Our OpinionWhite beaches with private boardwalks and crystal blue water line this beautiful oceanfront property. Guests at the Royal Decameron Montego Bay can enjoy time in the resort's two swimming pools, both with views of the sea and one with a swim-up bar. At night, try various international and local dishes in Passa Passa and Souk Restaurants before taking in the nightly show and dancing at our private disco. Great value at this Montego Bay resort.
Royal Decameron Montego Beach provides a cool and comfortable setting for a relaxing Caribbean vacation in a great location on Montego Bay. Casual and friendly, the resort offers a superb standard of accommodation at amazing value. Head to the beach to experience a variety of exciting water sports or stroll along its beautiful boardwalk overlooking the ocean. Take advantage of nearby shops, markets and nightlife on Montego Bay's famous hip strip or stay put and enjoy the resort's own brand of evening entertainment, including live shows and themed dinners.
Location: Directly on the beach in the heart of Montego Bay, within walking distance of the famous 'Hip Strip', only 5 minutes from the airport.
Well. I had a wonderful time, the food was great. the staff was amazing and the weather was perfect with outstanding sunsets. just enough rain to cool the air occasionally. I had to pay to rent a fridge.( a first for me. and I travel frequently. not cool). Make sure when booking this resort. ask for the Cornwall is the new side. this side has fridges and other amenities you don t get on the old side The older side is still very nice. six feet from the water. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. The location is perfect. close to the airport, shopping and on the beach. Freedom 55.
This resort is good but depends what you are looking for. If you are a picky person, probably not the resort for you. We booked through Air Transat, and our rep, Annemarie, was absolutely amazing. Pros:- awesome beach - while small, it's pretty private - only went to Cornwall Decameron beach once- can use beach there just not facilities, also a nice beach- water is incredible and clean- great location: close to 'hip strip' and 20 min walk to downtown Montego Bay- free shuttle to Pier One and Margaritaville - ask front desk for days it goes- both 'a- la carte' is excellent - liked it more than buffet - buffet is alright - ocean view is great from balcony; spectacular sunsets- liked the hammock's at the resort - nice feature - Lobby bartenders are amazing: Mr. Gray and Mark were awesome - 10 minute drive from airport - authentic experienceCons:- rooms are really outdated and unclean - need to update them and cleaning needs to be better - buffet is ok - but wish there was more Jamaican cuisine - breakfast options were limited Just know it is 3 star and if you are picky or like extreme cleanliness and lots of amenities, this is not the resort for you. The safe is $2/day - reasonable.
Sorry but our staying in this resort was very unpleasant. The resort is very old and it needs a lot of maintenance. Our mattress were old and stain. There were a couple of shower curtains hooks missing. The Buffett wasn't great also.
well..where to start.....ok 1st day,,,1st room allocated,DIRTY..asked to move,yh ok we was allocated another room,at may i add $170 !!! cos it had a sea view, although that wasnt foremost in my mind cos i think its more the inside than out that matters,we paid,we moved..BUT..air con broken,so moved again..so 3 moves in a matter of 30 minuets..so after a long flight and being absolutly shattered we decide to eat and chill....and wow,the food....worse than the food on the plane, absolutly AWFUL....i dont know what type of food it was but in all my years travelling this was the worse....i met a previous few guest that have been there before and even they was shocked at the drop in standard of food....we paid all inclusive and ate out almost every day for every meal...not goodHaving said about the negatives, the very few good things where stacey,a waitress in the dining room, entertainers tried so hard and location was goodAll in all a week that i never want to repeat, this is an overated expensive hotel when compared to Holiday inn down the road that was spotless with fantastic food and much cheaper...needless to say will definatly not return again
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Royal Decameron. The best part about the resort is that all of the rooms are ocean view and it's all-inclusive. Pros: ocean-view rooms, all-inclusive (alcoholic drinks and buffet dining are included in your room rate), friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean rooms, readily available taxi service, tasty and healthy food options, delicious drinks (especially the rum punch), comfortable and contemporary beach seating, excellent evening entertainment, excursion agent available on site Cons: Kitchen staff didn't replenish food often enough during dining times, there were gaps in times that food was available (lunch was over and dinner wasn't available for another couple of hours), wi-fi is weak and spotty, rooms could use an update in decor Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return!
