We had a fantastic time at Sunscape. We just got home stayed 10/11/16 to 10/18/16. Perfect weather! We were greater in the cove lobby with cool face cloths and rum punch. The bell men Andre and Romano were amazing and would not let us lift a finger. As soon as we went to the bar we knew that we were at home. The far staff was amazing! Orlando, Wadi, Ian, Tony, Henry, Jovaun, and Leni made our trip so enjoyable with their jokes, spirit, and excellent mixology skills! We had breakfast at the Cove restaurant every day and Manley was fantastic. The room and grounds were fantastic but the staff here is what made or stay so memorable. I highly recommend the cove side for couples. The two extra restaurants and top shelf bar were well worth the extra money. Overall I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Sunscape Cove for an amazing vacation!
Just visited with son, daughter-in-law, and two young grandchildren. The resort was excellent for getting around and everything was close. Lots of activities for the 4 year old. Food was good overall and drinks were readily available
I booked 6 nights here and I booked an Ocean view king on Cove side. I was under the impression that all 122 rooms were renovated and they aren't! "These charming beachfront accommodations, featuring 122 newly renovated rooms with chic décor and a Caribbean flair, are surrounded by Montego Bay" It clearly says it on their main page! I went down to front desk and was told for $400 I could get the ocean front, then after seeing the room was told they can do it $250. Fine! I wished I fought more, as it was clearly false! I was not staying 6 nights in a room with holes in the wall under the mirror and mold in bathroom shower. I wished I took pictures as it was disgusting!Alright, I got in the new room that night, I really enjoyed my room as it had a wonderful view and very quiet to say the least. Check in: Archie greeted us and took our luggage to our room for us and also for check out! He very good at his job! René checked us in and she was very soft spoken and even though I was upset about my first room, she tried extremely hard to be accommodating and understanding. Rene’ is a sweetheart and because she was so sweet, I could not remain upset about the room situation! Food: Patrick from Terrace Cove was very accommodating as we did not want “traditional American” food but authentic Jamaican! I loved Patrick and the entire staff here! This was by far my favorite restaurant at the resort! The buffet tended to bland. The Jerk chicken guy by the beach was AMAZING! I had this almost every day we were there! Coco café- BEST Iced coffee! Seaside Grill- I loved their shrimp and red snapper! The waiters were also very awesome! Gohan- I honestly did not like their food at all! It was probably the worst food at the entire resort! With the Sushi plate, you get two small pieces of sushi. We ventured out and went to Kong Palace for Jamaica Chinese and that was excellent! Pools: The Pirates Paradise Waterpark was old and smelled of mold! Be VERY careful as it is extremely slippery to go to slides, I wore nonslip water socks and still almost slipped several times!!!! The waterslides were pretty decent and dropped you into 5 or 5 ½ ft of water. The Lifeguard (cannot remember his name) was amazing, he saved my sunglasses from the bottom of the pool! I also felt that the “lazy river” did not have enough tubes and the water did not move you fast, it is not like we are used to at the water parks here in the states! There is a main pool where they have daily activities, I did go in there for all of 5 mins and realized it went to only 4 ft and then went to the pool bar which also went to maybe 4 ½ ft (which was for adults only) on the other side of the bar, kids were allowed. Beach: BRING WATER SHOES! Clear water, great for snorkeling, but it is not very sandy, but rather a lot of seaweed. Glad I thought of the shoes last minute! The secluded beach past the white fence, ummmmm no! It is horrible, Florida has better beaches and clearer water! Just saying.Tours: We booked transportation through Amstar roundtrip was $46 for two people! They go to Secrets resort next door, so be prepared for some stops. We also, booked through them to go roundtrip to Negril and OMG that was THE best part of our vacation!!!! We paid $300 for two adults, this included : Catamaran boat ride to Ricks Café in Negril, snorkeling, lunch and drinks. Then you get to venture in Ricks Café and bus ride back to hotel from 12pm to about 8pm in total! Totally worth it! Very friendly, great instructions for snorkeling if you had not done it before and Joe (our driver) was funny and entertaining! Also, keep your wrist band on this helps the driver and Captain to identify you are ready for pick up at Ricks Café .Spa: We decided to do a couples massage, They give you coupons when you first check in, $40 off each person. So, for the two of us we paid $198. I got the Swedish Massage and he got neck and shoulders. Extremely relaxing and for my first massage, I was impressed! I would definitely do again! All in all, I must say this is a great resort and I hope they continue to renovate the hotel!
Lashana, owana, marsha Lee,Sabrina romario,Nicolas All the entertainers particularly the above worked hard both in the mornings and nights to put on activities and shows. They truly helped make the experience here worthwhile and memorable. This was my second visit here and the staff is definitely one of the reasons why. And the female security in the entertainment Centre. Awsome
My 27 year old daughter and I just spent 4 days here. Just average. Service was good. Everyone is working hard but I am not sure they have enough staff. The food was average and repetitive. The pools were great. Beach was great. Lounge chairs uncomfortable and old. Our beds were small double beds. Room was average and the bathroom was old. This would be fine for a bunch of college kids. But almost no evening activities. The young kids seemed to have fun. AC was good but the room was very loud. The music all day was very loud. It was impossible to find a quiet place anywhere during the day. Hope this helps.
