- What's Included
My fourth trip to Jamaica. Havent been in over twenty years so I didn't know what to expect. First stayed at Sandals all inclusive 28 years ago, then Negril Beach Club two times after that. I checked out lots of places on the internet before settling on this place. Glad I did. The cottages are charming and very comfortable. Ours was right at the beach. House keeping came very day and did a great job. The quaint little beach (about 150 feet wide) was always well maintained and guarded. Nice beach lounges and umbrellas. The staff was very friendly. The beach bar is open till 10 every night and was delightful. A great place to meet other travelers and to enjoy the beach. The restaurant provides free breakfast every morning which was GOOD. We also ate several dinners there which were also very good and moderately priced. Nice pool as well. No other amenities however. Seemed as if they may have had an exercise building but it was "out of service" . Our stay was quiet and very relaxing. The only thing that could have been better has nothing to do with the hotel itself. There are a handful of other places you can easily walk to for food and drink, but not that many. walking to the right are mostly all inclusives so you cant visit their bars and restaurants. To the left is Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, which is that in name only. Yet there are some other places down to the left that were fun. We never heard one live band the whole week we were at the property. We did take a day trip around the island and a few up to the cliffs for shopping and dining. That said, I would recommend Country Country to those wanting a restful laid back vacation. Personally I would stay there again. My only regret is that I didn't know how to tip the staff as everything went to my room charge and we left out at 4am.
Thank you for the absolute amazing time. From our super late arrival on Saturday night, we had phenomenal service and it didn’t stop until we left. We stayed in room 519 from May 20 to May 28. Our rooms were very clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We met a few of your staff members including Reneka, Lamonias, Thomas, Andre, Eulane, Jason, Hyacinth and many more names that I don’t recall. I do remember that Reneka assisted me with preparing a dessert for my wife, Reena’s birthday which she truly enjoyed. The Special Jamaican breakfast was delicious and we had it every morning along with some delicious coffee and pineapple juice. Lamonias and another young lady, were able to prepare my meal as a take-to-the-room dish on days we choose to ate in our room. The resort was well-maintained throughout our stay and I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff was. The room was in good condition and clean as well as the beach was beautiful to sit and enjoyed. They need to play more reggae music throughout the resort. You could put-on a local radio station so visitors can further enjoy the local flavours. I will definitely be returning to Jamaica in the near future. I will be looking at Country Country as a possible resort for my stay. My experience with the service received made it difficult for my wife and I to leave.
Hotel grounds and room were lovely, comfortable and inviting. An upstairs lounge was a great place to wait for the rain to pass (May is a rainy month!). Breakfast was terrible and the hotel staff was mostly indifferent. (E.g. Once beach towels were taken in the am you'd be hard pressed to get one despite asking multiple times. Tables weren't cleared and wiped down, some security guards talked so loudly with friends as to be disruptive and none did anything to discourage vendors from constantly bothering guests.) Margaritaville was constantly pumping music two doors down as was Tree House next door. So despite peaceful grounds the trip was not quiet. Suggestion for management - get a new breakfast chef, make sure you have what's on the menu (they were out of cereal all week), and find a way to motivate your staff to serve your guests better and more professionally. While you can't do anything about Margaritaville, you can turn down the volume of the hotel music played all day long so that guests can choose to listen to their own tunes or lie at the beach in peaceful quietude.
We just completed a 5 day stay at Country Country & were overall very pleased. Located off busy street, it's a delightful little haven on 7 Mile Beach. The pictures on their website don't do it justice! Very cute little bungalow style and 2-3 story style buildings. Considering how close the buildings are, you really don't hear very much! We stayed in Unit 544 which had one of the best views of the ocean. It is a lock-off unit so you do hear some noise from the other room if they are in that area. I love how all of the units have some type of private outdoor space/porch. The little pathways between the units are also adorable! Each unit also has it's own little wading bucket to wash sand off your feet - definitely take advantage of it - the sand gets everywhere! The pool is small but nice and it's tucked in amongst the units and right near the restaurant with an outdoor shower and private M/W baths. They are doing some construction on a few of the units but even then, it was quiet and we never heard any noise. Restaurant: Overall good food. The breakfast menu is simple but great and we loved the authentic Jamaican breakfast. Breakfast is included which is a nice bonus. We also had a private dinner party and the dinner menu was fantastic and tasty. The only downside to the Dining experience is that the service can be very slow. Don't go if you are in a rush - plus it's a lovely little spot with views of the beach. I give the restaurant 4 stars but the hotel overall 5 starsBar - Loved the staff and the drinks! And the fruit drinks weren't too sweet - very fresh. Everything closes down fairly early, though so don't expect a late night.Beach Area - Plenty of seating and there is a staff member on site to make sure that anyone selling items on the beach didn't bother you. Not that they were bothersome overall. The funniest experience was when I was walking fast on the beach to go meet someone and at least 3 random locals hollered out "slow down, enjoy!!" :)Parking - they have a small parking lot which can get crowded if the place is full but it was easy to pull in off the street.Wifi is iffy, especially in the lower rooms. There is a nice & roomy area above the restaurant that's used as a Wifi Lounge. If you can get the wifi to work, it's a great spot. The staff were all very delightful - from the front desk, room staff and bar! I got frequent hugs from several of them - they enjoy friendly visitors! (Monique and Super were lovely!)
Booked a Premium room thinking the rooms were larger and able to accommodate the 3 of us more comfortably for 3 nights. We came to find out from a not so friendly front desk lady that the "Premium" rooms don't refer to the size, but to the proximity to the beach. Also we got a premium room downstairs, and while these lovely wooden country cottages are cute, quaint and a fantastic nod to British colonial architecture, being under the wooden floors with the people above moving furniture, walking heavy footed, and just generally "being" right above, was annoying on the times that we were in the room. Breakfast was good and the beach was clean and nice. I've always liked this property, I just hope they correct the customer service issues.
