1 star at best

The staff and food were great but the accommodations are not up to standards. After a late arrival (9:30) we were given a room across the busy highway and told the restaurant was done for the evening and would have to eat else where. The room was very noisy with road noise, horns and squeaky fan all night and the rancid smell of garbage from the over flowing dumpsters at the entrance (have to hold you nose every time you come or go through the entrance) Talked to front desk in the morning and they moved us to a quieter room but would move us to the beach side of the highway even though the resort was almost empty. No wifi at all even though we were told every day it would be fixed tomorrow.Resort and pools are very old and in need of a major upgrade.

So want to return!!!

The Legends reviewMy girlfriend and I just spent the last week at the Legends resort in Negril, Jamaica. When we got there, in the evening, it was pouring and felt gloomy, so not really the best way to start a trip and when we entered our room, there were lights, but not many, so the room was kinda dark. Not bad though! And I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of our room too! I was offered some ganja numerous times before we even got to our room. So finding ganja was not a problem at all! I'd wait till you are at the resort to buy any. Once we got there I had no problems finding some. I was really looking forward to that part of our trip!😌First response I got about getting some:He said "ya mon, of course" He then asked me if I wanted ANYTHING else, so if you're looking for some blow or anything else besides some ganja, you'd probably have no trouble finding!I just got some ganja because I'm kind of a pot head! Anyways, the ganja he got us had sticks & seeds, but man, was it good! It wasn't the same kind of ganja I usually get or can get, but was VERY GOOD GANJA MON! A lot of what you get down there is still on the stem. And jeez,is it ever cheap, or inexpensive. Definitely not cheap weed!Next day, we planned out many excursions, to fill up our time while there! One excursion was cancelled because it was going out on a boat and the weather was looking iffy. We got a refund for that, so was no problem. The food at Legends resort was amazing! Wasn't all that pretty looking, but was it ever tasty! Was a small buffet style layout. I think they do have a menu, but was happy with grabbing my plate of Ackee and sausage one day, from the buffet (they have different foods there each day) and taking to a table & enjoying it by the beach. It was so nice to be able to enjoy eating our meals with a beach front view! All local Jamaicans seemed very friendly & helpful! A little difficult to understand sometimes, but there was "no problem." It did rain almost every day, but it's only rain. And usually only rained for not more than a half hour or hour at a time. That's why everything there is so lush and green! There were several scrawny looking cats roaming around the resort, but they were all very friendly! There were also several dogs & goats roaming the streets too and again they caused no problems. There were two nice birds, a Cockatoo, Buddy & a big parrot, Charlie, in the resort next door. We were able to walk over there one day with no problem and interact a bit with them! That was fun!No problems with any animals or insects, except one evening while we out on an excursion, I was stung by this little black beetle. Got the stinger out, but it's still red and itches and swollen. That was when we went out to see the luminous lagoon. Check that out! Was pretty cool! The ONLY complaint I could have would probably be the hustlers on the street and along the beach! It wasn't that big of a problem, so overall, everything was "Irie" and can't wait to go back!

Love this place...very friendly, happy helpful staff..great for a budget hotel.Rooms are clean,i had the last room on the garden side which was great as you basically have the whole swimming pool that end to yourself, most people use the pool near the bar..Situated in the middle of 7 mile beach gorgeous...good security, gate manned 24hrs and Michael the security guard on the beach ensures that the hustlers pass by and leave you in peace (which is a relief as it's non stop as soon as you reach)...unless you invite them over to buy something.Would recommend to couples, family's or solos.

NICE ROOMS, Friendly Service, The Beach was relaxing and there was plenty of activities to do! i enjoyed the staff who where very familiar with the area. If you are a shopper there are plenty of stores to get that special gift for someone.

Great for budget travellers

Clean room, good food and safe location. Definitely get a beach side room, more quiet and private! If you have kids, please don't stay here. But if you're a couple, solo traveller or a group of friends, I'd recommend this hotel. It has a cosy atmosphere, which makes it easier to strike up a conversation with the other guests. The best night at Legends was Jamaican night when they served Jamaican food and the band performed some reggae songs. Half of the staff were super friendly and provided great service, while the other half wouldn't even smile at you - which was a real pity. We had breakfast included but if I were to come back, I would do all-inclusive or at least half-board because eating out in Jamaica is really expensive. There are one or two roadside stalls near the hotel selling cheap jerk chicken but that's about it. It's seriously expensive everywhere else. Do take the free shuttle bus (tip the driver) to the sister resort, Samsara when you want a different view- so beautiful. All in all, we had a great vacation at Legends. Thank you!
