Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to Heather, the resort manager!! I originally booked to stay at this resort with my partner over the New Year, but only to be faced with our accommodation at the Spa Retreat, not being booked due to the failure of a third party travel agent not confirming our booking with this hotel. The resort manager went out of their call of duty to accommodate us and we both were extremely grateful. The food and drinks were outstanding, the views and spa treatment is to die for and the customer service from all staff was exceptional and most of all our experience was unforgettable. We will definitely book to stay here next year, but this time book directly!
This is one of the most elegant, unpretentious, and utterly delightful places that I have stayed. Everything is in harmony and I felt relaxed within a few minutes of my arrival. It had been a hectic day but when we arrived for check in we were greeted with a complimentary beverage and a marvelous relaxing neck massage. After an easy and uncomplicated check in and a brief tour we were shown to our room. It was spacious, clean, well appointed and the bed was wonderful!. Nice fluffy towels, lots of hot water for a great shower and off to soak in the salt water pool and enjoy the view of the sea. There was a happy hour at the bar before dinner with nicely crafted cocktails. As you neared the end of your 1st drink you were asked did you want the same for your second or would you like something else. None of that crazy two for one where your drink is melting and getting watery and they shove them both at you at once, this was nicely done , and you were truly served your drinks. dinner at the restaurant was excellent. A very good selection, I had a lovely broiled fish special, with a lobster sauce that was very well spiced and presented. This was at a celebration for a friends birthday so we were a very large party but the service went very smoothly and everyone I spoke with was pleased with the meal and the service. There was an eclipse of the full moon and some other celestial happenings that also made the evening very special. The view from the cliffs is magnificent. I stayed up a good part of the night just enjoying the feeling of tranquility provided by the overall mood and atmosphere of the property . I would have liked to have stayed a full week and enjoyed the amenities, massages and spa treatments on offer. This stay was at the end of a week in Jamaica. Had it been at the beginning I would have reorganized my plans to spend the entire time here. I will be back for a longer stay.
I stayed here with my girlfriend in November for a full week. Incredibly relaxing resort with beautiful views, and snorkeling equipment available to venture out past the cliffs into the ocean. The food at the Blue Mahoe restaurant onsite was great, the staff was extremely helpful with recommendations to go elsewhere on the island, and they provided a cell phone to call the drivers on staff. Rooms were simple but great and separated from other rooms with beautiful gardens. If you are looking to get away and relax I cannot recommend a better place. The resort is small enough that you may want to leave a few times if there for a full week (we are in our 20s). While they had a reasonable number of options for "excursions" (sailing trips, waterfall treks in the mountains, etc.) I would recommend doing some independent research on these options as some were better than others.Overall we had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back!
We couldn't wait......we had to go back. We were just here a few months ago but we couldn't stop thinking about what a relaxing, wonderful time we had!! We were here in the summer and now back again during Thanksgiving....this time we were staying 8 days.... Our driver, arranged by the hotel, was there to greet us with a smile at the airport and we were on our way to Negril, and a quick stop for a Red Stripe along the way!We arrived to our shoulder message, very needed and big hugs from our beautiful Spa Retreat family. I was able to reserve our favorite cottage (thank you Heather), at the end facing the beautiful ocean. Quickly settled in, jumped into the salt water pool and started unwinding. The food at the restaurant is delicious. Everything is fresh and the chefs will cook anything you like. We ate almost every meal there and they even had a special Thanksgiving Day dinner for us.We have very stressful jobs so to be able to escape to a place and not have to worry about anything is priceless. Spa Retreat has become our home away from home. Heather the GM is there for anything you need and the whole staff is not only there to make sure everything is irie but there because they care. Being home for a few months now, I can still hear the ocean, smell the jerk lobster, taste the rum punch and see everyones smiling faces and know i'll be back soon........I can't forget the greatest part is hanging with Rosa the Spa Retreat DOG! See you soon Spa Retreat!!
Yes...it is that good- Mojitos made by D. brown at the bar. And this review is from a Cuban! Have some free jerk popcorn, enjoying the sunset , music and fun people. THEN have supper, try the mango creme brûlée.
