Our Opinion
White beaches with private boardwalks and crystal blue water line this beautiful oceanfront property. Guests at the Royal Decameron Montego Bay can enjoy time in the resort's two swimming pools, both with views of the sea and one with a swim-up bar. At night, try various international and local dishes in Passa Passa and Souk Restaurants before taking in the nightly show and dancing at our private disco. Great value at this Montego Bay resort.

2nd visit to this hotel and it didn't disappoint us , we had a wonderful relaxing time , rooms were clean food was great always a good variety , I'm not up for the entertainment at hotels I like to relax

Birthday Trip

This is one of the best laces in Montego Bay Jamaica...the food, hospitality and the price is great. This will always be my hotel spot when I visit. The people are like family they are very friendly including front desk, doormen, food services, entertainment staff. They all make u feel very comfortable so that you have a great time.

This hotel lacks so many things , there is not much hospitality here , most of staff looks unpleasant and behaves unpleasant. It is such a disappointment. They advertise free WiFi but when you get here it's something completely different ,it comes at a cost of $5us and for those of you who thinks that children uder a certain age is free you r in for a surprise, it's only the babies that don't pay (under 3yrs ) . In the main dinning area staff having squabbles with each other , using all kinds of profonity , not in the least bit mindful of the guests that r dining. Last but not least Cyril the manager is far from suitable for his position . These people need to visit the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites and c what hospitality is 😠😠😠

We stayed here one night in July, but stayed at the Cornwall beach so we spent a lot of time here. For me personally, it gets better every year, and every time I come back I love it even more. All the staff are so friendly, couldn't fault one of them! Marshall at the lobby bar was so lovely! Felisha & charlotte the waitresses are the best!! Andre the reception manager was a life saver when we needed a room at short notice he had it sorted for us within 20 minutes, we are so grateful for this. Every time we go back they remember us by our names and we keep in touch with some staff throughout the year, and it really feels like we're at home when we come here. I understand this is a budget 3* hotel, But I actually visited a 5* hotel whilst on my vacation in Jamaica and I was treated a lot better whilst at the Decameron! I will always stay at the Decameron when I have my holiday in Jamaica, of course there's room for improvement but you can say that about anywhere you go!See you next year!

My 1st visit to Jamaica

I've just returned from a 2 weeks stay at Royal Decameron Montego Beach, and we stayed from July 13th-27th. We had booked for this trip maybe 10 months ago, mostly due to the great reviews we had read, but also after I had joined a Facebook group created by people that worship of this resorts...what a big mistake! This resort has a huge following on social media, I'm talking people that've been there 10, 20, heck 60 times. (Some exclusively going to Royal Decameron every year). Needless to say, my expectations were set high for this trip because they were all writing to me saying how great this resort is....but this is how I experienced it. This is a (very) low-budget resort, a small hotel also one of the most affordable all-inclusives in Montego Bay. I expected just that, what I didn't expect was the kind of travelers it seems to attract! I didn't find the fellow travellers to be classy or respectful of others at all. People blasting their own music on speakers around the "quiet" pool, people cutting in lines at restaurant, going in the buffet restaurant in their bikinis, or even some girls shouting at each other across the beach...maybe to attract male sttention? Anyways, some of the people present during the time of our stay was not plesant...note that big groups arrived during our last week, maybe 2-3 groups of 10 to 15 people each. Trust me, they made themselves noticed at all times. Most of the time, the pools, beaches and common areas were empty which got us wondering were everyone went during the day!? The entertainment staff struggled to find participants for shows or activities. We were often bored, as there was not much to do at all. Yet, we were told that the hotel was way overbooked during our stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, everything we ate was really tasty and I'm a very picky eater. However, the selection of food was limited, so not a whole lot to choose from. The rooms we stayed in were amazing, big king sized beds and amazing ocean views. We were given rooms on the 4th floor after I had previously emailed the front desk manager (rooms 422 & 423 for anyone wondering). Also, the downtown location of the hotel right on the hip strip, and its proximity to airport are great. You can watch the planes land daily, airport is so close to the hotel which is convenient. The staff working there are all super friendly, the bartenders and waitresses were kind and greeted you everyday with a smile. They always introduced themselves before serving you which was a nice touch. The beaches were also a big disappointment at this resort. The one at the Royal Decameron Cornwall next door is a bit better, but it's impossible to go for walks...the ocean water is cristal clear but it's not much of a beach if that's important to you. Also the pools could use a good cleanup, water was troubled and wasn't inviting most days! Jamaica is a beautiful country that I'd return to in a heartbeat! But the Royal Decameron I just can't recommend to others wishing for a relaxing vacation.
