15 years ago I stayed at CoCoLapalm and I loved it! This was before I married my husband. All he had ever done was stay at all-inclusives. It took a lot of convincing, but I convinced him to try Coco with me. Well he loved it as much as I did. This place is on a perfect location on the beach. Turn to your right and walk up and down to bars and restaurants or turn to your left and do the same. Breakfast was always great at CoCo. We ordered extra eggs , but to tell you the truth the one morning I did the free continental and I was plentiful. if I went back tomorrow I think I would just stick with the free Continental everyday. For lunch we wandered up and down the beach grabbing patties or wraps. The Lobster Guy also sold as Lobster on the beach at CoCo which was only $10. We did have a wonderful dinner at CoCo I had coconut crusted Snapper which was excellent. One day when we were exploring down the beach we ran into a gentleman who is a chef. We asked him what his favorite restaurant was that he has eaten at so far on the beach as we wanted to try lots of restaurants. He said his favorite was Coco. I do have to agree it was probably our best meal. Our best meal on the cliff was by far Ivan's. When we arrived at the hotel we upgraded our room for a very small price to beachfront. That was worth every penny being able to walk down a few steps and be right on the beach. Our room was 731 right above the adult-only pool, which they did inforce I witness the Lifeguard telling children to get out several times. Nothing against children, but I've been at other Resorts where they do not enforce the adult-only pool so what's the point? The only thing I didn't care for with our room was the Step Up to get to the toilet and shower. I was always worried in the middle of the night I would miss that step and fall but thank goodness I did not. Original room we booked was a junior suite we asked to see it before we upgraded to the beachfront. It looks like a lovely room. Although the beachfront room was smaller we thought it was worth the space sacrifice to be right on the beach. I'm hoping in the future I can talk my husband into another trip to Coco. Maybe for their Halloween party next year. One tip if you want a hairdryer you have to check it out. No big deal, but had I known I would have done that when I checked in....also the day before I checked out I noticed there was a microwave in the gift shop. Good to know if you want to heat your leftovers up for lunch from the night before.
This was our fifth stay in CocoLa Palm Resort. We love to coming back there. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful. There is nothing to complain about this resort. It is suitable for family, couples or even single people. We love CocoLa Palm and will be back again.
Visited for the 1st time from 10/14-10/17 and was very impressed with the resort, check in, amenities and of course BEACH. The room was a king and you can control the air. It was all that we needed--a quiet place to sleep. The restaurant has a great beach view, has variety, very reasonably priced, good presentation and was tasty. We liked everything we ate. We will return DEFINITELY.
What a fabulous hotel, the grounds are plush and green with paths leading all over. We booked a deluxe room because I wanted a patio or balcony. I emailed the hotel a couple of weeks before we were to arrive and requested a room close the beach because I like to get up early and go to the beach and my husband likes to sleep in and I didn't want to worry him if he couldn't see me. They replied that I had paid for a pool or garden view and I left it at that. When we arrived we were happily surprised to find out that while we did have a "sort of" garden view, in that we had plants outside our room but we were also only steps from the beach. On our first day our air conditioner was not working properly but it didn't bother us too much, by the second day we had to call maintenance who agreed it was broken and said we may have to move rooms. We told him we did not want to move rooms since we loved the room we had and requested they just remove the unit and replace it, which they did and our room was very comfortable after that. We ate breakfast at the hotel every day and dinner most nights, it was excellent every time. We had lunch off site most of the time while walking on beach but one day we bought fresh fish from a fisherman who brings his fish to the hotel for people to buy but you have to be fast because the staff and locals buy it as fast as they can. The bartender Charles helped pick out several good fish and for a tip he had the chef cook it up for us, it was delicious. A local vendor was up and down the beach offering rides on his glass bottom boat, he lowered the price and we agreed to go. My husband stopped and asked a staff member if the man was reputable and he said no then called over the security who agreed that it was not in our best interest to go with this man so we cancelled the trip and the security guard, Gibson arranged for a more reputable captain and cut the price for us. We appreciated that they were honest and looking out for our safety. We never saw the housekeeping staff but they did a wonderful job. I enjoyed learning how to do stand up paddle board. I bought a couple of souvenirs on Sunday from the vendor who works there, his name is Donovan and when he returned on Thursday he saw my husband and told him how grateful he was that I bought a few things from him, he then told me the same thing. He said he was able to buy food for his family from the sale. It was nice he remembered me but also that he recognized my husband. From check in to check out we had a marvelous time and would definitely recommend Coco LaPalm.
I have stayed at CoCoLa Palm 2 previous times in September, and had a great experience both times. However, this year I decided to try a new resort - MISTAKE ! After a bad experience with our first hotel, our travel company Negril One Stop was able to quickly secure us a reservation at the last minute and at a great rate at CCLP. The previous stays we were in the older section of the resort, which we really loved. This trip, due to Hurricane Matthew potentially heading to Jamaica, they wanted us to stay in the new section for extra hurricane security. I did not expect to like this new area as much as the older area, but honestly, I really love both areas. The new section is extremely well built, feels new and I like it's close location of all rooms to the beach. I thought I would dislike the more " hotel " feel with halls, but I never heard anything from any neighbors. Our balcony was very large with plenty of room for a table and 2 chairs and 2 loungers. While sitting on our balcony we were able to see the ocean. Since we were on the 3rd floor, and all other buildings are 2 stories, and the way the balconies are built; the balcony gave great privacy. Also, the new building has been built with communal outdoor sitting areas to give guests additional outdoor space. The 3rd floor on the new building has a very nice large public patio ( underused) which offered great area to watch sunsets, layout and to relax. We sat out there to eat several to go meals. While we were there this balcony was used for a wedding reception and it's set up was very nice . The best thing about this trip, and the thing I was most impressed with was the way this resort made it's guests feel secure with Hurricane Matthew approaching. They delivered letters to their guests with their hurricane plan. The resort assured guests ample food would be available to guests if Negril was without power or the area damaged during the hurricane. Also, the new section was built in a way to withstand a hurricane. There is a kitchen in the new building, workers had committed to staying at the resort to provide room service to guests in case no one could leave the building due to weather. All guests, would be located from the old area to the new building if the weather became too severe. Well, Hurricane Matthew ended up being a non issue in Negril. However, during that period where we thought there could be damage, CCLP really gave us a good sense of security. I had to extend my trip due to a cancelled flight due to weather; and CCLP gave me a great rate. Otherwise, great trip, great beach, great security, great room- with nothing negative to say . I think CCLP has the best beachfront , especially if you need shade, of any of the non All inclusive resorts in Negril. Thanks CoCo for a great 3rd stay- you have a great group of employees. Next year I will just save the hassle, and stay at your resort from the start !
