Our ocean front suite was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The pools, bars and dining rooms are well staffed, and clean with great food and drink. The grounds are lovely and well manicured. Bar service on the beach is polite and friendly. The staff makes you feel more like a long lost family member than a vacationer. At check in, the front desk is manned by polite and informed staff headed by Andrae and the concierge staff including Clovis and Janisha can't do enough to make sure every need is met.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone or ever stay here again. I had my daughters brand new Roots tracksuit and my son’s shirt stolen right from our room. What’s worse is that the hotel wouldn’t and won’t do anything about it. They “investigated” and came up with nothing so basically it’s my own problem and they’re washing their hands of it. Terrible customer service. You should be able to stay somewhere and not worry that your clothing will be stolen from IN YOUR ROOM by the staff and if it does happen, you’d expect something to be done about it. A horrible way to end our family vacation. If you don’t want to have your things stolen, don’t stay here!
me and my family and friends first time we had an amazing 5 day vacation so many activities to do day and night looking forward to goin this year with my hubby for my bday in october .. travel was great airline was amazing as well we had a tour guide who took us to different parts as we sight seen alot of different places food is amazing all day everyday
Stayed – Jan 5 to Jan 12/18 – group of 6Arrival: Airport – first impression upon arriving at the airport was not very good – the people at the airport were not very friendly at all. There was no Sunquest representative to greet us at the airport and we inquired with another tour operator as to where to board the bus to the resort. The individual who directed us to the bus would not leave until we tipped – we kept hearing “what do you have for me”.Check in – was very smooth and friendly. Greeted with welcome drinks and shown to our rooms.Rooms – very spacious and clean. Maid service and mini-bar service were excellent for the entire week – no complaints. If we were to comment on anything, it would be the lighting in the bathroom.Grounds – very well kept and beautifulBeach – very clean – there were workers everyday cleaning up the seaweed. Unfortunately, we did have a week of mostly rain, but it was very warm.Pools – very clean – a bit chilly, but very nice.Dining – all of the restaurants were very good – the food was good and the service was good. Lots of variety. We were asked everyday – “Everything good?” or “how is your vacation going?”Drink service at the beach – awesome! I may not spell this correctly, but for several days we had the same server (Lekeisha) and if she wasn’t in our area, if she seen us, she would take the time to say hi and ask how our vacation was going. You could tell that she loved her job and always gave 110 %. Definitely an asset to Iberostar – Good job!Entertainment – we attended a few shows. It was very much typical resort shows. We really enjoyed the drummers – not sure if they were part of a regular show or special, but I believe they travelled a couple of hours to attend and were from an art school – my apologies if that isn’t correct. The entertainment staff worked hard everyday to encourage involvement – they were a fun bunch of people.Pool drink service – The swim up bar was a popular spot. Generally the service was good, however, there was one day a group of people stationed themselves at the swim up bar and it was difficult to get the bartenders attention to get a drink.Excursions – We did a ½ day excursion River Tubing - great group of people (Chukka) and very well organized. We also did an evening excursion to see the Luminious Lagoon – this was not so good. It had rained most of the week and the Sunquest representative suggested that we re-book to a better day. The day we went was probably the worst rainy day of the week. We had difficulty getting in touch with her but the “Amstar” representative was very helpful. Most of the other tours had been cancelled, but ours was still going. The bus driver picked us up at the resort and there was very little communication. We went on the tour and it was very disappointing – because of all the rain, we were not able to see much – a waste of money. Right after the tour, we headed back to the bus early as we didn’t feel safe in the area we were in. Our driver along with other drivers were outside the buses and we could smell a very strong odour of “weed” inside and outside of the bus. We didn’t see our driver smoking it, but it was quite evident he was. There was no communication at all back to the resort and when the driver got out of the bus at the resort, you could certainly tell he had been smoking. Certainly a safety factor here and wouldn’t recommend this tour – the tour was with “Mystic”. Miscellaneous – First time in Jamaica and first time at an Iberostar resort – one of the best resorts we have stayed at for service and cleanliness – good job! We were asked on a daily basis if we wanted to buy “weed”. The walkway to Ruby’s restaurant was along the beach and one evening coming back, two individuals popped up from behind the hedge asking if we wanted to buy “weed’ – not resort staff – was a bit concerning. Our flight was delayed coming home because of an ice storm - it would have been nice to spend the time at the resort instead of the airport – this is something that the Sunquest representative could have advised us of.The internet access was cut off upon check out at noon, however, we were not scheduled to leave the resort until 4.30 – this is something that the resort should consider.
We came to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites not knowing what to expect, but was surprised at how welcomed we felt from the moment we stepped in the door.On our arrival we got a welcome drink that gave us the first sample of the treats to come. Our room was not ready but that was okay as we were given wrist bands and were free to explore the hotel or go for lunch, which we did. It was only 45 minutes later that we came back to the front desk to find our room was ready. We were given a room (3419) that is on the top floor facing the pools and ocean view. Fantastic room. Clean, large, updated and everything worked as it should.Fridge was stocked every morning, coffee is the best there and when I asked for more packs I had them within the same afternoon. Our beds were firm but comfortable. The food is wonderful. Seafood overload is what we had by the time we came home and must say very tasty too. There is something for every ones tastes. If you can not find something to eat, you have a problem and should stay home. The entertainment crew were full of joy everyday. They work long hours but never let us guests know just how tired they really are. Way to go !There is always enough lounge chairs around the pool and at the ocean beach for every guest without having to save a chair unless you are one who needs a little shade. Towels are plentiful so you can change them out for dry ones at any time.We did not use the Transat shuttle from the airport. We hired Byron from Bryon land transfers and tours. We walked out of the airport and Byron was waiting for us and we were in the Hotel not 20 minutes later. The people that took the shuttle came into the hotel much, much later. Please think about using Byron on your trip. We also did a day tour with him as well. Price is fair and worth every cent. Look him up on his web site Byron Land Transfers and Tours.
