Our Opinion

With its great location, less than 10 minutes from the airport, you can start your vacation right away. Along with its modern decor, Riu Palace Jamaica has a friendly and attentive staff and delicious dining options as is expected with the Riu chain. There is a selection of activities and entertainment offered at the resort but for the most part, this adults only resort is considered a more of a quiet retreat. And with a private, white-sand beach there are no beach vendors or timeshare sales people. If you are looking for more action, take advantage of the full exchange privileges at the Riu Montego Bay right next door.

Located just 20 minutes from Montego Bay, this new adults only property offers guests top-quality service, comfort and a wide range of lavish amenities all under one roof. Nestled in the tranquil Mahoe Bay, this all inclusive resort is a tropical sanctuary ideal for spending intimate moments under the sun. Hit the green for some rounds of golf at the many world-class courses nearby, traverse the beach on horseback, sail, surf or simply relax by the shimmering pool. Couples, singles and groups won't be able to resist a Jamaica vacation at Riu Palace Jamaica, which offers a selection of rooms and suites featuring balconies or terraces, and caters to guests' unique travel needs. Riu Palace Jamaica serves up international cuisines bursting with flavour at the buffet and many a la carte restaurants featuring everything from Japanese favourites to Italian delights, beachside snacks to delicious grilled varieties. If you are looking for an ultra relaxing retreat for you and your sweetheart, or a sensational spa getaway with the girls, the wellness centre features a luxurious spa with soothing treatments and therapies. Unforgettable RIU vacations in Jamaica start at the Riu Palace Jamaica.

Fantastic honeymoon at RIU Palace

The hotel was fantastic but it was really the staff the made the stay at this hotel so good. I would stay again without any hesitation. I would recommend you eat all the Jamaican food as this was the best served food in my opinion ( Jerk chicken was amazing, not scotchie level but still amazing)Room were clean and had nice modern feel to them, grounds were lovely and like I said the staff couldn't be more helpful.

Best Vacation Yet.

I have never been so relaxed and happy in my life. RIUs staff was more then perfect and genuinely full of good people. If u are ever stressed out and in desperate need of break from the rest of the world here is where I need to be. BTW the food here is so good! Especially at the smaller restaurants.

One of our favorite Caribbean Hotels

We were headed to Negril in July , but we like to stop in Montego Bay for a couple nights after we arrive Jamaica to " get chill " . This is the perfect place to start your vacation . Starts with a champagne upon arrival and they are very good about getting you into your hotel room early if its possible . Lunch is available in the buffet or they have a really cool snack bar with all our favorite snack foods ( mozzarella sticks , fries , Jamaica patties , wings, fries , burgers and on and on. The rooms are beautiful with an in room Jacuzzi tub , so bring your bubble bath . There are 2 pools plus you can use the facilities at the Riu Reggae and the Riu Montego Bay. Food is awesome ...the buffets are excellent but we like their ala carte restaurants which do not require reservations . They have lots of fun games poolside during the day ....Our only complaint is the music played poolside ... we come to Jamaica to chill and listen to Reggae and they play a lot of the " rap crap " poolside ...they should calm the music down a bit...other than that we love it there and will definitely go back again.

Just got back last week and the trip was fantastic from start to finish. The food was that good, the buffet restaurant was I thought better than the a la carte ones. The food choice and freshness, quality was top notch. But what really made this hotel, was the staff. The entertainment team, Kyash and 'fun fun' especially were brilliant. Aisha and the bar team were great. The best person overall was Richard, very Genuine and personable. Drinks obtainable all day long along with food. No restrictions on any type of drink or how many (line them up)!!Literally never been to an all inclusive hotel for two weeks and thought i wasn't ready to be home. This one, I could have stayed for 3/4 weeks very happily. Can't wait to go back!

TERRIBLE PLACE.. customer service not good . They will give you a hard time to cancel and not help you.

Check-INApril 18 2017 the sister hotel had a gas explosion that and one employee passed due to that. They never notified anyone about the explosion that happen right next door. All of the rooms end up over booking because they had to move everyone from that hotel to the riu palace. Due to that issue I did not receive good service. The gas explosion happen before that April 19 2017 weekend which they should have notified the customers prior to that weekend. Instead they allowed the place to be over booked. I never received my upgrade hotel room. I paid so much to stay there and got no service. Wait time for check in- 2.5 hours after 4 pmRoom: They rooms are not that clean and they smell really bad. It smelled like mildew. I asked to change rooms and they denied me because all the rooms were gone. Also, the room had plenty of crack, stains on the sheets and curtains. I pay for customer service and the service was terrible. I asked to cancel my reservation and they continued to charge for that day instead of allowing me to leave due to their issue. They never helped me to transition into a different hotel and charged me. I asked to be upgraded instead since the room smelled awful and they denied that. Awful experience. I spent and wasted hours of my time there trying to get my issues resolved. They never helped me at all and gave me such a hard time on my vacation. I posted this review before and it was not published. The Wi-Fi does not work. Food is not the best. Hilton hotel is way better and the customer service is better as well. Beach: Extremely small. More hotel area than beach. Man made beach. Very tiny.Jamaica riu place just wants money. They are owned Mexico and you have no way in contacting anyone to help you. Just go to Hilton hotel or Hyatt's. Its a bit more expensive but the quality of the service is better. We pay for customer service and to relax and I did not get that there. I know every one can't be happy but if there is a issue due to the hotel the customer should not be punished for it. I would never stay there or recommend any one.
