Our OpinionA beautiful resort at one end of a cove with a long sandy beach. Grand Lido Negril is a quiet resort with great food including excellent a la carte restaurants. Lovely pools including a clothing optional pool and beach area.
Such a beautiful resort; minus the unfinished construction being done. The rooms look exactly like the photos, luxurious. This resort gets 5 stars for the staffs outstanding customer service they provide. I was greeted my first day at lunch by Conrad Baddel, who introduced himself as the general manager of the Resort and asked, how was my stay so far. He is such a nice GM who's hands on as well as always walking around checking up on his staffs and greeting guests. The pool bar girls are AWESOME! Bridgette made me and my girlfriends her special cocktail drink that we all fell in love with. Her and the other women bartenders kept us entertained with laughs and smiles the entire time while sitting at the bar; alongside of them all was the handsome smiling gentleman DJ Smart who kept the pool bar live; playing nothing but the best Reggae music. Last but not least, My favorite guest services representative, Britannia. Oh how adorable, pleasant, helpful, and respectful this young lady is. She provided OUTSTANDING GREAT customer service throughout my whole stay. Any problems I had, she got to it without a reminder nor forgetting about me. She greeted me from the time I arrived, and made sure to be present during my departure:) I will DEFINITELY be returning back to vacation at this resort again and looking forward to seeing Britannia. She's a Gem! FYI: After checking in, be sure to ask for Britannia to accommodate you with any problems or needs you may have. Whatever she can't accommodate you for, she's sure to leave you satisfied with the alternatives:)
We're back from a great stay. We stayed from April 9-16. I should start by saying there are some glitches still as the resort is still under construction and not fully complete. We, however, were aware that was going to be the case since the resort was only a week old when we were arriving. But even with the little things, we had an amazing time.We arrived in the early afternoon and were met with a beautiful lobby. That view was stunning! Once getting checked in, we were shown to the buffet for lunch while final preparations were made for our room to be ready for us. Once getting to our room we were pleasantly surprised with how nice and clean the room was and everything was in working order. Our housekeeper Patricia was so nice and always made sure our room was clean and had everything we needed. She was fantastic! The location of this resort is great. The beaches are beautiful and the water is so clear and warm with Plenty of room to sit and relax by the water. And so clean, no seaweed! The sunset at the end past the hideaway side (near Gran Lido) was perfect! Definitely on par with the world famous Rick's cafe sunset. The staff is so great here. Always working to accommodate your needs and get to know you. The entertainment staff were a lot of fun. So friendly! Janice, Shanice, Christopher, Doblin and Brittany were a few who really stood out. Not only did they work to try to keep the adults entertained, the kids around the resort seemed to love them. The bartenders at the pool bar were fun and helpful. Cleon was always there to make sure our drinks were refilled quickly. Lorenzo at the bar by the stage was also very friendly and helpful and remembered my drink order everytime. The restaurants were nice but they still need work. The food itself everywhere tasted great but there were a lot of inconsistencies day to day and the a la carte restaurants had a lot of menu items missing. Portion sizes were small so sometimes left you wanting more. The buffet was alright. The fresh pasta bar was tasty, but always had a very long line and slow service to get a pasta made. Other areas were slow to get refilled or just ran out a lot. We hope with a little time this gets organized and worked out. Calypso was our favourite restaurant. The food was really good and I liked that the manager was always out checking on tables and making sure the guests were taken care of. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to see how the gardens and landscaping comes along with time. And once everything is established and completed we are sure that all the glitches will be worked out. It was great just to see how much was getting done just the week we were there. Can only get better. All in all great people, great location, great place!
Arrived at the resort at 3:15 pm on Good Friday April 14, 2017, there was a lot of confusion as to what the procedure was for checking in. We were told that the Bell staff would assist in taking out the bags and arranging the parking, however they were not prepared for the 5 or 6 cars that came at the same time. It took quite sometime for the bags and the parking to be arranged. There was no parking at the main building, we were taken to park our cars on the Hideaway side. The check in process was a little difficult...there was enough staff but they were not well trained, at the end of the day, the challenge was that the room was not ready and they had no idea when it would be. They also were not very clear on the amenities and the location of said amenities. Here are some of the pros/cons of this new resort. - Hotel is quite large and nicely finished. (Other than the fact that the construction dust etc was still very evident)- Room was not ready until after 6pm. Once we got to the room, it was fabulous. nicely decorated and comfortable. - Lunch at Score the sports bar was cold (staff insists more heating lamps are needed)- Lots of work still being done at the resort, they could have waited a couple more weeks before they opened.- Long wait at restaurants, plates and glasses would run out for breakfast at the Marche. They were not prepared for the crowd for the holiday. I am going to assume because it was the long weekend, this is the most guests that they have had so far. -- Calypso had the best food overall.- There is a lot of staff from Sandals White house which is a plus, they are well trained and very efficient. The martini bar well staffed and functions well.- The beach is great (after all its Negril). More wait staff needed for the beach/bar. Christina was excellent, just required some more help !!!- No night life....the 'disco' inside the 'sports bar' left more to be desired.I would return to the resort once it becomes a well oiled machine !!!
We booked this trip last minute for springbreak. The pictures looked exactly like the resort...beautiful at least the sections that were done. Still lots of construction going on. We booked a Luxury Family Suite Ocean View in the Diamond Club. The suite was lovely a bit of a walk from the main building none the less breath taking views. Our package came with a "Jr. Butler" a young man whom we met upon our arrival and we saw him around the campus and he would wave.Oh...we saw him when leaving, he was waiting on his tip for collecting the luggage. We Could never really reach him on the phone. We did ask him to make our reservations for a restaurant. I decided to check with the Diamond club to see if the reservations had been made...nope so I did it myself. Upon reaching the restaurant myself and 3 other families who shared the same butler, arrived and found they had no reservation (yikes). Although we had reserved seating the meal still took about 1 hr or so to come out whatever they had not run out of. It was very tasty though. The staff is very kind and appeared to work hard (except the butler). Anyway, the beach is absolutely gorgeous. My complaint, the family section is located right next to a nude beach "Couples Resort",clothing optional section . Only separated by a rope, my children were able to watch the parade of naked people going in and out of the water. I had no words. On the other side was Hedonism 2 however, it's pretty hidden. So this beautiful family friendly resort is sandwiched between two clothing optional beaches. A heads up should be given to consumers at least with children. After day 3, the sewer system backed up in our room and was unable to be fixed. We were moved to a room in a "nice building" but the room was a downgrade. We spoke to several people in management about the fact that there was a price difference and we should be reimbursed the difference. No one seemed to know what to do. Finally, Maxine, gave me a copy of a letter that she sent to Bookit.com asking for the reimbursement. That's a whole different review (Bookit.com) bookit.never again! The spa is nice has great potential but neither the steam rooms or the relaxation room were ready. It was not very relaxing hearing the drills and hammers going during my treatment. But Carole and Melissa were Awesome! I would like to be reimbursed for my room category change...that suite was not cheap and the run around was not appreciated at all. I would give the resort another chance in a year or two when my kids are in high school and if they make things right with my room category.
My day was terrible but it got better....room was beautiful and clean but got issues...was expected tho as its still under construction right😀the staff friendly and well mannered...the FOOD is gooooddd..entertainment after 8 aint so much the bartenders did a great job👍must say i will b back for summer ....make sure i get pillows on time!!!!must shout out to the room attendants that kept my room clean miss stacey who is always 😃 n miss nicole...thank you ladies...ROYALTON NEGRIL 👍👍👍
