This is not my first time in jamaica. Stayed for two weeks bed and breakfast. A party of 6 girls on the garden side. It was a budget holiday 3star apartment. I had read the reviews after booking the holiday. The reviews were a little bit off putting. I thought what have I done has I had booked the holiday over the phone with no access the internet. The garden side is across the road from reception and main part of the hotel. Friendly staff walk you across the busy road. Rooms were basic but clean with maids doing there best to keep them tidy. Breakfast we could not complain about there was a variety to suit all, with tea coffee, juice water. The lady making the omlettes was kept very busy as they were very nice. The beach was just beautiful, sunbeds were taken up very quickly by people putting towels on them quite early. We were able to use facilities, sunbeds at tamboo and the bar nxt to it free of charge. Our evening meals were bought from local restaurants within walking distance for local rate. All the staff at legends were very polite and helpful.Negative side to the holiday was the skips with rubbish just as you came out of the garden side of legends, the smell was awful. The rooms were dated as people said but clean. There was no kettle or hairdryer! . The swimming pool on the garden side nobody really used. There was a lot of vegetation and leaves dropping into the pool and a lot of mosquitoes! A budget holiday which worked for me and my friends and I would stay there again. Really enjoyed it.
Legends is amazing. We're just home after 10 days there. It's brilliant. It's so much better than the huge hotels, 50 or so perfectly fine rooms. It's much more personal. We were on the garden side and were offered an upgrade to beach side, even though very grateful, we declined as we were more than happy. Room was lovely, maid service every day. Towels were no problem. Only used the garden side pool once, tad cold as it doesn't get much sun but a lush way to cool down. We went B&B but upgraded to AI for a few days, totally worth it in my opinion, especially for the drinks. Bar closes at 10 but there are plenty of places open to carry on the party.Mikey, brilliant Mikey. He looks after the beach and all the guests. He is out at 7am putting guests out loungers and umbrellas and he leaves at 10pm after it closes. He works his back side off. Buy him a Pepsi every now and again. He keeps some of the traders who are a pain off the beach. Most of the vendors are OK and a polite no thanks tends to do the trick. There are a few local guys outside the hotel, we loved these guys. They are the ones we booked out trips through. Nice people trying to earn a living. You MUST buy your jerk chicken off Fish, he's just to the left as you leave the main hotel entrance. The best jerk and a wonderful man. We Sat with him til 2am one night :) We met some lovely friends and are definitely going again next year. The whole team at this hotel deserve a massive shout out. They are fantastic. Morgan, the guy who works the night shift.... Lovely. Please visit Legends. We can't wait to go back. Keep up the good work :)
Spent one night and two days, when we arrived the room was not ready, as we had the all inclusive option we had lunch, which was good. then we got drinks at the bar and headed to the beach, which is two steps away from the restaurant. The room was basic but spotless.. there is a balcony where you can sit and relax. the drinks are good, dinner was good, breakfast in the morning had plenty options. If you want a quite place with good food and a hotel on the beach, this is the place to be.. I would definitely return!!
If you prefer smaller resorts this is the place to stay. It is a 3 star but the people who work there are 5 star. Very helpful and friendly. We booked the beach side rooms which were closer to the beach, bar and restaurant. Because of the size of this resort, I believe they only have about 50 rooms, there is only 1 bar and 1 restaurant so the location of our room was ideal. The room itself was very clean and comfortable with a large balcony. We enjoyed the food that the cook prepared, there was always something delicious to choose from, and the bar drinks were definitely not watered down. We want to thank Shaney and Shadae who served daily at the bar. They were friendly and funny and did a great job serving everyone at the bar.Negril beach was beautiful. We spent a lot of time swimming in the ocean and talking to people. Because it was low season it was not crowded. Michael, the security guard was always watchful and made sure to keep vendors that were not welcome moving along. We enjoyed our stay at the Legends and would definitely return.
