Sandy Haven Resort
- What's Included
I came here for my birthday with my two girlfriends. I found this hotel so quaint and a perfect place for a relaxing retreat. I don't suggest to stay here if you're looking for a party environment. We had the perfect ocean view and breakfast in the morning is served in their restaurant facing the blue waters. The food was mediocre but the food in Negril in general is amazing! The staff is not as friendly. The typical laid back attitude of Jamaica but the staff that provides transportation were more friendly and helpful. I didn't care to much for the front desk staff. They seemed to not care to much about pleasing the customer and were at times not accommodating. The pool is non existent but who needs a pool when you have the ocean! I liked the location and the beach front a lot. Additionally, the room was clean and newly updated. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained. The service was subpar and could have been improved. I would stay here again simply because of the accommodations and location.
I was with a group that booked the whole resort for a week The staff were outstanding. They handled having us show up in groups for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and handled the surge beautifully. They really stepped up to the task! The beach area is beautiful, staff keep it very clean. The whole facility is very barefoot-friendly. The food was excellent, we really enjoyed the fresh fruit plates and the traditional Jamaican dishes. When I come back to western Jamaica, this is where I'll want to stay!
This is a nice small hotel which is a boutique offering. Staff are not as friendly as the general manager, he is a great guy, so is pops, the other staff should take reference from them. We had a bit of items that were sorted out, aircon didn't work, we got moved into another room. Ipod dock didn't work in new room the general manager came and sorted it out with his handyman. Tv wasn't always on point. Breakfast wasn't great lacks a bit of listening from staff. But all in all a good hotel, even with all the minor items it still was a good stay.
Even though my stay at this resort was very brief, I was thoroughly impressed with all that was experienced; from the cozy and intimate ambiance, to the exceptional food quality at bongos (Restaurant) to the warmth and superb customer service by the staff. The General Manager, Jason, was very courteous and paid me a special visit during dinner to chit chat and ask about my stay... a very noble gesture that speaks highly to the traits exemplified for the staff to follow. I will be back for sure!
This hotel is truly a gem! The staff to the service to the location are fantastic. You can't get a better location on the Negril seven mile beach. We stay in Jamaica a lot and have done the big all inclusive's etc but if you are looking for boutique charm with the ability to adventure beyond the resort grounds then this is your location. In the spirit of full transparency, part of the rooms are a little tired, the bathroom base boards and some of the walls need some TLC, but in all honesty this is extremely minor and nothing to deter you from a great visit. Contrary to what i read in some reports , it is very safe, the staff were great and ensured our belongings whether on the beach or in the room were protected at all times, and they were! The continental breakfast is a nice touch albeit it is continental. (some fruits and coffee, mimosas) . Room safes are great and the room fridge ( small wine fridge) was awesome. Big shout out to Pops who is a true gent and helped us with every little thing and to all the staff who were fantastic. can't wait to book a future trip.
