Our OpinionIf you are looking for the "lively" vacation that Hedonism resorts are all about, then Hedonism II is the place. A lot of visitors here are repeat clientele.
I was pleasantly surprised by this vacation resort. I had not been to a clothing optional resort before and was nervous. It was actually fun. But I was most impressed with the service provided. The staff was always smiling and ready to provide. My husband loved that the omelette cook remembered him after the first day, as did many of the folks. We will be going back for sure. The rooms are being upgraded and are very nice. We had an old room and found it very pleasant. The bathroom was dated, but functional. Besides we didn't go to Hedo to spend our time in our room. If you are thinking about going, try it....
This was our 4th visit to Hedo 2. Since 2014, we have observed a continuous improvement in the resort. The management team have put a lot of effort into renovating the "public areas" and to a lesser degree the rooms. Our last visit, prior to this week was during the major renovation of the Main Building (Dining Room, Stage Area, Main Pool on the Prude side). We thought that they did a great job. They have also significantly improved the Nude Grill and the Prude Grill. The rooms are probably the weakest component of the resort, but in truth there is not a lot that they can reasonably do to improve them, beyond what they have done so far. Everything in the room worked, was clean and the folks who clean the room through the week did an excellent job. We always book a Prude room and this time we were given an upgrade to Nude Ocean View which was a very nice surprise. There was some major renovations going on in guest rooms on the prude side. They are certainly working hard, however it would be a challenge to make the bathrooms bigger or adding balconies, for example, without knocking down the current buildings and starting over. For us the room is a place to store our stuff, and sleep, and the room we had this trip was all we needed.Food generally was very good. Pastafari and Flame, two of the restaurants, were excellent and the daytime food at the Prude and Nude Grills was excellent. The midnight pizza at the Nude Grill is worth the trip itself.Breakfast in the dining room for us was the meal that we thought was the weakest. I think that since the dining room was renovated there are fewer "hot food stations" and as a result less selection. It just seemed that breakfast, for us, was the meal that suffered. The Omelet Station, as always was excellent, however some mornings you don't want to start your day by standing in line. The only other egg offering the week we were there was boiled eggs. The bars all have premium drinks and service at the bars was pretty much excellent all week.May and June is supposed to be the rainy season, however the weather the week we were there was great. They have continued to clean up the beaches and have removed a number of trees or branches. The beaches are kept very clean. The Prude Beach is in fact the nicer of the two, and is actually clothing optional. The Nude Beach is nude mandatory, although enforcing this seemed to be hit and miss. Another thing that was hit and miss was security team's management of the use of electronic devices (with camera built in) in the area of the nude pool and beach. We saw a couple being used. Now the person might have been reading, however they could have just as easily been recording, there is no way of knowing. The resort has signs that clearly state that cameras are not allowed, they just have to enforce it.Scuba Diving is included and on-site, which for a diver is a really nice perk. The dive team is better than excellent. Very safety focused and absolutely do everything to make your dive great. They don't just lead you in an underwater parade. They find things for you to see, that the average diver would probably miss. They are also very skilled in solving little problems that might have a negative impact on your dive. I always look forward to diving with this team.Evening entertainment is good to very good. The Piano Bar is fun a couple times a week. The Foam Party is a blast. Disco is ok, however just too loud for our liking. The evening stage shows have changed a little since Winston took over, however are pretty much the same. The house band and entertainment that they bring in is all very good. And while in trips gone by, the volume could get too loud to have a dinner conversation, they seem to have resolved that. The best part of a week at Hedonism 2 is how respectful and disciplined everyone is. No means no. Everyone respects others personal space. I think this is because the management team has built a no nonsense policy that everyone knows exists. If you break the rules regarding respecting other guests, your out, and I think that is as it should be. Keeping this in mind, if a guest was thinking that they would like to scuba dive, snorkel or do some other activity and their spouse was not inclined to join them. What we do is, my spouse takes a book and finds a place on the Prude beach near the wharf where the dive boat ties up. She feels completely safe because there is a security guard near the wharf and the Water Sports guys are always around keeping an eye on the boats and such.On check-out day we had a later afternoon flight and that morning I approached the front desk about a later check-out time so that we could leave things in our room and shower just prior to our leaving. This would allow us to enjoy much more of the last day. The young lady was extremely helpful and made it happen right away. A perfect end to a perfect stay.
