Coming back home.

Another great stay at Sandy Haven Resort in Negril, Jamaica. Truly one of the best hotels on the beach. Quiet and quaint, with the best staff. Totally secure on the best part of 7 mile beach. Always enjoy my stay here and will definitely be returning.

Nice smaller resort

My fiance and I stayed here for 8 days beginning of March - our first stay here. Sandy Haven is a very nice smaller feel resort with top notch service. We had an ocean view room which had a nice patio with a view. The room itself was wood floor, flat screen TV, AC and a very nice double sink bathroom with large shower. The only slight negative was the firmness of the bed - firmer than what we have at home but the bedding and pillows were very comfortable. You don't spend that much time in the room but it was a nice space-very comfortable. Also- I met our housekeeper the first day - I believe her name was Mer - what a friendly woman - she put all her cleaning stuff down that she was carrying up to our room and shook my hand with a big smile and genuinely warmly greeted me to the resort.The highlight of being in Negril is the beach - spectacular - and the other nice feature of this hotel is the tiki bar right on the beach with fabulous bartenders - kudos to all of the staff-Romeo, Keon, Linten, Barbie, Andre - all were great and gave superb service. The food there is fantastic also if you want to eat at the bar. And the security people on the beach kept the vendors away if unwanted even though they weren't harassing in any way. My fiancé also had a couple massages on the property and she said they were the best she ever had.I am trying to think of negatives but really don't have any - I think Sandy Haven is one of the nicer spots on the beach if not the nicest.

Great stay on a lovely beach!

My husband and I recently stayed here for 6 nights and we loved it! This was our 4th stay on 7 Mile and our 1st stay at Sandy Haven. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a sea view, double sinks, large closet and bathroom. The beach area here is very nice and the location is great too! We did not eat at Bongos, but we had breakfast each morning and it was all delicious! The staff was all great! Security, bartenders, maintenance, waitresses and everyone onsite was friendly and helpful when needed. We really enjoyed talking to our cleaning lady, Meryl :) She did a great job and always had a smile on! I know that some people complain about the water, power, wifi, etc going out once in a while, but you'll have that everywhere you visit on the island. At least that's been our experience after 5 trips all over the island. It's Jamaica, not home and these are the issues that come with visiting this amazing island :)

A beautiful beach

We thoroughly enjoyed 10 days at Sandy Have Resort. The beach was perfect, beautiful white sand, turquoise clean water, gentle waves and easy walking. There are enough beach chairs and water toys for everyone to enjoy. We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in and found that our room had been upgraded. We arrived just in time to walk through our ocean front room onto our patio and were treated by a perfect sunset. A magical moment. The staff were friendly and helpful. The security staff made sure that we were safe and not bothered by beach vendors or any others that didn't belong on the property. Sinclair made a special effort to talk to us and make sure that we were happy, she made sure we knew we could come to her if we needed any help. She also came to say goodbye to us and gave us a big hug as a send off.

Not a good choice if you want a great honeymoon

This is marketed as a luxury resort.We booked in for our honeymoon as we wanted to stay at a luxury boutique hotel that we thought would provide a friendly service and possibly a ‘feel good factor’ that would be nicer than staying at a chain. Firstly, it was disappointing that the email sent by my husband was disregarded and nothing was done on the first night to acknowledge that it was our honeymoon. ‘Luxury’ is a term that should be commonly understood, it means ‘state of great comfort and extravagant living’, so it is very disappointing that the following has happened. To have to experience a particular front desk staff member argue with me about the bath flooding. Her argumentative and defensive attitude was compounded by the fact that she lied about what she said on the phone, with my husband listening, versus what was said face to face in front of the manager. This particular staff member told me that there was no one to complain to because the manager had gone home and that complaining about a flood caused by the bath would have to wait until the next day. We were adamant that the manager should be called and she did so reluctantly, but not before telling my husband, who is a HR Director, that she has no job title, no responsibility and that there was no one around to deal with our needs. The bath leaked and flooded the room twice. The second time was in the middle of the night, when I had not had a bath. The room became extremely humid and I am sure added to the mosquito issue. On top of this, I am extremely upset that the humidity has affected my Ralph Lauren bag! To have to ask for towels numerous times, after the second flood, and then have to walk to front desk to get some The Wifi was excruciatingly slow, it is as bad as dial-up The room has cracks in the wall The fan was not maintained and had to be fixed after I complained about it making a noise and waking my from my sleep during the night The toilet seat was ill fitting The water was off/had run out one morning You ran out of callaloo and I could not enjoy a Jamaican breakfast Dead mosquitos on the seating in the restaurant the morning that breakfast was served indoors Is it normal for the bed top sheets to not be changed for the 2-3 days? We know that the tree cutting that started at about 6 am was not on your property but it was another really irritating occurrence.The couple beds on the beach were old and dirty and we had planned to rent one, but realised there was no point, we did not see anyone else taking up the opportunity either. The decking had slats missing.Thank you for the apology, and the turndown/honeymoon service that was provided on the second night, the room overall is gorgeous and is similar to your photos online. The food is excellent and compliments should really be given to the cooks and chef. You really should look into getting better parking facilities as we did not appreciate being woken up at 7 am (after getting back last night at 2 am) to move the car so someone else could leave the property.
