This hotel is the bee's knees overall. Why am I visit this island? It all started 20 years ago with a skinny nerd named Jason and a goth (spiked bracelets and dog collar) named Scott...Long story short: joined a band, columbine happened, a drug dealer named Cheese, Joe's basement, a 'Z Job', the military and beating in a drum circle. That about sums up 20 years. So Scott conned, I meant wooed a beautiful girl named Lucia in Boston and they got got hitched here at Sunspash, Montego Bay. Everyone is silly friendly and $100 Jamaican dollers is a fine daily tip.On a side note the alcohol is inclusive (free, oh god it's free everywhere you turn). Red stripe is a decent beer and is on tap. The buffet is pretty good and is open most of the day. They had great vegetarian options btw. The rotating dinner options were more tricky. We had to wait +1 hour if you don't get there when it opens. The service is fantastic and the food is good. (I say good bc I had a meh dish and others were phenomenonal). My room was always clean and the mini fridge fully stocked each day, so a big thanks to Ronique for taking care of me!!Oh during our group excursions, we went to Negril: Rick's cafe, 7 mile beach, and the times Square mall (the stall the end, I think 10 or 14 had the best prices). So remember: Negotiate everything, Red Stripe is brewed in Jamaica, and Respect! *fist bump*
A wonderful warm welcome once we arrived, we were returning customers and saw big improvements within the hotel grounds. Our rooms were clean, spacious and kept very well by the maids. The food was wonderful, with a vast selection for breakfast, lunch and in the evenings we had a choice of restaurants, all were very nice but what stood out more than anything was the friendly, attentive staff, we truly couldn't have asked for more. The beech was paradise, cleaned and tidied daily. My holiday was so relaxing I'm hoping to return soon!
we had a group of 12 visit this resort. it worked well for us, the resort had everything we needed.the coco cafe is great for round the clock coffee and pastriesthe main buffet has much better food on the weekends, weekday food is ok, with Jamaican specials.there are at least 2 seafood items on the weekdays and more than than on the weekends.of the three restaurants, the asian restaurant Gohan was the best, followed by the italian and then the seafood. but we only went once to each. for big groups be ready to wait for more than an hour.the hotel facilities are nice, not too old. room service is good and prompt. fridge, tv and safe in the rooms. air conditioned as well.towel service is good.the best part of the facility is the sea, altho the beach is crappy, very little 'beach' to walk on, once u pass the sea grass there is a world of awesomeness awaiting. sea grass if filled with urchins.went scuba diving and snorkeling, rates are great, must try at kelly's watersports.the pools are not that great, they didnt seem to have a continuous purification system and are cleaned with chemicals. people with sensitive skin should stay away. one of the pool lights had come off and was hanging in the pool and no one seemed to care.the staff are great, we never faced any issues at any point of our stay. the beds are pretty good, we got the king suite. check in was easy.the kids play area is nice, and the whole water park is fun too. two big slides and a lazy river.if the deal is good, will go back again.
