Hotel was cool, but what really stood out was the entertainment staff. They made up for everything the hotel should ever lack. Odecia, Marshalee, Ihesha , Kadine, Kenijah, and Dimitri are the best! They were all great from start to finish. They welcomed me and my group with open arms showed us new games to play, new dances, and Kept us entertained with shows every night good enough that I would have paid for solely. Their hospitality is unmatched and made my trip a great one, a special group that I will remember forever. Big ups to the Entertainment Team!! You help make me and friends and family vacation a great!
We visited this resort for the second time in June. Many Renos have taken place since our last stay in Sept 2015. The resort has also changed ownership and we were expecting positive changes as our last visit was during active renovations. We like the quick ride from the airport and location on the nature preserve.Our room was ocean view and renovated. We had Air Conditioning issues after the first night and were moved to a room on the ground floor. The shower had a leak where there was caulking missing and the water would actually drain to the door of our room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Our mini bar was filled only a few times and many times not fully restocked. Food was good. Not as good as our last visit. The addition of the jerk chicken on the beach was amazing. We were not happy that due to the time of year the Barefoot grill is not open late night. The only option after 11pm is the Coco Cafe but it only had small sandwiches and wraps. The service at the Terrace ranged from very good to horribly slow. For breakfast we visited the buffet a few times when we wanted a quicker meal. Room service staff were very friendly and the food was always hot. The house white wine was very nice. Da Mario was the best restaurant with good food and ambiance.The main beach has been cleaned of a lot of rocks since our last visit. It appears that The cove beach is not maintained. We spent most of our sun lounging time in this beach and it was dirty. I picked up many pieces of glass. Sometimes we were 2 of only a handful of people on The Cove beach. My husband went parasailing with the water sports team and he really enjoyed it. I was able to go on the boat ($) to take pictures and the equipment was new and well maintained.Many original staff members are still at the resort. Everyone was very friendly with a few exceptions. Some staff seemed Iike they were unhappy. We may return but feel there are better options for a couples trip but for a last minute vacation it was good. The hotel is now very much geared towards families which I would recommend for those with small children or travelling as a group.
This was one of the best vacations I've ever been on. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room had a magnificent ocean side view. The pools and accommodations were plentiful; buffets and restaurants included. I must have been smiling everyday from the wonderful tropical atmosphere and hospitality. We had numerous party and tour invitations which made the trip even more of a blast. It was a girls vacations and we enjoyed it so much would recommend highly to anyone. Never wanted to leave, Ill Be BACK !!!!!!!!!
Sunscape Cove is amazing. This is my second time staying here and I have brought my friend along. The hotel is very clean and the housekeepers did a great job every morning. I enjoyed that the hotel provides free transportation to Margaritaville there and back every night. Which to us was a bonus. We went zip-lining, riding ATV's, swimming with the dolphins, and had multiple massage therapy sessions. Their daily breakfast special is always amazing with the different creative food selections. Their dishes had so much flavor it is difficult to say which on is my favourite. The overall hospitality of our stay was more than anyone could ask for, because all staff were on their best behaviour and respectful. They do everything they can to make you comfortable. And That is why I love this place. Definitely coming again
This was our tenth time to this property. We have been staying here for over 17 years. Unfortunately we will never return under the current management. We have nothing to gain or lose by this review so please believe me and stay elsewhere.Check in- Spot on. We were greeted immediately and given welcome drinks. We were processed quickly and upgraded for free to oceanfront. This is where things quickly went downhill.Room - We were given 2 newly refurbished rooms. The decor was eye appealing and pleasant. The beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were also terrible. There was a 1/2 inch gap under the door that allowed sunlight and a myriad of creepy crawlies to have access to our room. Light bulbs were missing and the kids remote did not work. These things were minimal and not a big deal for us.Beach - Previously the beach was immaculate and well manicured and taken care of. This time there was litter and clutter everywhere. There were smokers everywhere without the no smoking rules being enforced. Hey it's your right to smoke but my right not to breathe it in especially chain smokers who feel that they are entitled.Food/Drinks - This was the biggest fail and disappointment. My son made a joke and weighed himself before the vacation and he honestly lost 3 pounds. Sunscape ran out of everything. You name it and they were out of it. The food was so awful that we ate at the neighboring Hard rock twice. I also hired a driver to get Jamaican beef patties as the resort no longer serves them.Water Park- This was also a huge let down to my children as the water park was filthy and disgusting. The lazy river was broken for our entire 10 Day stay and we were told it was like that for the entire month. This limited what the kids could do to entertain themselves as the teen center was almost always closed. Restaurants and Cafe - Be prepared to wait in line and then plan 2 hours for every sit down meal you have. We feel all we did this trip was wait for lousy food. The cafe used to be incredible. Nice friendly service is no longer given. Rude snotty looks and poor service is what you can expect. Our last night we went to the seaside grill for dinner. We had the rudest most terrible server Lenroy. He purposely did not bring my soup and made us waste 2 hours of our last night.Service- Although this resort is billed as all inclusive and no tipping this is not the case. One would also think if you tipped (we are from NY and tip well) that your service would be improved. Not at Sunscape as tipping was expected and rudely put out hands were common. It disgusted us. Stink faces and rudeness was encountered EVERY day. If you read my past reviews you can see how we loved this resort. We were always treated like family. There are still a few of the employees who tried to make us feel better but you can't fix broken in this case. Like I originally stated that I have nothing to gain or lose by writing an honest review. I just want to save someone from this terrible experience. For those that are writing decent reviews I suspect you were not at the same resort that We were or your standards are extremely low.
