberostar last week and could not wait to write this review!I give this resort and my wedding a 10/10!!!! It was the most amazing experience of my life and I wish I could re-do it every week! When I say I did not have to plan my wedding... I really mean it. My travel agent, Judy Sontag, from Elite Travel, and the wedding coordinators, Nichole and Simone, took ALL THE STRESS out of planning a wedding! Let me be honest, I am a very unorganized person and I changed my mind a million times up to the day of my wedding, but Nichole was so accommodating and would always respond, "No problem, mon!" She is so quick on her feet and develops solutions to every scenario in such a quick manner which was crucial for such a flighty bride like myself! I had my wedding at the beach front outside of Aunt Ruby's steakhouse and it was BEAUTIFUL! I chose the Gold package (so worth it!) so we had an actual DJ at the wedding ceremony who played the music and it was PERFECT. I used the Huppa with the white and greenery as well as the white chairs and it was beautiful! I actually did not use any flowers because I could not justify the price (I actually have never liked flowers) but the flower bouquet that came with my package WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! After the ceremony we had a cocktail hour outside of Aunt Ruby's with the steel drum band. It was AWESOME, until it began to rain. But no problem, they just moved it inside the lobby area of Aunt Ruby's including the band! The cold appetizers were also so good! There was sushi which is my favorite! After the cocktail hour we had the reception dinner at Aunt Ruby's. The food was great (I had the salmon!) but the service was quite slow, which I was nervous about since it went over 8pm and this was when we were supposed to be on the beach for the dancing. I voiced my concerns to Simone and as always, she replied, "No problem, mon." I would also like to say... THE CAKE WAS AMAZING! I have no idea why there were such bad reviews? Also, the tables were beautiful. Though I did not get flowers, you wouldn't know because they decorated the tables so nicely! After the dinner we went to the sunset bay bar beach area for the dancing! I ended up getting the bonfire on the beach with a DJ so we could dance under the stars... IT WAS PERFECT! I chose this area because I liked the convenience of the beach bar and it was awesome. The DJ was great and he played EVERYTHING we requested! The bonfire itself was a little bit of a dud since it only lasted for a short while, though still cool! I do wish it lasted the entire time though but oh well! Also, the DJ stayed in extra half hour since our dinner lasted longer than expected (thanks, Simone!) After all the dancing on the beach... we took the party to the Disco and danced the night away. I could not have dreamed of a better wedding and it was all thanks to Judy. Nichole, Simone and the awesome people at iberostar! The photographer wasn't the best but good enough! I do wish I brought my own photographer in though. Since my husband is a wedding photographer we were a bit more picky on this topic. The videographer was awesome and so much fun so hopefully the video comes out well.Unfortunately the photographer and videographer left at 10 since that is what they were paid for so missed a half hour of a real fun reception. Now, onto the actual resort! Iberostar: WOW!!!!!!! Such an AMAZING resort!!! It is soooo clean and so pretty! The pool is AMAZING and is right on the beach! Every day they had lunch on the beach which was great because we didn't have to leave. The staff... PHENOMENAL!!!! My party had so much fun with them. Special shout out to Hollywood and Carlos Montanas who made our stay SO MUCH FUN! These people WORK SO HARD! The gym... OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was like an expensive gym in Philly and their group fitness classes and instructors were awesome! The rooms were awesome. The upgraded me to beach front and I loved how close to the ocean I was. They also had screened doors which I loved since I kept my door open every night so I could hear the ocean. My husband and I plan on celebrating all of our anniversaries here! We even did our honeymoon at a different resort in Negril and it did not come close to iberostar! We cannot wait to come back!!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to this hotel. The staff was amazing and the hotel was gorgeous. I had an issue with my reservation upon arriving (not on the hotels part) but Marvin and Kimonette (staff) checked on me until it was resolved. They also made sure the rest of my stay went as planned. They are definitely the definition of customer service. Hollywood another staff member was also great! He's another great example of ideal customer service. Those 3 made me feel welcome and like I gained 3 friends. They truly care about the guests. Other staff members were great as well. Plenty of activities and shows for the guests and the restaurants made this an absolute great stay. I will definitely be back.
