Riu Palace Jamaica

- All Inclusive Features
With its great location, less than 10 minutes from the airport, you can start your vacation right away. Along with its modern decor, Riu Palace Jamaica has a friendly and attentive staff and delicious dining options as is expected with the Riu chain. There is a selection of activities and entertainment offered at the resort but for the most part, this adults only resort is considered a more of a quiet retreat. And with a private, white-sand beach there are no beach vendors or timeshare sales people. If you are looking for more action, take advantage of the full exchange privileges at the Riu Montego Bay right next door.
Arrived on August 27th for 14th amazing days .my husband kevin and I arrived in hotel with pat and bill cunningham. Pat is my husband s sister. This was to be a special holiday as we were celebrating our Ruby wedding. On our special day we had breakfast delivered to our room after wich we made our way to our special place on the beach .The sunbeds ,trees, and all where we were seated was decorated with balloons and banners and flowers. JoJo and Dr fun and cash and so many more of the entertainment crew made our day .the staff in the buffet in the evening went all out for us also .we could've have spent a more memorable, happy holiday with fantastic family and been looked after so much .If anyone has a celebration to be as great as ours and one never to forget ,spend it in a Riu hotel they are first class .especially the palace in Jamaica !!!
The resort was absolutely beautiful! Grounds were impeccably maintained. We never had to search for or reserve chairs at the pool or beach. The entire staff was great. Entertainment staff worked so hard and they were all so friendly! Enjoyed watching Cash dance and the Ladies Moya and Barbie were so sweet and friendly! All of the barstaff were fun and entertaining. Waitstaff remembered your orders from day to day. The buffet was really really good. Best I've ever had at a resort. Lots of options for everyone. We also really enjoyed the Italian restaurant...it was our favorite of the restaurants. I've seen some complaints about rooms being too hot or having too much moisture. Our room was not hot at all. We had a suite with two ceiling fans and they did wonders for keeping the room cool (and my mother and I are both VERY hot natured). As far as moisture....Jamaica is humid. But so is my hometown so that wasn't unusual to me. I guess some people just aren't familiar with real humidity. We were upgraded to a suite when we checked in (I'm an adult that took this trip with my parents). We had tons of room. If you are in an ocean front room, they will have to bring in an extra bed if you book for two beds. It is a real bed though...not a rollaway. I slept very comfortably on my side of the room which was very large. I can see how privacy could be an issue. After reading some reviews, we requested a room with a privacy curtain. This curtain is on the bedroom side of the bathtub (which is totally open). The shower has an opaque door on it and the toilet is in a room (water closet). We were worried about the layout before we got there, but it turned out being okay. Without the curtain, it would have been very difficult to get ready in the evenings. However, the shower is HUGE. My dad often got dressed in the shower after drying off, because it was more private and lots of room. The views from this resort are absolutely stunning. I highly recommend ocean front rooms if you are debating. We also used the free paddle boats and kayaks. The resort isn't huge so it's easy to walk all over it and it's also super easy to access the other two resorts if you want. We went to most of the evening parties. Only problem we had was that most of them are outdoors at the beach or the outdoor bar. It was super hot since we were there in August, so it was hard to really do too much dancing. But we sure did our best! I was traveling with a group that has stayed at many all-inclusive resorts from every luxury brand and they all agreed this could be the new favorite.
upon arrival we were greeted welcome to jamaica at the door. the door man helped with our luggage the hotel was gorgeous, we were checked in quickly and place in a room with a nice view . the rooms are just like their picture tub in the room, liquor dispensors which we never used. great shower nice water pressure helpful staff. breakfast buffet was amazing different types of food i always get the fresh omlets the person making it will always be singing it was lovely. lunch we also tried here and adjacent hotel riu their jerk chicken on the beach was amazing, lines. entertainment we went to sister hotel every night and the other couples hotel riu for their beach party which was amazing, the entertainment crew on both hotels were amazing, i didnt stay at this hotel for the entertainment so i cant review it. Overall my stay here was amazing wish i had more days to stay and i will stay again.

We just got to this beautiful resort today and we really like it here. However, we faced one unexpected problem. We came here to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary about which we notified our sunwing representative when we were booking our trip. The sunwing representative promised to us that we will get an upgrade for our room and romantic dinner on the day of our anniversary. We were very happy about it and had been waiting for this special for us day. Today we finally got here and we are very upset about what we were told on the reception. The receptionist told us that without our marriage certificate they can't organize anything for our anniversary . Since, the sunwing representative never told us about it , we didn't even think to take this document with us . As well, we don't have anyone home to send the copy of it. It's not the end of the World , but it's very sad when it happens to you. I think that travelers must be notified about this rule.
