Our OpinionWhite beaches with private boardwalks and crystal blue water line this beautiful oceanfront property. Guests at the Royal Decameron Montego Bay can enjoy time in the resort's two swimming pools, both with views of the sea and one with a swim-up bar. At night, try various international and local dishes in Passa Passa and Souk Restaurants before taking in the nightly show and dancing at our private disco. Great value at this Montego Bay resort.
Royal Decameron Montego Beach provides a cool and comfortable setting for a relaxing Caribbean vacation in a great location on Montego Bay. Casual and friendly, the resort offers a superb standard of accommodation at amazing value. Head to the beach to experience a variety of exciting water sports or stroll along its beautiful boardwalk overlooking the ocean. Take advantage of nearby shops, markets and nightlife on Montego Bay's famous hip strip or stay put and enjoy the resort's own brand of evening entertainment, including live shows and themed dinners.
Location: Directly on the beach in the heart of Montego Bay, within walking distance of the famous 'Hip Strip', only 5 minutes from the airport.
A good location with some lovely staff but spoilt by other factors. Our book in took 25minutes although no one was ahead of us. Lost booking, wrong names, incompetence. Rooms were fine and the hotel is in a beautiful setting. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good in the restaurants.Wifi was poor and expensive and unbelievably they wanted to charge for a lock on the room safe. What hotel does not want to ensure its guest's valuables are safe? There was much loud music and 'pool games' which was fine if that was what you wanted but not if you did not. Getting a towel was a major task. Our room was not made up after the first night but after complaining it was done.Leaving was a nightmare. The Car park is across the road and in spite of signs and security on the hotel entrance completely unregulated. Someone had blocked our car in and no one knew who owned it or was too interested in moving it. With a deadline to get to Kingston we had to threaten with breaking into the car after 1 1/2 hrs. before the manager got a group to bounce it out of the way. Poor arrangements and poor customer care.
I would first like to say I must say thank you to the front desk especially Andre and Damin, but all at the front desk were amazing with me and very friendly and attentive. Which goes a long way with excellent customer service skills. Check in was great very efficient. The room was basic but hey who's there to sit in the room. If you can shower and sleep all is great. And the maids were absolutely amazing. The grounds were also very well kept. I always seen someone sweeping or wiping down counters. This is a very clean hotel. The entertainment staff /bartenders ...WOW. They are a very friendly bunch. Words cannot describe. You made my trip unforgettable. FOOD: Terrible. From talking to other guests they were also not very impressed with the food. If your going on vacation makes no difference where to, you want to experience the culture. Now being in Jamaica you would expect a Jerk hut or at least a lot more Jerk chicken. ( I have been to other resorts & they had Jerk huts for the guest whether it be during the day on the beach or at night... just a suggestion and something to consider). I have nothing more to say about the food.My overall experience was wonderful and I could list just about everyone name but I do not want to leave anyone out. So I would like to say to the management appreciate the staff that you have as they do a WONDERFUL job and you couldn't ask for a better TEAM. I will see you all soon. And once again thank you for my 1st visit at the Decameron Mobay and making me want to come back.
This hotel is very over priced for what you get, maybe you are paying for the location which is really good 5min from airport, the rooms are OK bathrooms need updating and some days I noticed stains on new put on bed sheets, I had a slight sea view which was nice to wake up to,staff at reception was friendly and helpful. My biggest fault with this hotel is the food at the bar grill I was given raw meat when I showed the wAitress the blood from chicken she didn't look to botherd that bad I didn't eat in hotel for at least three days even doe I paid for all inclusive its jamaica they need to do better, Entertainment were really good and went out their way to please all their guest especially jam jam she is great such a lovely friendly well mannered young lady. The hotel is ok if you want a short laid back break but for me the negatives out weigh the positives.
Stayed at the Montego Bay location a few days ago. While the front desk staff as well as servers were attentive and friendly, and the grounds of the property was clean and well kept, my overall experience was just average. Food: The food is terrible. Not enough variety/selection. I have stayed at other hotels with far better food. The best food I had was at a restaurant on the property. I was tempted to leave the property to get some tasty Jamaican food.Room: The room was generally clean, and the view from the bedroom is awesome (ocean view). The bathroom is a bit small. You have to pay for a fridge in your room and I had to get ice from the ice machine down the hall! No coffee machine. You get a bottle of water on arrival but have to fill up after that.Entertainment: I attended 2 shows while I was there--live band was okay; You also have to pay US$5 per hour for Wi-fi.The taxi service to the airport which is about 3 mins away costs US$15.. the regular taxi service is $100 (Jamaican) but you have to leave the property (steps away) and wait for a local taxi. If travelling with a lot of luggage, then it makes sense to take the cab that comes on the premises for US$15.00.I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel as it is -- in the future, if they include Wi-fi, a fridge/coffee machine in the room in the package, and vastly improve the food, then I would consider recommending/returning.
My idea of a great holiday. Sun, sea, sand, fully inclusive, food was good, restaurants worth visiting, entertainment good and not too same same. Good area near Dunns River and Mo Bay and Ochi. Good variety of activities.