We returned from our second trip to Hedo and had another excellent stay. Since my last review titled “OMG we love Hedo” seemed to have set a record for the most helpful votes (33 to date) I figured I would also review our second visit to Hedo. The main purpose of our trip was to attend the Tantric Hearts workshops, and boy did Kim and Brad deliver. We attended all six workshops and learned a lot about Tantra from them. My wife and I truly enjoy plugging into the sexually charged Hedo environment. We love the Theme nights and bring an entire suitcase of clothes for them. This being our second time around there was no delay in getting to the nude side! Let me continue by breaking down our experience into categories.Day activities:The scuba was awesome. The coral was so much more alive versus the north coast of Jamaica. Having scuba included is a nice cost savings. We enjoyed sailing the small catamaran and were fortunate to get some good wind which can be rare in Negril. We loved playing tennis and Garfield really delivered in teaching us newbies how to hit the ball. Food and beverage:The food was outstanding, fresh, and delicious. We ate at the buffet, the Japanese, and the Italian restaurant. The choices were ample and all were tasty. My wife has a food allergy to gluten, wheat, and soy, and WOW did the chefs meet that challenge. If you have allergies to food rest assured this resort will accommodate you. The booze was top shelf, plentiful and service was quick and with a smile. The beach:The beach is beautiful! Being able to take a stroll on the long beach outside of the resort was wonderful. This is not the case with most beaches in Jamaica outside of Negril where the beach typically does not extend beyond the resort area. The Staff:The staff at Hedo is awesome. Austin the Omelet guy delivered great food with his fun personality. Damian of the water sports was always a delight to chat with. Orlando in the dining room was always looking out for us. Always fast to refill the H2O. Everywhere you turn is a happy and helpful staff member.Entertainment:There is always something going on at Hedo. And the shows as typical were awesome. Fetish night is our favorite. We had a chance to visit the Piano bar this time and LOVED it! We loved the Hedo dirty words substituted in the Song “Sweet Carolina” The layout of the hotel:Having frequented many resorts, we are very impressed with the layout of the resort. It feels big and airy yet everything is within a two-minute walk. Whoever designed the layout of this resort is brilliant. For example, the overhead walkway from the upper dining/entertainment area to the beach is so convenient. The social aspect:My wife and I get along with people easily. We often initiated conversations with people of all ages. We met many fun people there. And we enjoy the “kinky talk” with others. Where else can you talk about sexual fantasies and other fun topics like orgasms with people you just met? This is not the sex education class they teach in high school! The Sex:Now onto the part everyone is curious about. We did see a few PDA’s during the day but it was not everywhere. We visited the playroom each night around 1 am. Some nights it was full, other nights only a few people. A hint is to use the beds away from the hallway since sometimes there is talking in the hallway. We prefer the open room with the waterfall and the stars overhead versus the dungeon room. We saw a new building under construction and heard some of it will be for a new playroom! Being into light BDSM it was nice to see some new things in the dungeon like the cross and the spanking bench. You need to bring your own toys such as floggers and paddles. We saw a hook for a sex swing but no swing was there, bummer as I am sure it would get lots of use. We hope to see one there for our trip in December. The nude hot tub gets cranking up after 1 pm with lots of fun activities between couples to be had. Since my wife does not like to be the “first one on the dance floor” the other people playing (along with some liquid courage for her) gets her into that playful mood. On our late nights, we like our last playtime at the nude hot tub. In closing, no good review would be without some dislikes or critiques. As far as the playroom it would be better if it opened earlier, say 10 pm. The disco is WAY too loud! The room had some minor issues but nothing major. We don’t go to Hedo for the rooms! We go for the atmosphere and the people. We love the no pressure environment where you can do as little or as much as you desire. This is a true adult playground. If you just want to relax that’s easy to do. If you want to go full out, there are lots of activities to engage in. Often, before we knew it, the clock was 3 or 4 am! The sexual energy between us was recharged once again thanks to Hedo. Hedo has a residual effect, even after you leave the memories last and some of that energy takes a while to subside. See you in December!
It was our first time visiting Hedonism II, by comparison to other venues we've visited across Europe Hedo by far had the worst standard of accommodation for the amount of money paid. It sells its self on luxury accommodation, from our experience the accommodation was more akin to a motel, rather than a luxury hotel. An example of this was the sheer standard of the room it was something dating back to the 80's, the shower wasn't a shower, but a trickle of water, even after it was meant to be fixed, and the safe just didn't work - others also complained of similar problems. We raised these issues twice with the front desk and we only heard back from them on the morning of our departure. Last comment, free internet service, which just doesn't work, again raising this with the front desk.
Good food, some staff were ok but generally waitress staff were indifferent and rarely smiled. Housekeeer was excellent. Entertainment was mediocre at best. Most people used the nude pool whilst the prude pool which was much larger was under-utilised. Nude and prude areas should be swapped around. Not value for money. Desire pearl in Cancun is much better
