Sunscape Cove Montego Bay

It was my first time staying at sunscape at the cove since having been regarded and my was it a pleasurable experience. There were some minor hiccups at check in which was eventually sorted out by the efficiency of Melacia and Letishia (front office manager), hope I got her name right. I was later whisked off to my room by the Lemardo who showed me my room and it's amenities. I must say that the hotel has improved leaps and bounds. The rebranding has done the property well. Having stayed at the other hotels under the brand, breathless and secrets, the room at the cove was big and spacious and the bed was nice. I slept comfortably. I didn't do much as I stayed only for one night. I'm sure if I'd stayed longer id have had a much more memorable experience. The overall service in the main dining area needs a little improvement as waiters and waitresses tend to float by patrons who are parched for a glass of water. I did use the disco and it was very pumping with the latest beats. Overall, id say it was a great experience and id return. However, I prefer more adult experience so I'll be forced to stay at either breathless or secrets....more Breathless. Great job guys.
From the time of our arrival it was an experience of being truly pampered and spoiled , we are the explorers when we travel , never staying at the hotel much , we left early everyday but in this time we spent , the staff was fantastic catering to our needs , we lacked for nothing delicious local dishes fresh juices and lots of love and care . Snacks for our trips , and i cant start to tell how much we appreciated the pampering on our return , always exhausted we were always looked after, because of the hurricane we had to stay over a few days more,I must mention a few persons that made our stay and extended stay most enjoyable. Jameel , Kerry-Ann, Rhea,Denise,Jhonele and Danea thank you darlings for all the love . We cant wait to come back next year and see you all. I must say that the tour of the Secrets hotel was lovely the only down side is it took up alot of time , this tour should be explained as an investment from the get go so persons will not waste their time if not interested, the tour guides that took us around the secrets hotel were great and courteous but the UVC sales manager Melissa was very rude and insulted us when we said we will want some time to discuss any new investing. She outright said to us " so you both just wanted the gifts and free breakfast ". this is after we cancelled our activities for the morning . we would not like any one else to be subjected to that especially my friends that will be visiting soon. We would like to say a hearty thank you to all that made our stay such a lovely experience and we cant wait to come back, love to you all.
Due to the Hurricane the airport was closed so we decided to leave our place in Negril and head up to Montego Bay as we have never spent time there Our budget was draining since we did not plan to stay another week. So cost was a factorWe had been adventure traveling for the previous three weeks so we decided to just relax in an all inclusive. We where already in Jamaica so didn't need flights The top resorts which look great where a minimum of $350.00 a night We wanted to spend $200.00We found this place for $198.00 per night so we took itThe location and beach are nice. The beach is not very big. There are lots of kids. It is a kids oriented placeThe pools are good and a great water slide park for the kids Food is kids food or school food It is very plain basic and barely eatable When you book you have two optionsSunscape splashSunscape cove The cove is more expensive but advertises higher quality. It is the same hotel same pools same bars same dinning (except one restaurant, which isn't that special) don't pay for the higher price side The room is nice as good as any 3-4 star location. We had room service (the cove side only, but your options are extremely limited and they bring you the food that can't be served in the buffet. It is bad)All in all the place is worth the $200 especially if you have kids Next time we will stay in a hotel with a pool non all inclusive and eat in the neighborhood. Also we won't stay in Montego Bay againStay in Negril.
My husband decided to surprise me for our one year wedding anniversary to somewhere the both of us had never been before, Jamaica. My husband did an excellent job planning this trip I must add. He booked our trip via Apple vacations. Sunscape Cove was the side of a split resort we stayed on due to it being more geared towards adults. The scenery was beautiful and very tranquil. The splash side of the resort is more family and kid friendly due to the waterpark. The cove side only offers the Da Mario restaurant and the Terrace. We dined at both restaurants, Da Mario our first night in paradise and Terrace for two breakfasts and one lunch. The food was very delicious. Although on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 we had lunch at the Terrace and I had been on the search for conch since our plane landed on September 2, 2017. Well they had conch fritters on the menu, I ordered them, but my appetite was left disappointed. After ordering them, the waitress returned to our table to tell me that the conch was still frozen and I would have to order something else. I was heartbroken because I love conch and had not had any to eat since 2008. I literally had to bridle my tongue, because I so wanted to tell the waitress to tell the chef to get in a boat and go grab one out of the ocean for me. Conch is easily accessible and the beach was only a few steps away from the restaurant. Instead, I remained disappointed and polite at the same time. The cove staff are very attentive, polite, and welcoming. Our favorite staff members were Taneen, and bellhop Kevon. We did frequent the splash side due to it having more restaurants( Portofino, Goshan, Seaside Grill, Windows Buffet, Barefoot Grill, Baracuda Bar, 24 hour Coco Cafe, and a swim up bar at the adults only pool). It was also a plus how the hostess at Da Mario and Goshan asked if we had any food allergies. That was great because I do have food allergies and it showed that they cared enough to ask. Other resorts need to incorporate this as well. However, I advise others to avoid the Windows Buffet if they can. The food was very subpar in comparison to other resorts I have stayed at. The food at the a la carte restaurants (Da Mario, Terrace, Goshan, and Portofino) were 5 star ratings in food based on my experience. One night, Seaside Grill had a Terrace styled dinner and the food there was very delicious, but the service failed due to being unorganized. We were seated at 6pm, but did not get our meal for almost 2 hours. People were getting upset and leaving to go eat at Windows buffet that night. My husband and I stayed because watching the sunset and the romantic ambience they had created outside was great for us. Our room was very nice, clean, insect free, and cozy. We had a garden view and the walk to the beach was very short. The beach was okay, and I say "okay" because in order to get into the ocean one has to step onto numerous various sized rocks. That is annoying to be walking on rocks, stumbling because of them, and having sore feet afterwards. Never have I had to endure walking on rocks in order to enjoy the ocean. I hear Negril, Jamaica has the better beaches.Minus the subpar Windows Buffet, not having conch to eat, and the rocky shoreline, our one year wedding anniversary vacation was awesome, relaxing, and romantic.
My trip to celebrate my 77th.Birthday was wonderful. The staff made me feel real great they went overboard to make sure I had a great time we had such a good time that we have already booked our next trip for May next year
