With great food options, quality drinks, gorgeous beaches and a plethora of activities within reach, the Secrets St. James is a prime all-inclusive resort for couples and adults wanting a quieter and relaxing getaway.

With a stunning location on a private, sugar-white sand beach, Secrets St. James presents guests with a quiet, relaxing, oceanfront destination. The resort's classic furniture and modern fabrics echo this modern take on the sophistication of the Victorian era. Should a guest want to kick up the excitement a notch, there's Secrets Wild Orchid next door, with it's welcoming Jamaican vibe. The best of two worlds.

Location: Beachfront, 35 minutes from Montego Bay Airport.

Very nice place!

Good food, great staff. All restaurants and bars were amazing. Rooms could be improved with quality of air conditioning (very humid) and privacy of the washroom. All the site was very nice with activities and the possibility to just relax if that’s what you want.

Wonderfully relaxing

My first review so they will get better with time. Arrived at Secret St. James with our taxi entering into securely gated resort to begin our 6 day stay. On exiting taxi I don't think we touched our luggage again as it was whisked away to our room. We entered a foyer with reggae music playing and a fully decorated Christmas tree....nice touch there. We were met by very nice staff offered a drink and reminded another was available should we desire. Check-in was extremely efficient and courteous. Were then sent to Amstar to book any excursions we may want, there was no pressure to select more once we made our selections. 3 pools were available all were nice, clean and there was a swim-up bar at one. The enjoyable part of this pool was constant activities from rock trivia to water aerobics and many others all day with a mix of ages from 20s to 70s all interacting in a respectable manner. The room was more than we had expected. It was very clean and the staff kept it that way through out our stay. Large jetted tub. Large 2-head shower. Many restaurants available and we visited them all. At each I would order and I was often asked "would the gentleman like a double order". Well, I don't know who they were talking to but I often accepted for him. Wait-staff was polite and accommodating and did not know the word "no". It was overcast and lite rain most of our stay but the staff made up for the weather. At one point we were in a hot-tub with a 20 of other people while mist fell from an overcast sky and a staff member came over to ask how things were. Some person replied "great if we had 20 drinks" everyone laughed and the staff member departed. Five minutes later 3 staff members walked up and delivered more than 20 drinks, one said "I could never count well", very nice touch of humor and service.Overall despite the weather (completely beyond their control) the staff, room, restaurants, amenities were very nice. Already booked our next trip there in May. The spa was awesome. Try the circuit. Went 3 times each time lasted from 8am until noon.Do yourself a favor and try this place. Concierge Andrew is awesome! He often made suggestions that turned out better than what I had planned, listen to him!

Great Trip

Another great trip planned by our friends at Dream Makers Vacation Services. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was at this resort. The service was unbelievable from the moment we arrived. We were greeted at the door where a bellman took our bags and we never had a worry from that point on. The room had an amazing view of the water and was both comfortable and clean. The food at the resort was delicious especially Bordeaux which is the most elegant restaurant at the resort. The hibachi restaurant was also terrific where Chef Lifeja not only made great food but made us laugh with his terrific singing and humor. The beach is beautiful and we always had someone there to bring us a drink if we needed. I would recommend this resort to anyone going to Jaimaca who is looking to have a great trip.

Don't book through Apple Vacations!

This is a fantastic all inclusive resort. Must be 18 & older to book and everyone must wear clothes. I cannot say enough good things about this place from our room to the staff to the food, the amenities! There was a jetted soaking tub in our bathroom. The room was spacious with plenty of drawer & closet space. Our king bed was perfect with lots of pillows. There was a love seat, coffee table, an eating table & 2 chairs. 8 restaurants to choose from & lots of bars. There were covered barrels along the paths by the beach with ice cold water. The staff was always smiling, pleasant, with a happy "How are you". The only negative we encountered was a 90 minute sales pitch to join their vacation club that stretched into 3 hours! It took up our first morning there. Apple did have a wonderful appreciation surf & turf dinner that was very good & unexpected.

Relaxing

My husband and I had a lovely week at Secrets St James. A big place, really nice, relaxing we didn’t want to come home, a week wasn’t long enough. So it rained a lot, every day, but there was still loads to do. It didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. The staff are all really friendly and so happy even in the rain. Umbrellas everywhere which was so needed. It was still hot. Rooms serves was great. Rooms are nice and big. I celebrated my 40th birthday there, it was the best birthday I’ve ever had. The only negative is, The bathroom needs to be cleaned better. And we didn’t have bath robes, I had to ask for them. Our room was so cold, the cleaners kept putting the air con on, so when we got in our room out off the rain it was freezing. It was faulty the maintenance man came out and fixed it, then it went wrong again, it wouldn’t get hot, then a different man came out and changed the valve, then It was sorted. They come out straight away. We ate in all the restaurants they were all amazing. My favourite was the Jamaican, just need the lemon pie from the French place, as that was amazing, I even took one back to our room. Japanese was very entertaining ate there twice. Menu tasted better. Every thing I ate tasted amazing. I do eat most things. Beach waiter every morning was so funny and full off cheer first thing with a hang over, he just love getting drinks for you. All drinks are lovely, top brands at the piano bar. The beach boat guys were great, loved our chats and banter with them, and the gardener even made our holiday, they are all so friendly. Yeah manBeach towels are lovely quality easy to get. You don’t even need to pick them up, everyone do everything for you. If you haven’t extended your sun bed in half an hour then they take your towels, so no need to get up early for a subbed there are plenty. Even at night getting ready to go out, you get turn down service at about 7pm. I’ve stayed at lots off 5* hotels but never had that. Every night we spoke to staff or other guests mostly Americans they were all lovely people. The pineapple man and jerk chicken man walk up and down the hotel pushing there bbq or cart it’s just brilliant taste so nice. The beef pasties are amazing from the snack hut on the beach. I want to go back.
