Just an Atrocious Vacation

Our vacation at this hotel was absolutely horrendous. When we chose to stay at this hotel, we believed that we had made the right decision due to our pleasant past experience at this hotel. However our amazing memories of this hotel shattered as we came to realize this hotel has become substantially worse. To begin with, our rooms lacked common amaenditeis that would often be found in other hotels. We didn't have lotion, a clock, but we did have a leaking refrigerator. Besides the terrible rooms, the food was also disgusting. If the food was never seasoned correctly and so my family and I would often go to be hungry. Though they have a "snack bar" it lacks any type of food. This vacation was extremely disappointing and was even worse than a common motel.

Summer Sunshine in Paradise

Had a 2 week stay at Hotel Riu Montego Bay and cannot fault this place. From check in to check out I cannot fault my stay. At check in we were greeted by the front desk staff and Lee was more than helpful, she swapped us to a room with 2 beds and then when we got to the room it was overlooking the pool and views of the ocean. The food was excellent, we didn't attend any of the a la carte restaurants because we love Caribbean food which was available at every meal time. The pool was great and swim up bar great fun especially Wendall, that boy knows how to mix a rum cocktail! But our holiday was made by the entertainment team. Supreme was the lead man followed closely by Fire, Sunshine, Kupcake, Perry, Zoe, Styles and the big man himself Tpain. Amazing energy, getting everyone involved, putting on a great show each eveningand generally making sure guests were enjoying their Jamaican experience. All bar staff served with professionalism, speed and then enthusiasm especially Kristopher at the Exodus bar. Every member of staff worked their socks off and the whole place was immaculate. I was down early every day and observed staff keeping the grounds beautiful. The lifeguard David not only looked like a god but was so pleasant. We did a trip to Ricks café in Negril which was great. The rest of the time we relaxed but there is plenty to do. Defo will return to that Hotel in a heartbeat.

climb Dunns River Fall; swimming with the dolphins; night time luminous pool in a Harbour.

Riu hotel, all inclusive...food galore and so so good. Their rooms are kind of mildewy, they really need dehumidfiers in their rooms...rooms and beds so very comfy. The mini bars in all the rooms are included! OMG bottles of Rum etc, so plentiful in the rooms. They replenish mini bar every other day. Snacks, sodas, water and the booze all included in the mini bar. We did the Dunns River Fall ...absolutely exhilarating and exciting! The climb was a challenge but do able as long as you can climb and walk...but can be slippery ...after all it is a huge waterfall you are climbing. Right before the plateau , you can exit, if you wish. That part is really steep and a real challenge. The trip had lots of boating, catamarans, speed boats , etc. The folks there are so very friendly and helpful. But, DO NOT exchange US dollars into their dollars. I wish someone had advised me ..but I didn't know. We discovered everywhere over there takes US dollars. At the airport after Customs the staff will usher you to their money exchange window and they will say No charge ! what a lie...it's a hefty charge. We only exchanged $50 each and had to scramble to make sure we used every bill before leaving.

Nice vacation in Jamaica

I have been to this resort twice once in Dec 2016 and in Aug 2017. My husband and I went on christmas with my parents and our kids. We loved it so much that we decided to go again with his parents and a couple and their kid. I didn't have much to complaint about this resort with just minus disappointement. I mean since it is marked as a 5 stars we expected to be absolutely impeccable but we have travelled alot so we pick our battles when something happens and it's not up to that 5 stars. We can agree that service was more of a 3.5 to 4 stars sometimes it's really good and sometimes really bad but I think it's all in each of the personnality and determination of each employee. Our friends had had bad experience from ours. They didn't get their minibar replenished every 2 days it was more of once or twice for the week and they had problem with their paid in room internet . Paid in full for a week and they came to assess or repair the day before we left even tho they were called several times during the week. They had a problem with their toilet and it was wasn't fix for whole day and then when it did management left a basket of fruits amd chocolat for them as an apology but with another customer name on it so as u can see it would say much about how the management cared. As per us, everything was good totally different experience.

Family vaca

I stayed here this past week with 12 other family members and it was amazing! First, the hotel is wonderful with cleaning, and the breathtaking scenery. The food options are out of this world. They have 4 buffets; 1 main one and 3 other little ones. Every night there was a show provided by the amazing "Showtime" group. The dancers and the staff were all so friendly, we became so close. It was heart warming that they remembered all our names. Lastly, the people of Jamaica. They are kind hearted, loving individuals who are so down to earth and made our stay there an unforgettable one. Thank you Jamaica for adding to some of our best memories. Will definitely be visiting soon again. ❤️
