We booked Country Country for one night as an add-on to our previously scheduled trip. We wanted to try something smaller and less busy. We set our expectations low and figured it would only be one day. Well, this little resort certainly set me straight. What a welcome surprise!!!After a quick, easy check-in with Sharene, we were guided through the lovely grounds to our room and it was perfect! This premium room was so cute and a terrific size for us - not too big, not too small - with rustic furnishings and spotlessly clean. We had plenty of towels and cool A/C. Our private patio view of the beach was gorgeous. The pool was just off the beach in a secluded, quiet garden area. The beach area was beautiful with comfortable beach charts and umbrellas for shade. George, with security, was awesome and we always felt safe. The bar tenders, especially Andre, and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was filling and delicious (eggs, bacon, callaloo, fruit, juice, coffee). Lunch and dinner options were good and decently priced both at the resort and at Negril Tree House next door. Our out-of-pocket for 2 beers, 3 rum and cokes, 2 sodas, 2 bottled waters, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners was about $120.I have only two areas I would suggest for improvement:Wifi is spotty unless you're close the wifi lounge or on the beach.Every soda and rum/soda I ordered was flat. Before arriving at Country Country, I thought this would be a one-and-done kinda thing, but now Country Country is definitely on my list to re-visit. This place is beautiful and a fantastic value for the price. Next time I think I'll stop at the HiLo and pick up some rum, soda, beer, and water to keep in the mini-fridge. The resort had beers for $4+ and rum drinks for $7+. I think picking up some of our own stuff could help us control daily expenses. The staff is AWESOME!!! Check-in staff - awesome! Bellhops - awesome! Waitstaff - awesome! Groundskeepers - awesome! Security - awesome! I only named a few people, but there were ALL so friendly and welcoming!Totally recommend this place. So glad we found it and took a chance. Can't wait to return.**Thank you everybody at Country Country!!!!!!**
We stayed 3 nights at Country Country Beach Cottages. We were in room 515, which was right around the corner from the bar. Since the hotel wasn't full, we were never bothered by noise from the bar or restaurant. The cottage was spacious, with a king bed with bamboo posts, a couch and a couple of chairs in the room (one was a rocking chair), a small fridge, coffee maker, TV, A/C, phone, and a ceiling fan. On the wrap-around porch were a table (with tablecloth) with 3 chairs, 2 adirondack chairs, and a footbath to wash the sand off your feet. There were 2 doors to the room - the regular door, which locked automatically, and needed a key, and a patio door, which only opened from the inside. There were no screens on the windows, but the louvers closed completely. There was a safe in the closet, which used a key, and was a bit awkward to use, as it was low, and didn't get much light. We could use the WiFi in our room, as it was close to the restaurant and bar, but wasn't great. Our friends said the WiFi in room 516 was very good, as it was close to the restaurant. But there is a big lounge above the restaurant, where WiFi is available, and which has many wall outlets for charging up any devices you have. The beach was nice, with a decent amount of shade (both trees and umbrellas), and of course 7-mile beach is great for swimming. The beach was raked every day. The pool was nice, with 2 levels - one was an infinity style, multiple depths, and cool water, in addition to the chairs and lounges around it. Beach towels are provided by the hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant one night, and the food was good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was free, but they did charge for our Jamaican friends 3-year old girl, as she had a children's size portion, with things not on the menu. Breakfast entrees were all good. There was a flat area between the restaurant and the beach which had low flying bees moving around over it in the morning. They didn't bother anyone, and were interesting to watch.Only had a couple of drinks at the bar, as we had brought our own drinks. It was amazing how many catamarans stopped at Margaritaville (several places down the beach) around sunset. Their music could be heard on the beach in front of Country Country. Country Country is between Crystal Waters and Negril Tree House, if you're looking at a map of Negril. We had 2 problems during our stay, both of which we didn't pursue with management -- we couldn't get the TV to work, the one time we tried it; and the toilet handle needed lots of jiggling to stop the run-on flush. We would stay here again.
I didn't stay at Country Country, but dropped in for breakfast after reading about it on a few review sites. The banana pancakes were a hot topic so I ordered them. Delicious!! 3 fluffy pancakes with fresh banana inside, side of bacon and maple syrup with a pot of coffee with milk and a juice. All this with a beautiful view of 7 mile beach and good security so no hassle from hawkers. I enjoyed it so much I'm going back tomorrow to try the Jamaican breakfast. The cottages did look nice when I passed them on my way out but didn't see inside.
I had the pleasure of not only booking rooms at Country Country, but also working with Gabi and Monique on planning our wedding there. They were both a pleasure to correspond with. We did a lot of research when choosing our dream wedding location and felt that the Country Country cottages were the best fit. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans for unforeseen reasons. They gave us a full refund for our wedding package deposit and were very understanding. We are very grateful, as they did not have to do this. We cannot wait to travel there in the future and hope to celebrate many wedding anniversaries there.
If you are looking for a completely different type of resort you may like this option. Its has treehouse/cabin type rooms. Nothing fancy. We toured this resort as agents. I thought it was very cool. It would be a very relaxing holiday. This is a more intimate resort. Everything you need.
