We went here for the first time ever in Jan for our honeymoon. Even with the on and off rain it was absolutely beautiful! Majority of the week was sunny nd perfect! The drinks flowed, the food was delicious, the spa was amazing - I recommend the Raindrop Dreams massage for 90 mins, best massage ever and I’m a total spa junkie!!! We’ve only been home a week and we are dying to book our next trip!! The staff was friendly and fun. The guests were friendly as well. Food was top notch, views were to die for! Only two complaints were that our bathroom did not have a tub, it was hard using a shower w low pressure all week and I also wish they had done more for our honeymoon, there was really no special treatment for that. Other than those two things everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations!
We are Sandals people. We have stayed at a few of their various resorts, all larger than Negril. It was time for a smaller venue, and we chose Negril. It is very compact, and intimate, with the famous "7 mile beach" ready to be walked( it can wear off brekky, lol). While it is very well manicured, and clean, there are areas that are "tired" and need updating, and this is occurring. All pools and restaurants are close by, which is nice. The people, as with any vacation, are what make your trip, and Sandals Negril is no exception. Check-in was quick, and efficient, and room assignments were prompt. The rooms were very nice and tastefully decorated, and a small issue we had was dealt with quickly. Because of the size of this resort, there is NO NEED for "butler service." REALLY!! The food is very good, with reservations required at a couple of restaurants(the show at the Japanese restaurant is very good). As mentioned, all the staff we can in contact with, were awesome, but a 'special shout out" to BEVERLY at the Loyalty Desk. She was simply AMAZING, sorting out our late afternoon arrival on the night of the "Sandals Dinner." She also dealt with another matter, we had, quickly and professionally. We can't say enough about Beverly. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR TIME!!My wife and I will come back to Negril, and recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller venue. There was nothing we were dissatisfied with.
We spend Christmas at Sandals Negril, the staff were warm & welcoming.Our suite the Millionaire Honeymoon One Bedroom Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary was wonderful. Our own pool, a tropical garden where the doctor bird visited us each day, sun beds, table & chairs and a sofa in our own private domain.The pools are small & noisy but who needs them with the ocean and a wonderful beach out there.The addition of more Tiki huts on the beach would be helpful, the resort was busier after Christmas so other guests were sheltering under ours.This is a very casual laid back resort which is also reflected in the restaurants and the menus offered, we have a preference for the more formal restaurants, Le Toc, Gordons, Butch's nothing of that standard here.Breakfast in the Bayside is good when Katy Ann is the egg station chef, she can cook up to seven orders at once to perfection.The only downside with the Bayside is the egrets continually landing on tables , there was droppings on the corner of our table on the stage nearby and when my husband went to the buffet one landed on his chair also depositing faeces, it must be a health issue, it does put you off your food eating in these conditions.Iain from room service so friendly, we met last year when he was working at the Bistro, Glenville also room service who delivered our order on several occasions is hard working and has excellent people skills, a lovely person.Arrival at the airport & Resort check in was unfortunately the usual fiasco, Sandals airport experience is very poor & it took ages before our bus eventually departed.Check in at the Resort involved another long wait, if you have standard accommodation or concierge it's not too bad but at butler level it's always a long wait as he/she have to finish attending to their often demanding guests before they can eventually collect you from Concierge.On this occasion we also waited in our room a very long time for our bags having landed at lunchtime from JFK it was evening before we were finally able to unpack.Guests are asked on check in if they are celebrating anything during their stay which is pointless because unless you have a butler nothing special happens.The staff taking care of us at Christmas were away from their families but were so welcoming, warm & friendly (well except Cucina Romana).We enjoyed the returning guests dinner the staff, particularly the Loyalty staff were very entertaining it compensated for the food at the Select dinner & lunch was definitely underwhelming but the ambience was good.Our Butlers Neisha and Myron were always available if we needed them, we are however, undemanding so they checked on us a couple of times a day and left an afternoon snack in our room, filled the whirlpool tub & decorated the bed.It was our anniversary during our stay, we were married at Sandals Dunns River many years ago. Myron decorated our room & Neisha brought us some treats.To all the delightful staff thank you for a lovely vacation.
The staff are what makes this place so special-so happy, friendly and always go that extra mile to help.The food is amazing at every restaurant. The drinks are great and the service is amazing.However the decor is totally dated and the rooms are in need of a lick of paint and some new modern furniture.Entertainment was good.I would definitely come back again.
My wife and I recently spent a week here. We had a two story butter suite. Our Butlers were Theda and Basil J. You can't go wrong with these two. Theda has a wonderful laugh that can only make you smile when you hear it. Basil will make you feel like you made the best decision in choosing the Butler Suite. I hope we get them both when we return next year. Louis and Chris are great mixologist. I highly recommend seeking them out when you are there.Mirage at the Bistro is not only a great chef but a pretty good singer as well. We stopped into the gift shop and met a fine young man who is full of energy named Ward. If you want to relax then this is definitely the best place to stay. I truly don't have a negative thing to say about the place. I normally don't like having my picture taken but Martin took some super sunset pictures of the Wife and I. We have already booked again for next year. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to seeing all my friends again.
