This is our third Secrets Resort vacation, first time in Jamaica. First, a shout out to Taneesha on the beach...she was amazing and made it a great beach experience for us! However, the overall service was slower than other Secrets, could just be because of Island Time, but a little below the Secrets level of service in Cancun and Maroma. The staff was all friendly, but not especially attentive, only Taneesha stood out in that respect. She knew our group and was happy to see us each day on the beach. For example, long lines at the breakfast buffet and one night at dinner, all the specials were gone, as well as a few menu items...it was only 9:00. However, the biggest problem was that Secrets itself was an excursion for the Carnival Cruiseship that docked one day...the resort became overrun with Cruise people who maxed out the waitstaff and took up many beach and pool chairs. We had a very good week overall, but I have to say it was not my highest rated Secrets Experience.
We stayed at Wild Orchid for two weeks and got married whilst there. The wedding was perfect and all of the staff involved were brilliant. It was the ideal, stress-free wedding. We enjoyed everything about this resort, the food, the staff, the room, the facilities were all amazing. We were so sad to leave and will definitely be back in the future. Jamaica is a beautiful country and we got out and about a lot to try and experience it properly. Everyone there made us feel at home and can't wait to return one day.
I stayed at this resort for 3 nights and 4 days. Preferred club gets you a private butler. The butler provides you with a personal cell phone so you can call at any time. The drinks are tropical. The views are amazing the food is amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I will be returning with friends next year!
My Wife and I just spent a week in Jamaica at the Secrets resort on the Wild Orchid side and it was simply fantastic. It was the greatest way I could have imagined us spending our first week as a married couple. The rooms are romantic and they really do it right for the honeymooners. The restaurants are fancy; we especially loved the french restaurant. The spa was very relaxing and a perfect way for the bride to unwind. Lastly, the staff was amazing. We spent the day at BARacuda where Leo and Chrisna kept our drinks full while we sat on the beach (Respect!!!!). At night, Phillip at the Piano Bar was on point with our mojitos and vodka tonics. Men, if your looking for a way to really allow your bride to decompress for your honeymoon after stressful wedding planning, this place will not disappoint!
Second time visit to Jamaica, First time visit to Montego Bay. Spent 5 days/4nights, came for my cousin's birthday. No excursions on this trip, just straight up R&R.ROOM: We booked the OceanFront suite although it felt like it was an OceanView but nonetheless the views were breathtaking. Loved the amenities, balcony, the rain shower and the whirlpool tub. FOOD: We tried all of the restaurants except for the Mexican and the Seafood. My favorites were the Jamaican (Blue Mountain), The Buffet (World Cafe) and the Japanese (Hitmisu). For Blue Mountain, I ordered the Oxtail with rice and it reminded me of the way my mom cooks it, yummy!! The Buffet served grilled Lobsters. For me, a buffet that serve all you can eat Lobster, grilled or jerk you name it is a plus!! It was cooked to perfection!! For the Japanese spot, you should reserve the Hibachi. It's just an awesome experience. The main highlight for me was the Jerk Man Food Cart. Oh man, what a delight it was to eat Jerk Chicken during the day (Noon to 2 pm) and late night (Midnight to 3 AM) after partying at Pier One. I miss it dearly.SERVICE: Overall, the services were good. The check-in, the servers at the beach/pool, piano bar, anywhere throughout the resort. Special Thanks to Taschelle who took care of us during our stay. She was very attentive. Although, the spa is being renovated, the spa was very good. Special Thanks to Marsha and Joanne. You must TIP!! TIP!! TIP!!! My crew and I did not experienced any issues with any of the staff because we all Tipped and they appreciated it. Some even Thanked us for being the only people who actually tipped which baffled all of us. Yes people, it is an all-inclusive resort, but you should still tip. Tipping goes a long way, try it sometime, you'll thank me later. BEACH: It is rocky as you enter and then it smooth sand. But bring your water shoes. The water is calm, nice and warm. Beware for Jellies. I spotted one but then again it is Hurricane and Jelly season.POOL: LIke in most resorts, the lounge chairs on the main pool were first come, first served, so it was difficult at times to find one so we opted out for the Preferred Pool side which I enjoyed the most. It is very quiet but you get to enjoy the pool float, loved the couches which were nice and comfy, the drinks were on point on the preferred side and the views were spectacular. The hot tub on the preferred side was perfect, we had it all to ourselves. Loved it!!ENTERTAINMENT: The live band was phenomenal!! Loved that it was outside, it was such a beautiful atmosphere. Loved the outdoor movie theater, they played The Revnant. You can sit down and enjoy coffee or even soft served ice cream while you enjoyed the movie. YEAH MON!!
