The powder-white sand and turquoise water's of Jamaica are awaiting you at the Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa, only steps away from the activity of your choice. But the most awesome feature of all is the beauty of the Negril sun sinking below the horizon to signal the end of another day in paradise.
Location: On Negril's famous 7-mile beach, 10 min drive to the town of Negril, 90 min away from the airport.
We stayed in the Honeymoon Beachfront Two Story One Bedroom Butler Suite. Before I get to the negative, I want to point out some positive points.-THEDA was the best butler experience. She brought us drinks right away, walked us to our reservations we had for dinners, And brought us food while we were at the beach and was always around if we needed her. Request her if you can!!-Jeffrey is one of the Photographers, he took prof photos of us and he was so funny and encouraging while he was taking photos, very professional, and he took some amazing photos!! To start out, we arrive at the resort and we get the butler named BASIL and he rushed through telling us where everything was and rushed us to our rooms. We requested robes to be sent to our room (there should have been robes in the room already) and BASIL said they would arrive in 30 minutes. They didn't get delivered until the next mid morning. The Main Pool area has the music SO loud so my husband had to stay at the beach since it was quieter and more relaxing.Thankfully we had a butler to save us chairs at the beach, but if you didnt have that there is no room on the beach; there are a minimum amount of chairs.BASIL did not check on us often enough, we had to call him 80% of the time to bring us something or make reservations. He didn't really seem like he wanted to help us with anything. Our room had a beautiful view, but was expecting a lot more for the money spent. The food was OK...Did not have much flavor. The Sundowner was the most tastiest food we had on the entire trip. This resort was OK, but not worth the money. Would not go back.
We just recently returned from our stay at SANDALS NEGRIL! Beautiful place, the beach is beautiful and some of the best people I have ever met. Kendra in the bayside restaurant is very sweet!! Overall stay was great! The water is some of the clearest I have seen. I do not believe the trip was worth what we paid. We were originally suppose to go to SANDALS ROYAL BOHEMIAN and three days before trip found out we had to switch. I am glad we picked Negril and not Montegobay. The ride from airport to resort is an excursion in its self. Our room was nice , only complaint was the water pressure was TERRIBLE. The food was good but I wouldn't say great. Restaurants were better than buffet. The Italian restaurant and the beach bistro was great! The drinks are def strong! Their rum is like whisky though. I'm not a big drinker so I stuck to mimosas and pina coladas. :) the firemans put down the beach (notoart of sandals) is delicious!! Best lobster I have had! I enjoyed my stay and loved the hospitality but probably would not go back.
Our stay at Sandals Negril was amazing! The resort is beautiful and kept up very well. From the moment we arrived in Jamaica we felt welcomed. The entire staff was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about us visitors. The check-in was effortless and orientation to the resort was short but thorough. Our two butlers, Gawayne and Orlando, were simply amazing!! Best butlers we could've asked for! They worked together from start to finish to make sure that everything ran smoothly for us and always reminded us that they were only a call away. Much respect. We will definitely be visiting again soon!!
Millionaire private pool suites....There are 5 of these private pool suites, my group got all of them, so here's the run down:8101...Second most private, open inside, beautiful high wood ceilings, thatched gazebo sitting area outside8103... worst (in my opinion) open inside, nothing for shade outside other then an umbrella by the pool bed, things are broke, pool looks smaller then the others, does have beautiful high wood ceilings8102...has small portions of wall inside to separate bed area but still pretty open, probably the worst room for outside privacy, and due to hall lights and others outside lights is the brightest outside space at night, it has a thatched gazebo sitting area8104...Inside has a nice layout very similar to what is shown online, it has a covered patio area (the balcony above is your ceiling) the pool is narrower in the center where the water fall is, and in relation to the pic you see on line, it's how do I explain it...sideways?...meaning from the door (as in the pictures online) you till see the waterfall is in the center of the pool oppose to at the end of the pool as shown online, the beds are just to the left of the waterfall oppose to being at the end of the pool where the waterfall is (as shown line) as far as privacy, I'm sure it has its spots where no one can see, but it doesn't seem very private to me.and 8105 ... best outside space and best inside layout (Inside is what is shown online) Outside it has a covered porch area (the roof is the people above porch floor) with couch and table with chairs ( so there is no pergola or thatched roof cabana because you have this awesome patio area..same goes for 8104), the inside looks like the Sandals site pic where the bed area is more separated...looks kinda rounded. I was asking the butler just how private my pool space is because the balcony above is to the left of the pool area, and the walls are made of slats that are angled. I'm told 8105 is actually the most private room because of how slats are angled on the balcony