Fun Holiday Beach Resort

- All Inclusive Features
OverviewFun Holiday Beach Resort is ideally located on Negril's world famous seven mile beach and near to shopping, golf and more.
If you want to experience Jamaica, but have limited funds, this might be the place for you. Rooms are plain. Drink offerings are minimal. Food choices are limited. You get what you pay for. But the place has an incredible location. The occasional food vendors along the beach give you many choices for alternative food away from this resort. And within walking distance are some shops that you can purchase your own beverage mixings if you desire.
Just bad.Food crappie best goes to staff.Draft beer gives headaches and bar shuts down at 10pm.First few drinks are good rum after your drunk out comes the crap.Beach hustlers on property and allowed to get in your face all day and night makes guests afraid to leave complex.Workers are Friendly and make due.Low end accommodations, dated. You get what you pay for just be extra safe while staying.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days when we wanted to feel the warm sun in the middle of winter. We typically don't stay on resort very much and we found this location perfect for wandering around! It is a short taxi ride into the city centre of Negril. This is not a 5 star resort, please do not go expecting this and look down on it because you will be disappointed, and that's not really fair. The staff really does a fantastic job - I must say that! We have stayed at similar resorts with staff that is not as accommodating or attentive and with very limited food selections. Fun Holiday does not have a huge selection of food, but you will definitely have options. The security also does a great job at making you feel safe. There is a guard on the beach that keeps people from approaching you. There is a gentleman at the front that monitors who comes in and out. I felt safe at all times. The people we met here really made our trip and overall this was probably our best trip to Jamaica so far! The pool was great, the beach was clean, the entertainment was fun and the drinks were cold. If you are adventurous and would like to go into Negril to do some shopping on your own, which you should try, walk outside the gate, cross the street and wait on the road for a taxi with a red license plate. Take it to the end of his run (which will be the roundabout) and get out there. This will cost you $200 JMD per person. Do not ask how much it costs! Just give them the money.. if you ask, they know you don't know the price and will try to rip you off. In fact, a guy from inside the resort parking lot offered to take us there for $20 USD.... disgusting! Go to the Chinese shop and grab a few things... it the cheapest shop in Negril. Janet braids hair on the beach and also gives really good massages! Definitely check her out. Overall our stay here was great. If you are planning on coming here, please remember to manage your expectations and know that the staff here really does work very hard. Tips do go a very long way.
Stayed for New Years 12/28/16-1/3/17. This was our fourth visit. I had rolled BOTH my ankles on the beach the first day I got there (not on their premises). I was hobbling around doing the best I could. Keon (sic), a maintenance worker, had secured part of a tree branch and cut it down to make a walking stick. The next day, the hotel was able to come up with a loaner cane to help me get around. The hotel could use several upgrades insofar as the quality of the rooms. However, they are generally clean. This is not a five-star super-inclusive. It is an economical option for room and board while experiencing the REAL Jamaica. Steve appears to be running the place pretty well. The food was good. I have noticed that the buffet trays are not as empty late into meal sessions. The pool is pretty large. The lining shows some staining, but the pool is not filthy. The Jacuzzi portion was pretty hot, and that was a godsend for my ankle. Country works pretty hard entertaining the guests. The New Years Celebration was pretty good. They had a rocking reggae band, and the fireworks from Alfred's at midnight were awesome! The upper Ocean View suites are the best, but it might not be a good idea to sit out there between 1-4 pm, as the sun can get pretty hot. The beach can run out of chairs, but there is staff that will ask you if you want one if they find you on a towel (my wife actually preferred to lie on a towel on the beach, and she was asked at least twice if she wanted a chair). The staff is very attentive. Vennie, Yoshi, and Gary do a great job at the bar. Security does a pretty good job at keeping the beggy-beggy at bay. Liquor options can be thin on all plans, but I found that you can get more premium stuff for extra cash. Nevertheless, I think that enough alcohol will be made available without the premium option. If you are looking for a decent room, are not into the upscale amenities of the super-inclusives, and can do without the pillow mints and rose petals, Fun Holiday will provide an enjoyable home base for your Jamaican adventure!
