Coco La Palm
- What's Included
A nice resort in Negril, Jamaica. Very accommodating and comfortable - The staff is good, the food as well. The beach was our favorite part of the stay. There is easy access to the street which many little shops/vendors are located along. A lot of activities are also within driving distance of about 20-40 minutes. We visited blue hole mineral spring as well as rick's cafe. The only complaint that we had was that the staff was on and off. Ordering room service at nights for dinner or a snack, different servers were either polite or kind of rushing us. However, the continental breakfast at the dining area in the mornings was spectacular; they offer a large variety of foods and fruit, juices etc here. It was very well done.
This was our 3rd time staying a CCLP. We had a superior room with an ocean view. The room was clean but showing wear and tear. Definitely needs some updating. The beds were not the most comfortable. The pool is amazing. Most days there were only a couple of people in the pool. The employees are amazing. Charles was always there with a smile! Sharlton is great. He always greeted us while gardening. We have always had Erica as our housekeeper and she welcomed us with a hug. This time though we had Marie and kept our room clean and was very good. Arlene went out of her way to help me order a cake for a friend at the last minute. The location on the beach cannot be beat. It is right in the middle of the beach so you can walk to wherever you want. The cocktail party is nice. You used to get more food in the previous years, but the drinks were flowing and music was good.We ate breakfast everyday and lunch one day at the beach grill. Food was always good. The downside - THE CATS! There were cats all over our patio. The cats pooped on our chair cushions and slept on the mat outside our door. One of the gardeners found cat food that had been put in our bushes. When you have someone that is allergic to cats this is a big deal. There were 4 kittens and 2 adult cats that stayed near us and many more roaming the property. I do not blame the hotel completely because I saw guests giving food to the cats. I love the employees and the hotel but after our cat issues I am considering staying somewhere else next time.
We loved CocoLaPalm. The staff are amazing, the food phenomenal, and the beach is perfect. Our housekeeper, Erica, was awesome, and the security guard Andrew answered my 101 questions about the beach and variety of marine life I found without batting an eye. Two bars, food is served til 10 pm, and the coffee is superb. Also, you must try the roast fish (snapper) in foil, steamed with coconut milk. Perfection! I would come back in a heartbeat.
CocoLaPalm apartments are in a magical and lush garden. The place has got a direct access to a beautiful beach. The pros: beauty of the property, cleanliness, good service, safety, great food, wi-fi access, location in the middle of the Seven - Mile Beach, paddleboards available on the beach. The cons: the pools should be better cleaned, the fruits served during breakast should be fresh and crispy, not kept in the fridge. I am a Pole and a budget traveller and I do not accept being treated worse when I don' tip, but here you don't tip, you are like a worse category of a tourist.
We always feel like we're returning home when we arrive. Stayed in rm 730. Very nice ocean view with balcony. Housekeeping is great. Security on the beach is top notch. The older security guard has been there for years and takes his job very seriously. No one is going to bother the guests. Dave in the lunch bar is always smiling. And Charles is always eager to do whatever is necessary to make your day. Highly recommend.