above us Other then that balcony there is no other spot someone can see you unless they are in your room or in your "back yard".As far as SN itself...I will say that they try their best to fix or take care of any issues you may have. That being said despite all the reviews I seen for it being " the BEST Sandals resort, you won't be sorry, you'll love it" and so on....my entire group dose NOT agree! We will not go back. Our biggest issues: the 2 biggest reasons for me and my husband..1 the peddlers on the beach and in the water literally all day trying to get you to buy stuff, security does a so so job at keeping the "drug" ones on the move, but all the others they don't seem to care to much. 2 (More my issue then my husband lol) the "clothing optional" sexual resort right beside Sandals. If you rent the cabanas you can hear their games, jabs at Sandals, and their sexual events ( which can be entertaining to listen to if you don't mind that kind of humour..my group thought it funny). Thing is there is a gate, you can go over there, they can come over to Sandals (suppose to be covered if they do, and they are, if you think a lace cover up really "covers"...I don't, and water sports...yeah...naked water sports (they share the same beach/water, my husband went paddle boarding and seriously seen people having sex while out on the "Hedo" resort wind sailing boat...if you're fine with all that great, just do yourself a favor first and Google "Hedo" so you get a better idea of what you may see and hear ( think swingers, and pretty much open to anything, and all types of relationships). The rest of my group also didn't like the above (think it bugged me most tho if I'm honest) mostly for them it was how far the restaurants are, that the food was just "eh" other then Kimonos and the Italian place (which were also the fastest service). The slow service is probably top complaint, I should say that this is our 3rd Sandals so we know things are slower on "Jamaica time"...3 hours in and just getting your entrees tho...that's crazy, we didn't even stay for desserts and that seems to be how long service is in general at most of the restaurants (at least for us...maybe it was just bad timing, but if so then it was repeatedly bad timing. It's not like we hated it, I mean we are in Jamaica at an all inclusive Sandals lol...this is just a heads up for others...if you read all this then you will be happy you did (if you like seafood or cliff jumping) the 2 best things about SN for us....Fireman lobster/crab he is one of the people walking the beach who also has also little place you can literally walk to on the beach...THE BEST LOBSTER all of us have ever had! If he's on the beach (make sure the shirt says " Fireman " you tell him what you want (lobster $25ish and giant stone crab? $30-$60 cash only) he goes cooks it, and brings it to you we had ours the day we rented the cabanas...so good!! If not for the price we would have gotten it the entire time, best meal we had in Negril, best lobster we have EVER had. Ricks Cafe...we went on the free catamaran cruise that came with our rooms, it went to Ricks Cafe and we cliff jumped, it's free to jump. Have to swim from your catamaran over to Ricks, then get out of the water and climb the stairs to the one of the 3 different height platforms, we did the highest one, after we caught our breaths from the swim over, and stairs lol..jump as much as you want for free as long as you can swim back and get back on the data in time (if not just get a cab or use the free...I think....shuttle service from Ricks back to Sandals from what I understand it's not that far). Just Google Rico's Cafe Negril if you're interested and want to see everything they offer.
Before my husband and I came to Sandals Negril, We went through every review imaginable to see if it was perfect for us. We wanted to relax, have a little fun in the sun, and be able to enjoy great food and people, That being said this particular resort was perfect. We stayed at Sandals Negril from October 16th until October 20th, and I highly recommend getting the Mobay VIP service to help you fast track getting off your plane, through customs, baggage etc. It can be quite confusing (especially for us because it was our first international trip) and it was super convenient, 20 mins flat from the plane to the shuttle. One thing that threw me off was that the baggage guys were kinda pushy for a tip but once you get to Sandals this isn't an issue because it's a non tip country. The shuttle from the airport was a little crazy because the other drivers would cut us off and the roads were narrow, but it was also nice to see the real parts of Jamaica you never get to see. Arriving at Sandals, we were taken to our room by our butler Shemoy to do the check in process, and the service was phenomenal. Snacks and drinks were provided and he was very professional. We stayed in the Honeymoon Beach front suite and had a great view of the beach/grounds in front. The only downside for us was that the room is backed up against the road so you can hear traffic noise, otherwise I had no complaints. Another downside are the vendors who sneak on the beach to sell you everything from conch shells to weed but a firm no will get them to leave you alone, and security is always right there. Food was great, drinks were plentiful, Shemoy and Basil did a fantastic job checking on us, keeping the surprises coming and helping us out. Everyone on staff had smiling faces, there are so many activities and the beach is so beautiful. I highly recommend the glass bottom boat ride, the candle light dinner, and the pizza place was so good. Thank you Sandals for an amazing vacation we'll be back soon.
