Sandy Haven Resort
- What's Included
I traveled in Aug 2016 for my birthday with a friend. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but when they open the gate it's a hidden oasis. The hotel is nicely decorated. I love love loved this hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and they took great care of us. All the staff if personable and helpful. Pops, of course, is great! He quickly assisted in getting our room changed when we noticed the glass sliding door did not lock. The rooms are a spacious and clean. One evening we were greeted by a bat in the room (so scary lol). The staff removed him quickly. We only made it to continental breakfast once; the muffins and fresh fruit were delicious. The hotel seems to be in the center of 7 mile beach; everything is in great walking location or a quick taxi ride which they can arrange for you. I can't wait to visit this hotel again!
I am still in awe about this place. From the location, to the cleanliness and to the staff is probably one of the best experiences that has ever happened to me with my travels so far. I received this deal on groupon for 4 nights. I went alone and felt very comfortable and safe. Thanks to the staff, Pops who showed me everything in my room and helping me with my bags, to Keri welcoming me with a great alcoholic beverage at the bar. The checkin process was super fast and I was required to pay a tax fee of somewhere near 90$. I enjoyed the beach everyday day and the jacuzzi in the evening. The food was so delicious and room service was very quick and pleasant. The staff are so friendly and helpful that when they realized I was alone, they protected me in any way they can. One bartender named Duvane was very helpful and professional. I felt so comfortable asking duvane for anything I wanted to visit locally. Times where he made sure I was in the right cab, with the right people just to get food outside of the hotel and back. He was so friendly that other stayers came out to have one last drink so they can say good bye to duvane and i was fortunate to make friends with them because of duvane. I will always remember him. I am planning to come back and when I do, I will not go anywhere else besides the Sandy haven Resort. This is my second time in Negril but this is the first time with Sandy Haven and I fell in love with the place and the staff. I hope to see everyone when I come back. If I don't I am sure someone in the hotel will inform them that I am around. I totally recommend this hotel for alone travelers, to couples as well as small families. It is very calming, beautiful, fun, comfortable and everything is only walking distance. Thanks.Sofia
This hotel was way better than I expected it to be considering I snagged the deal on Groupon. And note that with the Groupon you still have to pay the taxes on it once you check in at the hotel which was about $86. Not really sure how I missed that detail but no big deal. Paid $309 for a 4 night stay and it was worth every dollar. From check in to check out. Check in was a breeze with the young lady who checked me in (her name escapes me) and Pops who gladly carried our bags to the room (no elevator) and explained every detail of the room to us. From how to turn on the tv, AC and water. Speaking of the water, it never did get hot, just below like warm. But who cares??? We're on vacation so I felt that was too trivial to complain about. Just thought I'd mention it here. The beds were super comfy and all of the room linens were of good quality. I will definitely be back for New Years Eve this year.Continental breakfast at the cafe was just that, typical continental, so I'm not sure why there was so many complaints on here about that either. I was sold with the French press coffee:)The staff at the bar (Carrie, Romeo and Duvane) was fun as well. My only 1 gripe with this hotel is the key situation. I can see where having a huge keychain with your room number on it attached to the key can cause problems if lost or stolen. For safety reasons please rethink modernizing the key process
In August we stayed two weeks at the Sandy Haven resort, a very nice decorated hotel with spotless clean luxury rooms. Good aircon, good comfy beds, good wifi. Our room had the most perfect ocean view (room 123) so we could see the sunset from our own balcony. The staff really made us feel at home. It is not an all inclusive like many other hotels in the area, so after two weeks we knew all the staff members. They did everything to make our stay memorable. Even provided us with afterbite cream (mosquitos were not very impressed by our European mosquito repellent). When my daughter had a small accident during a tour, they gave her the cook's ointment for burns. Not to forget the beach, 7 mile beach is gorgeous! The swimming pool was small but nice, although it was closed during the last days of our stay. We didn't like the American breakfast much, but the continental breakfast with fresh fruit was great.
My gf and I spent 3 nights at Sandy Haven and we absolutely loved every minute. The hotel is in the perfect location on seven mile beach, its clean, and the service is really excellent. Shout out to pops! Perfect place to go and unwind right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Also the Jamaican breakfast kinda changed our lives...we will definitely be back!
