Azul Beach Resort Sensatori Jamaica

We traveled to this resort with another couple. We usually do adult only resorts, but this resort has an adult only section and this time of year it is not overcrowded with children. There was a disappointment upon check in with the suite we reserved not available but staff compensated us by moving us to the presidential suite after 1 night and 2 free massages. We are convinced the presidential suite is the best room in the resort. It had panoramic views of the beautiful 7 mile beach. Maid service and cleaniliess was top notch. The pillow selection and aroma therapy was a nice detail. Food was good quality and met expectiations for a high level all inclusive. Pools were nice and plentiful and the beach was unbeatable. The staff was very friendly, however lacked a sense of urgency for serving. My only complaint was slow service ( took 70 minutes to get our lunch one day) and lack of beach drink service. Our favorite staff members were Christina at the pool bar, Omar and the lovely singing bar tender at the 7 mile beach bar in the morning that made us" Brandy girls" (we can't recall her name). Would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing laid back beach vacation!
We reserved private transportation with Erroll Flynn Tours. They greeted us at the airport and Dickon drove us the hour plus drive safely and with a cold Red Stripe. The company and staff were exceptional. We arrived Super Bowl Sunday and they were setting up a screen on the beach. Great way to watch the big game. We asked for the Premier section and a high floor away from the road based on the reviews. Our room was on the third floor but really close to the noisy road. It really is too loud to sleep. Thanks to my sound app on my phone which helped blocked the noise for the first two nights until they could move us closer to the beach. They were sold out and we understood and they did the best they could. I would suggest to management that they invest in sound proof glass and doors which may help solve this problem because this was the only issue at this beautiful resort. The rooms, the views, and the people are very nice. These special people stood out during our stay. Carlos the bellmen who helped with our room moves was extremely helpful and kind. Troy was our security on the beach who was always smiling, keeping an eye on us, and even walked us to the towel area our first day and kept an eye on our chairs so we could walk the beautiful beach. Meldena, Cheryl, and Sheryl our Spa angels. The Spa is a must do while you are there. It's a magical experience. I would recommend this property and we would return. Negril, Jamaica is a beautiful place and the Jamaican people are who make it special.
We stayed in the premium section and it is a first class resort. The staff are great and extremely attentive. The rooms are wonderful. The food is superb and the drinks are mixed with high end alcohol. Odane at the 7 mile bar makes the best Pina Colada I have ever tasted. Highly recommend the resort.
We arrived last Sunday at the Azul Senator, were greeted with champagne, sat waiting for our check-in and were then ushered into a separate office to be told there were not rooms at the resort for our entire stay. We were completely shocked and the staff, while trying to be nice, was not apologetic or helpful. We were told we would be sent to the RIU Club Negril. We went there, checked in, walked in our room and walked right back out. This hotel was 1/2 the cost of Azul and not at all what we expected. It was awful! We went back to Azul and demanded they put us in a nice, same quality resort! It took almost an hour for them to "figure out" a place to put us and we were taken to the Royalton. It was great and our trip ended up being wonderful but we were not happy to have planned a trip and then have a resort over-book. It was very disappointing.
We travelled with another couple and booked our vacation through Sunwing. We booked Couples Section Swim Up rooms. CONS:Our vacation started off a bit rocky, our plane had mechanical issues and we were delayed a few hours while we waited for a new plane. Not a big deal, these things happen. We finally arrive at our resort (approximately 6 hours late) to discover that the hotel was overbooked and that our rooms were no longer available. Richard, the night manager, informed us that there was only one room available throughout the entire resort and that we would have to share this room. When asked when the rooms that we had booked, and paid for, would be available we were told three (3) days. Who wants to spend $10,000+ to share a room with another couple?!?! Their proposed arrangement was absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. After fighting with Richard for about 1.5 hours, and mentioning that we would contact TICO and whatever other governing bodies necessary, miraculously, another room had become available. Throughout the entire conversation, Richard was very condescending and unsympathetic to our situation and needs. This seems to be a common occurrence with this resort. While checking in, a guest approached us and informed us that they too were not given the rooms that they booked and were currently sharing a room (4 adults & 1 baby). The next morning we met with the day manager who informed us that our rooms would be available by that afternoon. As compensation for our inconvenience we were give fifty (50) minute couples massages. While there, we witnessed a couple attempting to check in and being told that the resort was overbooked and their room was not available. This couple was being rerouted to the RIU for the next couple of days until they could be accommodated. The food was mediocre at best. You will always find something to eat but if you are a "foodie" this resort misses the mark and should not advertise that it has anything "gourmet". The buffet selection is extremely limited with not a lot of selection, we didn't see any seafood, other than a couple of prawns throughout our stay. Our room located in building 8 (81008) ,located steps from a busy highway which is extremely noisy day and night. I am typically a heavy sleeper and was awoken often by the traffic noise. You should be ok if you have earplugs to drown out the sound. The evening entertainment was lackluster but it was somewhere to gather in the evening and have drinks. PROS:Now on to the positive, all of the working staff (excluding management) that we dealt with always went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. They truly were amazing at ensuring we were well taken care of. A special shout out to Dwight, our swim up pool bartender, we had a lot of fun kidding around with him. The resort and grounds are very well maintained and always clean. The beach side massage (which was comped for us) was relaxing and well worth it but comes with a hefty price tag ($270 USD)The room is a nice size, always well kept and the fridge stocked regularly, with extras (water and beer) when asked. Although very nice, I personally don't feel it necessary to pay the extra for the swim up rooms as we didn't spend much time in the pool. The beach is absolutely amazing!!! I've been on a lot of all inclusive beach vacations, this beach is hands down the best I've ever seen!!I recommend that you take a walk down the beach and visit Fireman's Lobster Pit. It was delicious!Overall, we made the best of it but it is not a place I would recommend to friends or family.
